It is «Overpriced». The food is plain. We climbed a 14er over 10 hrs that day, you could tell that we were STARVING, but even so the food tasted plain. If you want decent food with fair price, choose somewhere else.

This was my first time experiencing this restaurant. I found it very warm and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the trout and it was the house special for the evening. The salad also was very good. Daniel is awesome and I highly recommend this place.

I stopped here on my way back to Colorado Springs and was surprised to find it was better than expected. I come from a part of the country that has very good food and struggle with the general lack of decent restaurants found in Colorado Springs. And I should add that I am by no means a fatty food, overly sauced, meat and potatoes type of eater. I like fresh, quality ingredients and flavors to be subtle and not in your face… you know, good food. What I found at Tabeguache Steak House was just that. I had a strawberry salad to start which was fresh and had the perfect amount of glazed pecans and was it, goat cheese… we were tired when we arrived. Nevertheless, the salad ingredients were balanced and not overly dressed. The fresh baked bread with cinnamon infused butter was good as well. I had a moon fish served with mixed rice and fresh green beans(purchased from the farmer’s market that day). The fish was cooked perfectly, not over or under done, and with just the right amount of a tasty olive and caper tapenade. As for the rest, the atmosphere is clean and casual and the service personable. With good food being so hard to come by in Colorado Springs, I will be driving back up to Woodland Park to dine here.

This is our favorite place to eat in town. We are locals here in Woodland and have tried every restaurant and this is by far our favorite. We’ve been several times and each time our steaks are cooked to perfection! No steak sauce needed! They always serve fresh local veggies on the side and the staff and owner are very friendly. They also serve several wines including Colorado wines. Highly recommended!

Meh. I’ve experienced better. That’s the 2 star rating from Unilocal and that explains this place well. We decided to try this restaurant because they supposedly served steaks from Ranch Foods Direct, although the pathetic excuse for a $ 30 steak I received didn’t look like anything I’ve purchased from the Ranch Foods store. Everything was overpriced. I’m sad to say that we enjoyed Texas Roadhouse more.

The service was excellent. There is a good beer and wine selection. The food was good but if you order a rib-eye, don’t expect a prime cut. We also had the salmon with some special jalapeño — pineapple sauce(with a kick). Salads were good and the bread was served warm and fresh. The booth was a little bit uncomfortable which leads me to the ambience of the room. I was expecting a little more as far as décor goes. The place is clean and appears fairly new. If you are looking for a good tasting meal with good service(without the emphasis on décor), then you need to give it a try. Bottom line, the price is just a little bit high for the dining experience.

When choosing where to go for dinner on Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend, we wanted something that had good reviews, was fairly healthy and that was open. Check, check and check. For those who wondered about the last item, it should be noted that Woodland Park closes down at 8pm even on weekends in the high season of tourism. The interior of Tabegauche is quaint, there are not many booths and the restaurant itself is small, but tastefully done with vaulted ceilings. Our waiter, Tyler, was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. He explained the menu and specials to us and shared that all the meat used by Tabegauche is hormone free and grass fed. Score. I loved the pot roast. The meat was so tender it could be cut by a fork, the carrots were sweet and the potatoes had just the right amount of garlic. I also loved the bread, fresh from the oven with butter that had hints of cinnamon and honey. My husband was very pleased with his meal, a pasta dish, as well. Tabegauche has a well rounded menu with something for everyone omnivorous. If you’re a veggie, the offerings are rather slim(the salad menu is robust, but not many other offerings). We were too full for dessert, but the couple enjoying bananas foster nearby enjoyed it so much that they shared with us that we’ll have to come back to try it. Maybe we will…

My husband and I were visiting Woodland Park and were craving a good steak. Tabeguache provided not only great steaks grilled perfectly, but excellent sauteed mushrooms and a wonderfully tasty spinach salad(warning: get the ½ salad, even the ½ salad is huge!). We had to make a point of taking some of our dinners home so we’d have room for desserts. Oh my! I had the Lava Cake, warm with a caramel center, oozing out of moist chocolatey cake. My husband had the Bourbon Pecan Pie. Great crust and yummy pecan filling that you could actually taste the bourbon. Our server was great. Very friendly, helpful and intuitive, bringing us things before we even asked. If we weren’t leaving so soon, we’d definitely go back to try the burgers! Great experience!

Disappointed. Feels like a «dressed up» coffee shop, more than a steakhouse. My New York was fair, nothing special — have had better at Texas Roadhouse. People here say how great the service is, but my waiter had the personality of wallpaper, acting as if in some sort of catatonic state, maybe just an off nite, who knows. Was not worth the drive up to Woodland Park — I’ll stay with The Famous and Mackenzie’s Chop House down the hill The Springs.

After several years I returned to this restaurant to give it another try. I found the ambience to be mediocre. The service was good, but the food was not as good as the waiter promised. Personally, I don’t care where the meat is purchased or whether or not the chicken is free range. My wife and I both had the 10 oz. ribeye. They were paper thin and flavorless. The crème brûlée was brought to the table in two minutes — obviously not made to order. It was cold and bland. The only redeeming factor was that the prices have been reduced since the last time we were there. It still wasn’t worth the return trip.

We have been coming to this restaurant for 5 years now. It is always great and the quality reliable. Exceptional wait staff and the soups are always delicious. Even though it is a steak house, venture to the other offerings as they are equally as pleasing.

The place was pretty empty when we were there. They must do a huge weekend business. So, what did we find? The people are super friendly. I mean, so friendly, you leave going ‘Wow, they were super friendly!’. My son is in a wheelchair and the waiter offered to cut his steak for him. That was a first for us and is one of the things we have talked to him about when he starts going out alone with friends int he near future. But 5 start service couldn’t overcome the food. We ordered the spinach dip, the filet, and 2 sirloins. We left with the meh feeling when it came to the food. It was OK, but not great. The sirloins were on the tough side. I usually order the sirloin when I am out because it is a leaner cut. It has been a long time since I have run across one that tough. The steak knifes were also pretty dull, so it was a chore to cut it. Filets are usually tender enough that you can almost cut them with a fork. But we did not find that here. Also, the filet was bacon wrapped. However, the bacon tasted like it was a smoked maple variety. This imparted an odd taste to the steak. If you go for the filet, you may want to consider dropping the bacon wrap. Costco steaks beat their offerings hands down. I didn’t mention the spinach dip for a reason. Skip it. It was not memorable. On a side note, this was the first time we have been through Woodland Park. Love the look and feel of the town.

Surprisingly quiet place, hardly any patrons on a Saturday night, but wow, amazingly cooked steak! I came here based on other Unilocal reviews and had the Flat Iron steak and I loved it. Great wine selection too and my husband enjoyed his beer. Highly recommended!

Stopped here based on Unilocal reviews. Spinach and feta salad was great as was the ribeye with mushrooms. Try the Holy Cross Abbey Cabernet, it was as good as if not better than California cabs I have had. Friendly, efficient service with a clear passion for good food!

This is a great steak house. It is a small local place with a friendly staff. Whomever cooked the steak did it perfectly! That seems to be a rarity these days, especially with chain restaurants, so this local establishment was a welcome find. All the other Unilocal reviews were spot on. We will return!

My wife, 14 year old daughter and myself stopped in at Tabegauche Steak House(pronounced«tab-uh-watch» on a Friday night for dinner as we were heading west through Woodland Park. We’re very glad we did. We had a wonderful meal that was prepared perfectly and served by a friendly waitress. The delivery of the meal was leisurely, but not too slow. Our appetizer was calamari, that surprisingly was tender and tasty — not like the rubber bands you get at some restaurants. My wife and I had the black and blue flatiron steak — cooked to perfection. The daughter had salmon that she said was delicious. We shared a New York Carmel cheese cake, that we all agreed was one of the best we had ever had. All in all, a great meal. We highly recommend you try the Tabegauche Steak House when you’re in Woodland Park.

We were extremely pleased with this restaurant. The service was great and the food outstanding. Many steaks to choose from, including my black and blue flatiron steak or just plain sirloin. they also have incredible salads, chicken, fish of the day. I got the soup and it was homemade and delish! Their specialty dessert is flaming banana foster. Fun to watch and great to eat. Atmosphere is ok, but tables with cloth table coverings and cloth napkins. Steaks and veggies cooked to perfection, prices very reasonable.

We stopped in for lunch at this steak house after visiting the Dinosaur museum. We were surprised that we were the only patrons of the place. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was very good. I had a steak done medium rare with some side veggies. The meat at this restaurant is grown in Colorado and isn’t the standard corn force fed beef that you find at all the chain restaurants. In other words it is a higher quality steak filled with protein(much like elk) and not all the gross blubber found in most steaks. Most surprising was the price. Most entre’s are just above ten dollars. I’m not sure why this place isn’t busy but I do know that this is ‘the’ restaurant that I will visit when I am in the area(I currently live north of Denver). If you are health and price conscious, then this is a great place to get a healthy meal grown by Colorado ranchers. Give it a try when you get the chance.
