January 1st, 2013 — Spent this first day of the year relaxing and catching up on a few movies, one of which was the movie ‘Lawless’ with Shia LaBeouf. The movie was set in the early 1900’s in what is supposed to be a country town in Virginia but is really the historic town of Haralson, Georgia. Aside from really old model T looking cars and clothing, they also filmed the movie at a familiar looking covered bridge. I jumped to my feet with excitement while watching the gunfight and shouted«that looks just like Red Oak Creek Bridge!» Sure enough after a quick movie fact check, it was indeed. Just thought I would share this cool little tidbit about this magnificent historic landmark. Look for several scenes showing this awesome bridge.
