Rippon VRE Station

I take the VRE from this station to commute to DC. The station is clean with plenty of parking. The ride to L’Enfant is about 50 minutes from here. Trains are almost always on time. It’s certainly better than taking the metro, even from close-​in like Ballston. From L’Enfant it’s just a few more minutes on the train to Union Station, meaning no red line chaos in the morning commute with the VRE if you need to go there.

The trains may look nice in the pictures but I’m giving that two stars. Three down for three reasons. Outdated station (Microsoft Internet explorer and ticket printing vs smart trip), no security guards (leave your valuable car there it might not be there no more), and overpriced train tickets ($ 11 up from Fredericksburg to Union Station, then another $ 11? You kidding?)
