Ritz Pastry & Coffee Shoppe

Butter Cake! Just like the ones we had as kids from Bauers bakery in NE Philly. Cookies and donuts and pastries, everything I had from there has been delicious.

I was reminded by Sophia that it was pumpkin chocolate chip cookie season at Ritz… This bakery had been around for decades serving great cakes, cookies, and pastries. I walked in with my youngest daughter and got a pound of these nothing short of great pumpkin cookies. My daughter got another Halloween cookie. This is easily a 4 star establishment just based on their products. But the lukewarm reception and service is the only reason that I gave it a 3. (Can’t stand condescending attitudes when I still have to fork over money for what I’m buying).

I’ve never been to this bakery in-​person, but two people that I work with are constantly bringing in danish and donuts. I really like their vanilla crème donuts and the simple twists with white sugar.
The two folks who are always buying for the office are pretty obsessed with Ritz, but from the things I’ve tasted, I could go to Dunkin just as easily. I do think that it’s better to patronize a family business, though. If you’re in the area, they’re definitely work a look.

I think I’ve found the closest thing to a favorite local bakery. I’ve tried many bakeries, and there’s few that please my palette. Here, I liked their cookies, which were reasonably priced. They remained fresh for many days, which was helpful. I just read some other reviews and can’t wait to try some of the other suggestions.
So far, I’d recommend:
Strawberry black and white ice cream cake — I was looking for a birthday cake that wasn’t too sweet, and all of the other ones were way too rich looking. So, I gave this one a try, and it was a hit all around. It was about $ 18 (from what I remember), but well worth it.

I’ve been a regular at this bakery since it was located in the old Sickels shopping center down the street. I love how it has somehow remained almost exactly the same despite the change in location.
The best bet here is definitely the donuts. Boston Cream & awesome sugared jelly donuts are our favorites. Substantial and fresh. The fruit danishes are very good & I love their cream puffs. The pies and cookies are ok, not great. Except the seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip cookies in fall. Those things are delicious!
Tip: they put half-​price day-​old baked goods on top of the cases wrapped in saran wrap. Look to your left just as you walk inside.

I’ve been here a couple times before to get a cake and morning beverage. From what i can recall the cake was delish, it was a chocolate cake of some sort and the drink was a hazelnut latte, it was delightful. I love that my local bakery is one i can rely on. Their prices are consumer friendly compared to others.
This visit was for dessert for a friend’s surprise birthday party. I ordered dozen of the cream puffs and half dozen of the chocolate eclairs. After consuming so much for dinner, i saved room to try each piece. YUMMO! simple yet satisfying. I love how this place also has some table and chairs to enjoy a beverage and a pastry or two. Next up, birthday cake for the bf. Looking forward to it!

I have been getting birthday and special occasion cakes here since I was a kid and I have always been delightfully satisfied. Cookies, cupcakes, donuts, breads including pepperoni bread make it a great place to stop any time day or night. They also make dog treats for animal lovers out there. All baking done on premises. Great bakery I recommend you check it out.
