Michael C’s Optical

I read the wonderful reviews on Unilocal and thought this might be a great place to get glasses. Boy was I wrong! I called ahead and talked with Michael about discounts and two brands of glasses that I was interested in, but he was very short with me & unfriendly over the phone. Then I RUSHED to get to the shop (after I got off from work) but they had apparently CLOSED EARLY even though I was there 15 minutes prior to their advertised closing time of 6pm. Michael C’s will not get a 2^nd chance at my business & now I am also suspicious about all of those positive reviews!

Michael is amazing! He has a great selection of adult glasses and kids too! He is wonderfully patient and accomidating of my son who is now 5. Espeically if you have pediatr

I have been taking my daughter here for her glasses for the past two years. The selection of kids glasses is very good, and Michael is excellent. The glasses are usually ready in a couple of days. Recently, my daughter was complaining she couldn’t see and it hadn’t been a full year since her last eye exam. We took her for another eye exam, and her prescription had changed significantly. She couldn’t read the top line on the eye chart with her glasses on. Needless to say, I didn’t want her to have to wait a week to get new lenses, and it was a holiday weekend. I went to Lens Crafters and they quoted me $ 300 just to change the lenses on her glasses. We called Michael after the holiday weekend, and he changed them the next day for a third of the price. I highly recommend him.

Okay selection for kids I guess. I didn’t shop around but it certainly was not the kid friendly experience I read in other reviews.

Michael C’s Optical is not only a great place for children eyewear, but also the best place to get adult prescription glasses in Los Angeles. This place has been in business for a very long time, run by Michael who is a wonderful person to work with and the prices are so reasonable! I used to get my son’s glasses from him, when my son was just a little boy, but my son eventually moved to college and later to NYC to work, so he got glasses in other places, usually in NYC. Two weeks ago my son who is now 25 years old and attending law school in Boston, came home and had his yearly eye exam with the same Ophthalmologist he has been seen since he was little. To our surprise his prescription had changed (perhaps do to all that reading in law school), so knowing that he only had a few more days at home before going back to Boston, my husband started calling different places and they all said that it would take three to five days to get the lens changed. At this point I remember Michael C’s and I’m so glad I did! Michael not only was able to change the lens on my son’s glasses overnight, but the lens is absolutely the best quality. This was especially important for my son, since he does have a very strong prescription and these types of lenses unless they are done well and of the highest quality, they tend to look really bad. I would recommend Michael C’s Optical to anyone for the best service, great quality and reasonable prices!

As good as described by others — old school services and reasonable prices. Michael is professional and easy to talk to. My teenage daughter is happy. What more can you ask for?

Our young daughter needed glasses and someone mentioned we check out Michael’s as he has one of the best selections for children (they have adult frames too). We picked a pair are very lightweight, flexible and have been very durable. Our daughter really likes her glasses and when they have gotten knocked around Michael was there to help adjust them and even came up with a loaner set when her brother completely broke her glasses.
We’ll always go back there for his friendly service and good selection!

I honestly don’t believe it gets any better than this for quality, selection and just plain great service. We, as an «adult» family have been going to Michael for years and would never consider going elsewhere. He is always reliable and available for whatever our needs, large or small and at anytime. It doesn’t really matter if we are ordering new glasses and/​or frames or just getting a minor adjustment on a frame, Michael is there with a smile just the same! We are confident that no matter what needs to be done, that in the end it will always be 100%. Thank you Michael for being there for us~

I have to say that Michael is fabulous with the way he treats his little patients and he is great at helping kids make a decision when choosing glasses. We have been seeing Michael since my daughter got her first pair of glasses at the age of 6.
He stands behind his product and his prices are fair. He carries a great selection as well.

Absolutely LOVE Michael C’s. Highly recommended to me by a mom’s group I’m in, and boy were they right. I was put off at first that there’s no website, but it’s just an old-​fashioned shop where Michael greets you and takes care of you. He’s wonderful with kids, has a great selection and, best of all, we go back as often as needed for free for repairs and adjustments — a big plus when dealing with glasses on a small child. Love the Saturday hours as well. One tip — call before you go just to make sure he’s there. Since it’s a one-​man shop, he occassionally will be out.
