Excellent margaritas and excellent service from Maysa, attentive and excellent in customer service. She let my party know about the day’s special which was a real game changer, and of course the fajitas were amazing. Queso, of course! Great great place with great great service. Sit in the bar its the best!

Very good chips, Margaritas are decent, nothing wow. I ordered a Mango salad and it was very good ! You have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for the drinks !

Went to OTB several weeks ago; gotta say we are definitely fans. Will be going back. The chips are fabulous! They are homemade, nice and big and sturdy! They don’t break apart easily, and when it looked like we were even getting close to the bottom, the server would come with new ones. The salsa was very good as well. The Happy Hour Specials are awesome and they also have daily specials for dinner that seem to be very reasonable. I am looking forward to going back to try some of them. I got the Superior Dinner so I could try a little of everything with black bean refried beans. It had chicken flauta, crispy beef taco, chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce, cheese & onion enchilada with chile con carne. I was really impressed with the taco shell because it held up through the whole meal! Usually the shells get soggy and break apart, this didn’t get the slightest bit soggy… it was great. And usually I don’t like chicken in Mexican food, but this was very flavorful and the flauta was perhaps my favorite thing. The black beans were okay, but my boyfriend had the pinto beans and they were amazing… the Mexican rice I wasn’t a big fan of, but the portion sizes were extreme. I also had the chicken empanadas for appetizer; they were really good and the sauce that they came with excellent. The service was great and our server helped me make my selection and nailed it. She was very helpful and attentive although at times she did take a while to refill our drinks. The staff was also very attentive; at no time did our chips go empty, there was someone always dropping off a fresh basket. My rating is a definite do again.

Quench your thirst for Mexican food at on the borders. It isn’t the best Mexican food in town, but it does the trick. Food was semi Cold, beans tasted a bit dry and the service was beyond slow. I recommend not getting the empanadas. First of all, they aren’t even empanadas they taste like oil and look as if they are burnt egg rolls.

Service was great. Great spot for Margaritas. Cuisine is more Tex-Mex than Mexican. Very family friendly.

This place used to be my favorite in Woodbridge and we used to go very frequently for years… more than 10. But sometime a few years ago I think the management changed and it got really chaotic. Food was always really really good, but whenever we go since the change we have about 5 different people waiting on us… it seems really disorganized and I never know who im tipping since I only spend about 2 minutes with multiple people. Isnt the point to tip for exceptional service? However last time we went, Rafi was our VERY attentive and sweet server and put this place back on the map for us in the future. Like I said the food is excellent, always comes out hot and delicious no matter what we order.

I usually don’t mind OTB from time to time. I’d rate it overall 3.5 starts. The most recent visit it was pretty empty. I came for lunch. The bar area was sticky. I had steak quesadillas and Chicken tortilla soup. Steak was fatty and overcooked to the point I would say close to burnt. Chips and salsa are good. It’s good if you’re in the mood and it’s convenient but since a new Chuy’s is next door I’m going to have to try them next time.

My feyonce and I decided to head to On The Border for National Margarita Day. They had $ 2 margaritas and they were delicious! Despite the restaurant being packed, felt busier than a Saturday night, the entire team was organized. We were constantly checked on by our server and management. There was a Caucasian manager who constantly checked in on us and wasn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and serve us! Special shout-out to our server, Eric. He was awesome! He was; organized, knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and approachable. Between our various orders of unlimited enchiladas and what feels like 10 rounds of chips, he never missed a beat! There happened to be a raging group of people getting drunk behind us who was very loud and obnoxious. They were very rude to management as well. I thought that management dealt with them very well and kept a very positive atmosphere through it all. My feyonce is a customer service supervisor who deals with customers full time. She was especially impressed with dinner. This was our first trip and we will be back!

Excellent job with my son’s multiple food allergies. Our needs completely stumped the server but he got the manager and chefs involved and they made a plan of action. We don’t have the luxury of eating out often and I almost cried at their thoughtfulness. My son said that they were the best steak tacos he’s ever had! Thank you!

We eat here every few weeks and never had a bad experience. Service can be hit or miss like any restaurant, but the food is consistently good. They bring you chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. I like the border sampler with nachos, quesadillas, snd taquitos. She likes the spinach quesadillas and the choose 2, 3, or 4 dishes option. There are options for vegetarians too. It’s close to shopping, including Target, Walmart, etc. We have never had to wait too long for a table. It is good chain Mexican — American food. Y algunos maseros hablan Español.

Our server was enthusiastic but a bit lacking after some regulars showed up shortly after I ordered a frozen margarita. I was told they only came on the rocks but the menu said both. It took 15 mins for that drink to come and the entrees came first. I had to remind my server I even ordered it and he had to ask me what I ordered 10 mins prior… annoying. write it down. Food was okay… Mahi tacos were tasty. Boyfriend got brisket tacos and he seemed to like them well enough. Portions are large. I got 2 tacos and could only eat one. He got 3 and only ate 2(meals for later!). What stiffed me was when I asked for a box. My server walked past me 3 times to talk to the table of regulars behind me. Then we finally got the check after waiting 10 mins for just a box and he still didn’t have the box. He finally brought 2 boxes when I only asked for 1. He just seemed very uninterested once other patrons showed up and when I didn’t want to «upgrade» my margarita.

Way more Mexican restaurants in Woodbridge… go there. Chipotle has better food and I’m not a fan of chipotle.

This was my first time here and it was super good! The chips were so addicting and we decided on getting the queso and that was amazing! For my meal I got the dos xx fish tacos and they were so good. Overall I love the environment and music. Can’t wait to go again !

Was here a year ago and forgot to tell you about my experience. So, my son likes this place and I did like it but, unfortunately the portions of the food are so much smaller than say, year and a half, two years ago. My son would get the kid’s burger meal, well he’s upset because the french fries are so thin and not that good. I also notice that the size of the burger was, well, like one of those you get a bunch as appetizer. He was done eating the burger while I was looking at my steak fajitas and thinking: Geezuz and I paid this much for this little? Now, I’m feeling ripped off. I understand that the price of beef went up but for crying out loud, if you’re going to serve me a huge portion before and then 1.5 years later you come up with 7 to 10 thin slices plate? We got a problem. Just bump the price couple more bucks AND serve the same portion that used to be serve as well. That’s how it works, you get what you pay for. Except here: They kept the prices low but so were the portions, not good. Anyways, their guacamole is fantastic but there is no way I’ll be visiting this place again if the portions get smaller while the price is the same. It shouldn’t work that way, we know things go up in price but don’t serve such small dishes. This was the first time ever I’ve finished the fajitas w/o me feeling bloated. Now? I can go for a 2nd round of steak fajitas. Also, the kid’s meal, seriously?

This evening we had dinner here, at On the Border, but only because we were attending a Nerium Market party being held at the restaurant. I was not exactly looking forward to having dinner here, as I do not care much for Mexican food, but my views completely changed throughout the night. It took forever to get a parking spot, but we finally did… the place was quite busy! The restaurant’s design almost reminded me of an American steakhouse(think Texas Roadhouse or Logan’s), but with a southwestern flare. Since we were with the Nerium group, there was an outer room reserved for the group where we were shown to. We quickly received chips, but not your typical heavy and greasy chips you get at most Mexican restaurants. The chips were thin but very large-how I wish I had a picture to share! My mom also got a watermelon margarita to start, which was refreshing and huge, but it gave her heartburn… bummer! For our meal, my mother & I shared the Chicken Fajitas and 2 of the Chicken Tinga Empanadas. The Chicken Fajitas are served with your choice of beans(we got refried), rice, lettuce, tomato, your choice of either guacamole or cheese, sour cream, and their amazing, fresh made tortillas. If you walk back to the bathrooms, you can see them rolling and grilling the tortillas right there… and they are delicious; so fresh! The Chicken Tinga Empanadas were a happy hour appetizer(2 or $ 2), but you can always order them a la carte if you just want a few. These little flaky pastries are filled with gooey cheese and spices chicken-I loved these! I always have to have my dessert, and my eye was on the Kahlua Ice Cream Pie, which we ended up ordering, along with a two piece order of Sopapillas. I liked the Pie better, where my mom liked the Sopapillas better. Both desserts were great, just like our meal, and I really am shocked that On the Border only has 3 stars! Our waiters were friendly and quite humorous, although they were a bit slow getting us small things, like silverware and napkins, at times. We loved the room we hosted the meeting in and we will definitely be coming back-either for another dinner meeting or just dinner!

Came in on a Friday around 8pm and the place was packed. I managed to snag the only seat left at the bar. I was sitting for a good 5min before the server can over to me(I had to flag them down for a menu and service). It was no biggie because they were supper busy, moving tables around, brining out food, taking orders, etc. I quickly ordered a drink and food(all at the same time). The bartender quickly made my drink and the food came out very fast! Great atmosphere, good service, and food was very good too!

Decent meal, loved the chips. Service is a bit odd, we had 2 severs as the girl we started with disappeared. Maybe her shift was over, not gonna loose sleep. I had beef fajitas and the were good, not too spicy. The servers kept us full of chips and salsa and drinks filled on a routine basis. Thanks we will be back

Needed a chicken and shrimp fajitas. The to-go order portion is a little skimpy. But, the taste was good. I wanted extra sour cream and lettuce, I was charged .99 cents for a very small cup of sour cream and another .99 cents for the lettuce that came in a cup size portion. Happy Hour Drink Watermelon Margarita was quite tasty for $ 3.50. I think this place could be our new happy hour watering hole for the next month. While waiting at the bar for my food, I was served FRESH and HOT chips and salsa. I LOVE fresh chips!

I was pleasantly surprised by this chain! I came here with my mom because she says she loves the fajitas. I don’t usually have high expectations(I guess I expect generic food, or never had a great experience at a Mexican dine in chain before) but I thought her fajitas were very tasty. «Mild» salsa was really spicy. And tasty For fajitas, they gave a very generous portion of chicken with plenty of veggies. Bell peppers sautéed well with zucchini included. I had a chimichanga, which I found out that day is a fried burrito: D Portion was large, but still ended up finishing the whole thing… along with one of the fajitas… Probably gained a good 5 pounds that afternoon . Service was not great but I think they were trying. I saw our server make a guacamole bowl on the spot for another table. I’m going to ask for that next time :)

For me, chains start at 3 stars, and can quickly lose stars with minor slips. So this 3 star rating is meant to notate an experience tipped in the positive direction. This meal went just fine. We were passing through the town on our drive from Baltimore to Richmond, and were in the need of some Mexican food, and this place was at the right place at the right time. Our server(Chris, maybe?) was prompt, with a quirky sense of humor that was a welcome to change to staring at the sea of tail lights on I-95. The food was good, my mother and I both finished our meals(chicken fajitas and fish tacos, respectively). We never felt like we were really waiting for anything… everything was well-timed. Plus our table was by the TV with the Iron Bowl game.
