Seemingly a nice idea but the 16 year olds working move at a snails pace. Won’t stop here again.

After being wrecked by Hurricane Sandy back in 2012, a years-​long teardown and rebuild has finally resulted in the rise of the nicest rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Clearly a decent architect and designer were hired for this venture, which marries together a modern look and feel with a much more functional design than the previous location. Tall, soaring ceilings, with large windows lets in lots of light. A small patio with outdoor tables will surely be enjoyed in the warmer months. The interior is spacious, well laid out, and feels very vibrant and clean.
Only a few recognizable franchise brands remain like Starbucks and Popeye’s to feed and caffeinate the masses. For everything else, you’ll have to submit to the new «Refresh & Co.» concept from owner/​operator HMS Host. It’s apparently meant to be a good thing, with fresh foods and salads made to order in front of the customer. However, having to place your order on an iPad and pay at an unmanned terminal is suspiciously similar to the dreaded experience that recently took over all of Terminal C in Newark Airport. I haven’t tried any of the food. A coffee at Starbucks is generally all I need when I’m passing through.
All in all, though, an A for effort. Grover would be proud.

Scratch my review from way back when. Came back here after the new year and wow, this service area improved. Everything is newly remodeled and clean. There is fast food (Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen) and healthy food (Creative Salads), as well as a gift shop that sells healthy junk food, mint, fresh fruits, and t-​shirts that read «New Jersey». The seating area is clean and newly designed. Oh, and the bathrooms don’t smell!

Garlic knots are amazing. They have a great selection of pizza and sandwiches and clean bathrooms.

In general, rest stops all blend together with their bland food options and outdated buildings. Not this one! Brand new, just opened 1 week ago, this features a Refresh & Co shop featuring made to order salads (think Chopt), burgers, pizza, and sandwiches, along with a Starbucks and Popeyes. Bright and airy seating area with 30 foot ceilings and lots of light. Clean, brand new bathrooms. This blows away every other rest area on the turnpike.

It feels almost ridiculous to be reviewing a rest stop. BUT. Apparently this rest stop reopened within the past week. It was so clean. The food was fresh and delicious (at a New Jersey rest stop? I know!) And the service at the gas pumps was super. A truly positive rest stop experience.

Newly remodeled and clean rest area on the Turnpike. It just reopened in Nov 2015. It is indeed a change from the other rest areas of the Pike.
The food and drink options are wonderful. Creative salads as well as Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen for your dining options. You have your soda fountain drinks and Starbucks for gourmet coffee. If salads, fried chicken and gourmet coffee are not for you, try one of the other rest areas.
There is an A plus convenience store outside with a handicap accessible ramp which makes this rest area very convenient. There are snacks and a Sunoco Service center if you have some car troubles.
Overall a good option for rest area if you had to choose one for NJ Turnpike Northbound services.

Reopened with new food offerings including Starbucks and ample rest room facilities —

DISGUSTING!!! Porta potties the only resort and they have not been emptied in a very long time! Overflowing, papered and filthy — on a heavily trafficked toll road. The state of NJ should be fined.

Warning: They only have gas service here! The plaza with food and other products is CLOSED!
That being said, it was a decent gas station to stop at. Being out of town, I was not accustomed to having my gas pumped. The attendant was nice and the experience went smooth. I have no issues with this place and they move customers in and out very quickly.

To gain the full experience, visit on two non-​consecutive occasions.

As of about 1÷23÷14 or so, the north bound Grover Cleveland Service Area is closed for FUEL -(as well as food) I drive by every weekday on my way home from work, theres no reason why and it was fine when I was there prior (this is my main fill up spot for gas) As far as a review for service. most of the attendents are nice, I do find everynow and then the same ones seem to be bothered to get off there butts. but its a fine place for gas.

Stopped for gas this weekend. Dont think our windshield has ever been that spotless. Staff was friendly and curteous. So refreshing I had to post! Thank you for making our trip more pleasant!

This place is just amazing. Just incredible. Roy Rogers?! That’s right! Open 24 hours. Incredible, phenomenal, pick your word. Just realize, this is the greatest rest stop in the world.

Thank goodness for New Jersey for offering up spots to pee!
Eh, it’s another of the mediocre rest stops along the New Jersey Turnpike. Lots of parking, gas station, Starbucks, Nathan’s, Popeye’s, gift shop/​newsstand. Not much anything healthy here to eat. If you are starving then this is good for some fast food on the run.
Really — has anyone ever purchased New Jersey souvenirs at these spots? Would anyone be caught dead wearing a New Jersey t-​shirt they purchased here? Yeah — gotta have that NJ Snowglobe!
Bathrooms are large with enough spots to take care of business. Clean enough but I still never want to touch anything.
Hey, if you gotta go, New Jersey is a great spot to leave a deposit!

Stay away from the picnic tables if you plan to eat — there was a continuous bathroom smell that kept passing by. Ewwww.

Dirty, overpriced turnpike hole. However, when you gotta go — you gotta go. Say no more!

Rest Stop /​Toilet run.
Blazing up and down the New Jersey Turnpike, a coworker and I were on the final leg of our whirlwind tour of 4 places we wanted to hit and we realized that we 1) had to race like pisshorses and 2) were hungry.
So after some debate about sitting down somewhere, we decided the faster we got these basic needs out of the way we could hit the last visit and then get the hell out of dodge– and looming out of the shimmering sunny haze we see the rest stop sign honoring the somewhat famous ex president who gave us the great state of Hawaii (ok, stole it. Whatever)
We tooled in there doing about 85, did a nice jag to the right, swerved around a bus load of Asians, two dogs and some gimpy lady, and pulled into a spot almost directly in front of the doors to this place.
They have a few restaurants available to toss some fast food type items down your gullet, pelican style, and the restrooms were clean and well stocked.
We ate, we squirted and we were back out the door in about 15 minutes. I saw gas was tres cheap in the great state of New Jersey, so I topped off my fuel hungry machine and we hit the turnpike to finish our trip.
