We very much enjoyed our visit. Jim the owner was very interesting with great red wines… in no other winery were we able to speak with the wine maker like we were there

My friend and I went to a couple wineries today in woodinville and had the pleasure of finding this one. Jim was super friendly, and very informative. I enjoyed my experience tasting wines here, which were all delicious and unique. Aspenwood cellars is definitely a step above the rest!

Jim was very friendly and obliged to tell us all about his winery. His wines, while sticking to reds and red-blends, are nearly all quite tasty. This red-centric winery focus makes him a gem in my eyes. Red wines are my preference so I acknowledge that I am bias. That being said, his variety of Reds were very good and I found myself purchasing wines that I normally steer clear of.

Driving down to Seattle from Vancouver and the boss wants to find a local winery. We ended up at this small wine tasting room purely by chance as we couldn’t locate the original destination. I’m glad we did! Owner Jim Petty took us in even close to closing time, and we got lucky as he was offering a flight of merlots that weekend. A meager $ 5 fee for 3 wines(creditable to any purchase you make) makes this an easy call– Jim makes great wines and offers wonderful company in his small but cozy and homey-feeling tasting room. Every weekend brings a different flight, and with those flights, different offers, deals and specials. Prices aside, the wines themselves taste great and Jim knows very well what goes into them– it’s clear that this is his passion and it reflects in his wines. He was engaging, warm and friendly, and never once even hinted at pressuring us to hurry up or buy something, which, in turn, made us want to get something anyway. Take some time to visit this place and you won’t regret it!

Eastcoast charm — Woodinville wine! Jim at Aspenwood is delightful, kind, down to earth and really nice to be around. I loved his red blend which received a bronze in a competition on the east coast. The tasting room is quaint and he has some great woodwork for sale. Just discovered this other side of the tracks for tasting. Looking forward to exploring more but will always stop here because of the hospitality.

Very pleasantly surprised! The Merlot was delicious. First Merlot I’ve enjoyed in awhile. The Syrah was also noteworthy. Winemaker was a fantastic host as well.

Jim the wine maker is amazing. The tasting room is warm and inviting and Jim is very hospitable. He really let us take our time and taste as he shared his wealth of knowledge with us. After talking with him and tasting his amazing wines we really appreciated all the work that goes in to this craft. Excellent time and great wine. Stop in, you’ll be glad you did !

My husband and I bought a Groupon for Aspenwood Cellars and stopped in there to try it out. We had never been in this area of Woodinville Wine Country and were pleased to see that there were many(13?) in the immediate area. Anyway, we were the only ones in the tasting room so got to relax and chat with the winemaker who was on site. He was very welcoming and even brought out some appetizers for us to enjoy while tasting the wine. He has many different varieties of wine and several of them have won awards in wine competitions. We really enjoyed talking to him and the wine was really good. We left with several bottles but will be back soon for more. Thanks!
