I have had the chicken tostada and have had the chicken enchiladas which I love. There both yummy. I also love the salsa bar! I love real Mexican food but in Washington its hit and miss. Their food tastes fresh and homemade. They also are always adding new/different items to the menu and I am looking forward to trying their other dishes. Love the blacks beans not so much the minted rice though. Armando the Owner is always really nice and takes real good care of me. Love the atmosphere very laid back and love how open/airy the restaurant is especially when the sun is shinning. Love, love love the salsa bar.

I’ve been coming to Ooba’s for years and year and they are always great. If you like simple Mexican food, give this place a try. I’m always a big chicken taco fan. The rice & beans are also killer.

We’ve heard glowing reviews about this place so decided to stop in and check it out. The food was awesome! Very flavorful and fresh. The menu was also expansive with great options for low carb and vegetarians. We’ll definitely be back. One star off because it’s a little on the pricey side, but in the end is worth it.

We stopped here on a Friday around 2:30; the service was great! I tried the cod tacos and my boyfriend had the Mahi Mahi tacos. My fish was crispy and fresh, although I had to eat it fast so the crema wouldn’t make it soggy. It was a little on the pricey side, but over all worth it. I loved the salsa bar, plus they have a liquor license which is pretty cool for a place like this.

I usually love this place. My friend and I get the low carb special but substitute steak. Yum. But today, the guy at the front was adamant that they couldn’t substitute the chicken on the low carb for steak, even though we said we knew there would be an extra charge. Went round and round but he refused. Horrible customer service. He finally said he could do it for an extra $ 9. …are you kidding me??? They lost a customer today… at least when he’s working.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area, which is why this is a hard review to write. I actually joined Unilocal to write this, as they made my kid cry. See how in the review. 1. 35 minutes to get a quesadilla and a burrito — restaurant about 1⁄3 full when we arrived, 4 tables(including ours) when we finally got our food. 2. Had to actually ask them to bring the food to us — burrito was soggy and quesadilla was lukewarm. Food obviously sitting there for awhile. No one though this was worth addressing. At a restaurant. Hm. 3. Let the child eat the quesadilla because at that point she’s hungry and in need of food. It’s after 2PM at this point. 4. Child had to go to the bathroom — took about 2 minutes to do the business and wash her hands. Came back to an empty table. Food had been slightly eaten, but not much — she had at least half a quesadilla and chips in her basket, I had about a 3rd of a burrito and chips on mine. Nothing from the staff about throwing away our food except«sorry». We left. Neither of the first 2 problems would have actually got me to write a review, but the trifecta and the child I then had to take home and feed made this happen. The last few visits I’ve made over the last 2 months or so have been a little slow(15 – 20 minutes for food), but the food does always arrive hot and delicious. Apparently they’ve stopped getting that right too.

Either I am a food snop or I am missing something. The food was ok but not what I would classify as real Mexican. A cheese quesadillas is as big as a small dinner plate and is $ 12.

I like the margaritas and the fish tacos. My husband loves the very many delicious salsas. We’ve never had issues with the food. However… I don’t like that only one person is the waitstaff/cashier/bartender. They totally ignore the line if the phone rings. The rice and beans are very bland, and it can get pricey.

I chose The Beast Burrito it was spicy and I really liked it. It was filled with chicken, pulled red chili pork, and french fries. Yep, fries. It had a nice spicy habanero sauce, and I think it was $ 8.99. They also have some beer on tap, and I can’t remember which one I ordered, they only have about 3 beers on tap($ 4.99 ea). My kids ordered the cheesy nachos… and it appeared to be chips with melted cheese… and I think it came out of the microwave. So, that was no bueno. They have fun games for the kids to play while waiting for their food. They have a nice salsa bar, the salsa tastes fresh. And they range in spice from mild to hot. The hot habanero salsa had a nice kick, but won’t make ya sweat. My husband was disappointed with his margarita… he ordered the«Fabulous Margarita».a large one is $ 8.99, and it didn’t seem large. I wonder what the small one is like? I didn’t finish my burrito — it was really big. My husband finished it, I guess he liked my burrito better than whatever he ordered(I think he had fajitas). This place is kind of divey and cute. Sadly we probably won’t be back. We were kind of hoping for a «sit down» kind of restaurant where we would be served chips & salsa while deciding what to order. This is the kind of place where you stand in line, order at the register, and kind of bus your own table. That isn’t a bad thing, but it wasn’t exactly the kind of sit down, sip a margarita, eat some chips, and get waited on kinda place we were hoping for.

Casual Tex-mex style food. My experience was: Slow service, mediocre food, and a little spendy for what you get. Two tacos and a diet coke for $ 13.50? I ordered red chili braised pork tacos, and got some stringy gray boiled meat. Not sure any chilis made it to the pot, since the meat was so bland. Salsa bar is a nice touch, and some of the menu items look pretty good, but my first impression wasn’t great.

Nice, clean and bright. The food is good enough, but not as great as the Redmond branch. There usually isn’t a crowd which is nice.

This my favorite lunchtime restaurant. Their chicken nachos, grilled chipotle pork burrito, salsa bar and staff are all amazing.

This is a casual licensed restaurant where you order and pay upfront, then your food is delivered after you seat yourself at one of the booths or wooden tables. We waited for about 5 minutes before they could take our order because he was on the phone then he was getting another order ready. TV at either end of the restaurant: one on sports channel and the other on local KIRO. You help yourself to different types of salsa at a salsa bar. Ordered low carb meal: grilled chicken and veggies topped with romaine, guacamole and a dollop of sour cream. I knew I was leaving myself open to a smörgåsbord of whatever they feel like with the mixed veggies, but that’s what living in the edge is all about ;p Plus the meal had melted cheese so it was like a guessing game what I’d find next. From what I could tell veggies were bits of broccoli, red onion, carrots, zucchini, green beans. This was horrible because it was bland. Even the guacamole was bland. Even a good dose of salsa did not salvage this dismal concoction. For drinks: large margarita with grand marnier. Ugh this is very sweet. Won’t be back.

Bland food, cold bell peppers and bad service. We had 2 adults and 2 children and split 2 chicken fajitas. It was like pulling teeth to get one extra plate(forget getting 2 like we asked). The chicken was super chewy. The only good thing was that they had activities for the kids to do while we waited. We will not be returning.

This is my boyfriends go-to spot in Woodinville — he LOVES it. I have to agree, it’s pretty good. He’s loved everything he’s tried. I usually stick with their salmon burrito and find that it’s pretty filling. Their salsas are delicious as well. I think prices are about $ 10-$ 15(depending on if you get a small lunch or a platter).

Ooba tooba, how I love thee. Let me count the ways. I love your gigantic steak burrito. I love your shrimp tacos. I live for what you do to a quesadilla. Your fresh and delicious varieties of salsa make me want to do a dance. The nice people that work here. The art on the walls. You own me, Ooba. You do.

Ooba’s nachos are some of the best I’ve ever had. Ever. A California-native, it has been hard in the state of WA where good Mexican food is like finding a needle in a haystack. But Ooba’s is probably the best I’ve found yet up here in WA — which is odd because the method is very similar to Baja Fresh. Order, sit down, food is served at your table, and if you choose — grab some salsas at the salsa bar. Simple. There’s a reason though that this review is only 3 stars. Last year when I found the place, I was in price-shock. My to-go box of nachos cost $ 10. For chips and some toppings! That is insane. What’s more, they recently increased the prices too — because the cost of meat has risen apparently. As great as these nachos are(very fresh ingredients!), the meat-content is not high… not at all. I’ll be back I’m sure, but not as frequently as I had been in the past.

I write this review as someone who lives in California and has access to the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. I also frequent many a Mexican party where I am the only person that does not speak Spanish. It is a high bar. I think that the food is good but not great. The region seems to be Yucatan, so I think a little different than Jalisco or Tijuana. I do think that it is authentic and is cooked to order. Five stars for the salsa bar, even though it was not hot enough for me. 5 stars for offering Coke in the glass bottle from Mexico. I ordered the chipotle grill pork tacos. The pork needed a little salt and I think that they should have doubled the corn tortilla. It was too flimsy to pick up by hand. The chipotle mayo/sauce was tasty and had the right amount of heat. The quantity of food was just right. What did I learn today? Baseball challenges add way too much time to an already long game.

This not a sit down Mexican restaurant, nor is it a taco truck turned brick and mortar, it’s in between and is reminiscent of Qdoba where you order at the counter then go sit down. Service is prompt and friendly. The place itself is clean and open and in the summer they roll open the big bay windows. The food is great. I always get the Chipotle pork taco plate. The Chipotle sauce is spicy and the pork has good flavor. Their take on beans and rice is different. Usually at Mexican places you get the Spanish rice and refried beans, but they do black beans and jasmine minted rice with crema agria and it’s simple and really good. Best part is the salsa bar, all different kinds from hot to mild, pico, tomatillo, and either a pineapple or corn salsa. You will not be disappointed coming here, or maybe you will who cares I don’t even know you.

This is my favorite casual Mexican place in the area. I had the fish tacos which were good. My only minor complaint is that they had tartar sauce on them. I like tartar sauce but not with my fish tacos. The chicken nachos were also good. The chips here are great so an order of chips + guac is a must. The salsa bar is also a good touch. The hot is actually hot.
