Great wines and great food. More than just a tasting room, they have a kitchen and offer a small menu of freshly made, excellent food. They also have a shuffleboard table and a cozy corner with leather couches and a TV. Definitely worth a visit!

Got an email from the owner explaining the confusion and I now understand we misread the bottle size so were probably just charged for the bigger bottle. So just be careful when you pick a bottle to buy and read the sizes!

I would never have found this place if my friend didn’t direct me to this industrial park of wineries. I highly recommend their Orange Moscato($ 18)… it is so delicious and great for all the candy wine drinkers!

You will notice that my location says AZ. Yep that’s right. I had amazing experience with a winery in WA all the way from AZ. How you ask? My mother comes from a group of «Davenports» in Nebraska. Each year I try to get her something special from a Davenport business. This year, I stumbled upon Davenport Cellars. I was thrilled. The only other Davenport winery I knew of is located in Kansas. I contacted the owners right away via email to see if they could ship a bottle of her favorite wine to me in Chandler, AZ in time for Sunday brunch at my house. I received a response no less than an hour later asking for my city and zip code for shipment pricing. After the weekend,(so that Monday) I was told the full price and after I agreed the bottle was sent out to me. BEFORE I PAID! Why? Because they were trying to do their best to make sure the wine arrived at my house before Sunday. I mailed out a check the very next morning. It’s amazing to me that kindhearted people/business owners still exist and are willing to help out customers who aren’t even in the same state. I’m thrilled with the customer service I received from Jeff Jirka. He’s amazing. They will go above and beyond for someone they have never met – only conversing via email.

Wine tasting with chocolate parings?! Say what?! Did I just dream it or did it really happen? Lucky for me, it really happened. We had nothing going on this past Saturday(02÷08÷14) afternoon and decided«wine» not go wine tasting! I know, lame. Anyway, we were at the wherehouse wine district in Woodinville and walked in to Davenport Cellars. We were greeted by the owner, given the tasting sheet and off we went in to the back area. Low and behold, Intrigue Chocolate Co. was there for a chocolate pairing with the wines. I am not so much the chocoholic, however my husband is a tried and true chocoholic. BUT I do love wine! So this was a perfect! Our wine tastes included the 2012 Snowflake, 2012 Semillon, 2009RHD, 2009 Continuity, 2008 Continuity. I have to say I really enjoyed the Continuity wines, great Cab blends. And our chocolate pairings enhanced the flavor of the wines. Overall, it was a great experience, and the chocolate pairings were a nice bonus!

We were wandering through the winery warehouse district on a drizzly afternoon and as we were walking by Davenport Cellars, one of the owners waved at us which drew us in. That day, they were offering tastes of 3 whites, 2 reds and a rose’. The Snowflake and Hodge Podge are both Sauv Blanc/Semillon blends. I thought they were both very easy to drink, crisp and clean with just a touch of sweet. They also had a 100% Semillon which was very balanced and would complement any meal, or cheese plate. We also tried their red blends, R.H.D. and Continuity(my favorite!) Both were smooth and delicious on their own. We didn’t get to try the Syrah as they were getting low on that one, but we did end the visit with a taste of the rose’ which I would put in the dessert wine category, sweet and decadent. I liked how they gave us new glasses when we went from whites to reds, and there was an array of several different crackers, cheese, and Macrona almonds to nibble on. We were also offered a tour of their barrel room, and a brief lesson in their crush, fermentation and bottling process, which was a bonus. Great wines at economical prices and winemakers who are both enthusiastic and hospitable. We walked out with some Semillon and Continuity.

I tasted here on July 10, 2010 Tasting Fee = None [One Year Anniversary party] 6 wines were offered at this tasting: — 2009 Snowflake [$ 16] A lovely crisp Sauvignon blanc /semillion blend Scents of Lychee Nuts and Lemon A true summer wine — 2009 Hodge Podge [$ 10] The nose isn’t particularly strong but its a delicate wine and a superb value — 2009 Semillion [$ 19] Sweet nose I smelled hay; The use of new French Oak is noticeable — 2007 Syrah [$ 20] scents of currants and licorice a dark wine a little tight still; can benefit from decanting certainly a worthy effort at this price — 2007 R.H.D. [$ 24] Merlot — dominant blend Light peppery notes A oh-so-smooth finish I smelled a hint of cigar box Ready to drink now — 2007 Continuity [$ 24] Cab /Merlot blend A sweet & herbal nose I detected leather & pencil lead on the mid-palate Nicely integrated tannins A pure, fruit-filled finish Sliders, cheese, salads, veggies and dips accompanied the wines; A good time had by all…

I couldn’t decide which was my favorite wine here. I tasted four and they got better with each glass. Maybe that was their master plan but it worked. I liked their white, Snowflake a lot. But in the end, the syrah won my heart. A comfortable tasting room in Warehouse Row, Davenport also had some tasty cheese and crackers to go with the wine. And bonus, chocolates by the wine. I also liked how they gave us new glasses instead of reusing them between the white and reds.
