Tara is simply amazing.
When I first came to her I was pretty traumatized from my experiences with other stylists. I love layers and keeping my hair long but every time I went for layers I would lose so much length. I felt like the stylists were so haphazard and didn’t care to deliver what I was asking for. They would just give me excuses and tell me that in order to have layers they need to cut a bunch of hair off. This made me do either one of two things: Never get my hair cut or wait so long to get my haircut that I would have to cut so much off when I finally decided to. It was a vicious cycle. I gave up on layers and wound up with just plain long hair.
My first time with Tara I played it safe and stayed away from layers. After a few more visits I finally felt like I had style and length. Today I took the plunge and got layers and OH MY GOSH IM IN LOVE!!! They’re perfect and my hair is still LONG! Not to mention she does a MEAN blowout.
If you’re looking for a stylist who listens to what you want and can deliver Tara is your girl. I finally feel like I have a reliable talented stylist that I can trust. 100% recommended.

Just had my haircut with Tara! I have to say, I’ve had numerous people cut my hair in the many different cities that I’ve lived. No one compares to Tara. Her understanding about the growth patterns of men’s hair is unsurpassed.
She is also very easy to schedule with and get ahold of. Always willing to work with my somewhat hectic schedule. If you are looking for a superb, professional and talented stylist, look no further than Tara.

Tara is a great hairstylist and now a friend! She has a unique eye for hair and can spot what you need even if you don’t know what that might be! She is so sweet, professional and punctual. The worst experience ever at a colorist. I went in for highlights/​lowlights. Light brown with golden highlights. After almost 2 hours in the chair Tara decides to put a gloss on my hair. The gloss was a dark reddish brown which covered ALL the work she had just done. The color is so unnatural and looks like a cheap bottle job. I want to cry when I look in the mirror and now I’m going to have to pay big bucks to have it professionally repaired. Tara is a sweet girl but obviously doesn’t know color OR her products. Sorry to have to write this Tara but what were you thinking?

Tara’s great!
I live in West Hills and had been driving to Studio City to get my hair cut for years!!! I found Tara a few month ago and have been super happy with every cut since.
Her setup is a little unique in that her salon is divided up into little private stations rather than in a large open area like you’re used to. Hers is in the front with a big glass wall that looks outside. It actually makes things more convenient and relaxing than a traditional salon, but I mention it because when I originally found her on Unilocal I was confused.

Tara did my hair for my wedding this past weekend and I have to say I was thoroughly amazed! I cannot get my hair to stay curled for the life of me and neither can any stylist I have ever been to but whatever Tara did worked! Her hands are magical and I felt like a queen. Thank you Tara for helping make my wedding such a wonderful day! I will definitely be going back before my honeymoon for a cut and color!

I absolutely love Tara. For the longest time I had been wanting to cut my hair short, and with my thick and curly hair consistency I was too scared to entrust any stylist with the «big cut,» as my hair had been really long for the longest time. However, I felt like I could trust Tara and I made the leap and had her cut my hair shoulder length and layered… and I LOVE IT! I couldn’t be happier with my new hairdo, and I want to thank Tara a million times for making short hair work for me! And for a great price, too! This girl knows what she’s doing, I’d trust her with my hair forever.

It’s rare to find a hair stylist you trust enough to give the freedom to do anything to your hair. Anything. When I moved to the Valley, I spent a year trialling different hairs stylists. Tara was number 4. At the time, it was more than I wanted to drive but I was getting desperate to find someone that could understand my baby fine, curly-​ish hair with a mind of its own. Tara did an amazing job giving my hair shape and body. But I was afraid to commit to the drive to go see her on the other side of the Valley. When it came time for my next trim, I gave in to the laziness and went to someone closer who totally botched the gorgeous cut Tara gave me. Biggest mistake, ever.
Tara is one of a kind. She takes the time to learn about your style, what you’re looking for, and most importantly, understand your hair’s personality. If you set a goal to grow your hair out, she’ll develop a plan and timeline to get you there. If you come in two months before your wedding asking for a dramatic change and she knows you’re one to second guess things, she’ll talk you off the ledge, towards a compromise to move in that direction without completely committing the huge change. She even helped my husband tame his wild hair from those terrible cuts defined by numbers. She makes miracles happen, people! And color, she is a magician when it comes to color.
I followed Tara when she decided to start her own salon and I’ve never looked back. Even now that I live on the other side of the country, we have a long distance relationship. I make appointments for my husband and I to see her as soon as I book tickets to fly back to LA to see our family. No matter where we live, she’ll always be our hair stylist.

Tara has been doing my hair for over 4 years now and does a fantastic job! My hair looks natural, regardless if it’s highlighted or a copper red. My cuts are always great, and she gives honest feedback on whether or not a particular cut would work for me. Affordable prices and does doesn’t try to push all the services on you. Her station in located right through the doors at Regency Salons. Try her out and you won’t be disappointed!

I starting seeing Tara last summer after we moved here from the east coast and I honestly couldn’t be happier. My hair is a little bit high maintenance– color every four weeks, highlights… the works. She toned down my color so it’s much more natural looking now. She doesn’t try to cut it every time I walk in the door. She’s very honest about what looks good and what is good for my hair. She’s also great at communicating via text which is super convenient so you never have to call and deal with a receptionist. She works on Sundays which is awesome. And best of all, she scrubs your hair so your scalp feels fantastic!

Tara is amazing. She expertly cuts my my hair and it looks great! it grows out well too. Grateful to find such a talented stylist (I’m REALLY picky about my hair too). I always have to grab a few of her business cards because a lot of people ask me about my hair care and hair cuts. My layers are fantastic and my hair moves beautifully after her cuts. She listens to her clients, has a great personality, she’s very professional, and up to date on the latest tricks of the trade. I highly recommend Tara.

Tara is awesome! Her prices are totally fair, and she gives a 15% discount for new clients. I brought her pictures of what I wanted and she gave me her opinion on what would work best with my skin tone. She had me out of the salon in under 2 hours for a cut/​color/​blow dry. She did such a good job & I’ll definitely be returning.

Tara has always given me what I want without a fuss. Plus, she has been able to create a hair style out of thin air! (I personally think that’s all you need to know about her, buuuuut I’ll share some more since this is Unilocal)
–She’s one of the nicest people in the Valley.

I’ve been going to her for two years, and she has been ever so willing to help transform my hair. I go every two weeks alternating between full cuts and touch-​ups. ⁵⁄₅ Already have my next couple appointments set.

I’d been looking for a great hairstylist in the valley for a while since the one I usually go to is in Venice. I found Tara on Unilocal and thank goodness I did!
I have long straight hair, which people tend to either chop off or not layer well. Tara did an amazing job my hair looks healthy and it stood the test of the post Stylist hair.

I have been looking for a great stylist for SO long! I have tried so many people, wasted so much money and time! So much so that I had pretty much just given up. I finally gave in and tried a friends stylist because her hair looked amazing! My hair turned out AMAZING!!! I wanted brownish/​red base with caramel highlights. Instead of having to do an all over color she worked with my hair and the color I already had and created exactly what I wanted with out that extra step. She totally got what I wanted and just did her thing.
–First of all Tara is so down to earth and easy to talk to.
–Her space is amazing
–Her prices are phenomenal

Having never been to a professional hair stylist, I can safely say that this was the best haircut of my life so far. The studio felt very clean and refreshing. Before getting started, instead of asking «how do you want it cut?» she said «tell me about your hair», which I thought showed a level of insight much higher than your typical cosmetologist in a commercial franchise.
While cutting, Tara has an awesome attention to detail. Based on observations and some questions I posed, Tara was constantly checking angles, analyzing hair growth patterns, recognizing hair density, …for someone who’s never experienced this level of granularity in getting a haircut, it was very impressive! I got the sense that she takes a lot of pride in her work. She’s also a good conversationalist; a very down-​to-​earth personality.
When finished, the cut was exactly as envisioned, which in past experiences, has almost never happened. Couldn’t be more pleased. Will definitely be revisiting.
Also, since I didn’t see any other reviews mention this but yes, she can do Asian men’s cuts. My hair, in particular, is fine/​straight, and she cut it in a way that seemed to create more volume in areas where it needed it. She’s got mad skillz!
