Those guys think who the fuck they are. They inherited the place from their father and are the most arrogant clowns I have ever met

And yes, John C., you certainly can LEGALLY bring your pistol out of NYC with a Premises License, as the NYPD detective clearly stated during my interview process. You just need a valid NY hunting license. The same info is supplied here:

I have been here 3 – 4 times, took my hunting class here and recently I bought a rifle that they ordered it for me. I was happy and satisfied with the service that they provided. Called them and Mike answered the phone, he’s very Polite, patience and courteous with all my questions, I ended up buying the rifle from them. I definitely will come back for my pistol. I read some of the reviews had bad or less than perfect experience, but mine so far was great even dealing with different people in here. Highly recommended.

Take your handgun outside of NYC(at this moment in time and when the above comment was made) and you could face arrest. UNLESSYOUHAVE A CONCEALEDHANDGUNLICENSE. There are two lawsuits currently pending which challenge the NYPD’s position in this area. Unfortunately, your only choices as a NYC resident are the gun ranges located within the 5 boroughs, and this is one of the best. If you get in trouble with your license, or get arrested/summonsed, etc. you might want to go to for a lawyer.

Grimy little place that charges a premium fee to use the range and insists you buy a box of ammo on top of the range fee. Somebody said they treat you crappy if you aren’t law enforcement. Don’t be fooled my friend, they treat law enforcement like crap too. They have no loyalty to customers of many years. A friend was shooting there for years and they still insisted he buy a box of their ammo or else he couldn’t use the range. He left and he won’t be going back. I won’t be going back either.

I’m a proud member here. I decided to get my permit here for the city and Don is very knowledgeable with the process and helpful as can be. Everything from application process(including picture’s, notary, and add letters), choice of weapon, caliber etc. The people are nice and so is the Range officer John. The range has electronic carriers by switch. Nothing high tech. Magnum rounds ok. If you want to shoot and exercise your 2nd Amend right. Go with these guys.

If you’re a licence holder looking for a place to shoot, or are interested in getting licensed, then Woodhaven is the place to visit. The owners, Don & Mike are great. They are really friendly and very helpful to experienced and new shooters alike. The members are friendly and make you feel welcome. The range officer, John, is a really good guy. He is super knowledgeable on all aspects of shooting. He’s a stickler on safety and really helpful when you have a problem. If you’re a new shooter, John is more than happy to teach you the basics and help you get started.

Been a member here for over a year now. Good rates for the city. Very helpful with NYPD licensing. The counties are being a pain towards City license holders, so this is a great alternative.
