Please note that I did not get a hair cut here. This review is solely based on the fact that this merchant does not take cards. I don’t care how good they are– hair grows back, but this is 2015 going into 2016 and plastic money is money. I understand that it takes a little more to run a merchant account to process cards, but common– 3rd world shopkeepers are using electronic money in one way or another. Why not this barber? Carry cash or don’t bother.

Been using this place for years and gone through only 3 barbers, the latest of which I have been using for a decade. Nostalgic paraphernalia is all over the walls and it’s kind of neat to go there. All the barbers seem to really enjoy the children too. Get’s busy on the weekends, so go through the week if you can.

I hadn’t been to a barber shop in eons, but I just went to Famous American Barber Shop in Woodbridge. After coming home, my wife greeted me and said it’s one of the best haircuts she’s ever seen on me, so I’ll take it! One major bummer from a business operations standpoint, they do not take plastic. Maybe that is normal that barber shops only take cash, but under the circumstances, having to pay a $ 3.25 surcharge at the ATM to get cash out to pay for the haircut definitely dulled what was otherwise a great haircut experience! I almost told the stylist that her«tip» was inside the«automatic tip machine»(ATM).

My son got the worst haircut here yesterday. His line in the front was not even, his side burns were not even, he wouldn’t get out of the car to go with me in the store afterwards because he was embarrassed by the haircut. I would not go back here and plus they were expensive my opinion, 17.00 for a haircut for a 12 yr old boy. Never again.

Lucy is by far one of the best barbers I’ve ever had. If you want a great fade give her a try. I will wait hours for her.

My son has been getting his hair cut here since he was two. They all remember him and give him the best haircuts. A couple of times I have taken him to Great Clips with unsatisfactory results. They tend to get crowded on the weekend but the wait times aren’t too bad.

Well walking in it was a full house. It was a tight space but enough leg room. The customers were a lot older. I was looking for something different. but seems like a good place!

I was just here and I can’t speak for how good their barbers are as I was unable to get a haircut. They had a «take a number» machine but it had no paper in it. One of the barbers said«I didn’t need a number». I was next in line for a barber — there was no one waiting but all 4 barbers were occupied. Then two more«regulars»(I assume they were regulars) came in after me and got served before me. After the barber summoned the second before me I decided to leave. So nothing great about the Great American that I can report. VR RedHOT

I usually cut my own hair, as I never seem to be satisfied with the job at local barbers, but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome at this shop. Every now and then I like to get a proper haircut from a professional and this was a good experience. Kim listened to what I wanted and did a nice fade with straight razor next shave and edging. She even clippered in my part line for a classic side part look.

I’m Army retired and like to keep my integrity by the form of haircuts. Was introduced to the Barber Shop by my Army Retired son in law. I travel from Delaware and to stop to get a haircut. The Barber Shop personnel are very friendly, and Tony my favorite barber, is amazing!!!

I found this place about 4 – 5 months ago. My personal favorite is Tony. He is very friendly, extremely professional, and really knows what he is doing. It’s hard to find a good barber… I found mine.

Just moved to the Woodbridge area and needed a place that specializes in razor fades w/hot cream razor shape ups. This place is exactly what I was looking for, it was $ 16 bucks cash only but there is an ATM inside if you don’t have cash. The shop itself is big enough with about 10 barber chairs or so. Alot of american memorabilia on the walls… pretty cool to look at and they have a few tvs on the wall. This will be my go to shop!

I highly recommend this barbershop. All of the barbers take pride in their work and actually listen to you when you tell them how you’d like your hair cut.

Been getting my hair cut here for quite some time. While some of the barbers tend to be better than the others, you’ll usually get a decent cut regardless of who you get. I also typically get my beard trimmed. Most of the time there’s no additional fee, but I was charged an additional fee once. There’s a television or two that always have Foxnews on. I would prefer a more neutral station(lol), but guess you can’t get it all. Overall, it’s a decent place to get your hair cut. Give it a shot.

The staff is extremely professional and friendly. Excellent Haircut. After one day in VA my hubby doesn’t want to look anywhere else! As a side note… mil discount is only mon thru fri and reg price is 15 but the service more than makes up for it!

A traditional, mom-n-pop barber shop whose barbers are licensed to razor fade. The place is uniquely decorated in collectible Americana; from pinball machine scoreboards to a gigantic Elvis Presley. They also offer free popcorn and are extremely kid friendly.

Family friendly place. I take my girls with me to get my ears lowered and they have a blast with the popcorn. They usually have 4 – 6 barbers working and the wait usually isn’t too long. The place is covered with police patches since they offer a discount to active duty military, fire and police. My kids love the larger than life sized fireman and police officer statues they have and the faces of pin ball machines also help making the atmosphere fun. I have had my hair cut by most of the barbers there and haven’t had a bad one yet.
