TERRIBLESURGEON! I went to him for ear reshaping and ended up having a part of my ear broken and sticking out. On top of that, my ear is back to the same as it was before, pointing outward. I can’t even sleep on my side because of the pain. My friend and I had the same surgery done on the same day with Dr. Kim and both of our ears are messed up. I can’t believe we payed so much, going through all that pain, to have our ears look worse than before. We plan on having another surgery to fix his mistake. This time we’ll go to a surgeon that actually knows what he is doing.

Dr Kim is the type of surgeon you trust to send your own family members to. Not only is he a great surgeon but his bed side manner, patients and understanding are impeccable. One of the most well trained plastic surgeons in the United States.

This review isn’t based upon my experience with David as my plastic surgeon as I’ve never gone under the knife. This review is based upon my experience as an ICU nurse who has had the great pleasure of working with and watching David grow as a doctor during his residency. Back in the day, when I was an ICU Registered Nurse in the Burn Unit, I had the opportunity to see David in action as both a 2nd year plastic surgery resident and later on in his residency as chief. I’ve seen a LOT of surgeons and doctors rotating through their residency during my years at that particular hospital. I’ve seen a frightening number of really bad doctors(as in, I have kept a running list of them and if I ever see them coming near me, I will run the other way) but I’ve also seen a handful of doctors I would feel comfortable treating my family, my friends and myself. David Kim is one such example. What stood out in my mind when he was a 2nd year resident was his bedside manner. Without revealing too much, we had a pediatric patient who was just in love with David because he made time for her. He always took the time to say hello to her and talk to her. When he left our service and she was still a patient, she would ask me to page«Dr. David» and ask him if he could stop by to say hi to her. I’d page him and he’d always manage to make some time if he was still at the hospital to come visit her. Let me tell you, this is very rare. In the close to 7 years I was in the Burn Unit, he was the only surgeon who went so over and beyond for a little girl. This aspect of David didn’t stop with just this one patient. He routinely went to physically see his patients versus simply asking the nurses what’s going on. This trait, also, is rather rare and speaks a lot about David’s professionalism. As he progressed through his residency, I saw the care and pride he takes in his work. I’ve come into contact with doctors who give the impression that they either don’t like their work, don’t like seeing patients and/or treat their calling as a cash cow they plan on making tons of cash from. I never got that impression from David. I’ve had the opportunity to talk to him during his years as a resident and he became a doctor because of a genuine desire to help people. You might be asking yourself what value my review holds for David Kim since I’ve never been a patient of his. What I can tell you is that I’ve seen his skill when practicing his craft. I’ve seen how he truly cares about his patients. I’ve also seen the direct short-term and long-term outcomes of his surgical procedures over the years as a nurse… and I can tell you truthfully that he does great work. I feel very comfortable recommending him to anyone.
