This place is one of the best hidden gems I’ve ever came across. Their burgers and fries are awesome, and I mean that in every sense of the word. The Philly cheese steak is equally amazing, if not better! Order ahead of time, unless you got time to spare. The market itself is definitely nothing special which is why I only gave four stars.

Not the top of the line city market. If you need to use the facilities, they are a port-a-poty in the back. The sandwiches, custom made to order, were delicious and you could tell they were made with care. They have the essentials one would need before heading into the canyon and for a reasonable price to. The two staff members working inside were friendly and attentive.

Small town grocery store, they aren’t big but they keep the essentials. They have a small deli counter that makes decent food. We like the tacos, they are better than Taco Bell with lots of meat and cheese. Friendly local market.

I was there the week before Xmas 2011. The shelves are getting barer and barer. There’s not much there, and you’d be well served to drive the 5 miles to James Market and shop local in Kernville.

I love Charlie’s Market. It’s your typical small town neighborhood market that has a little restaurant for fast food. I love the chili cheese fry’s and get stuff like corn dogs and burritos and egg rolls for my grandson’s after school snacks. They make good tacos and are not stingy with the fillings. A great western burger and most of all the ladies that work there are the nicest and friendliest ladies. You become friends with them from just the trips there to pick up the stuff you might need to make dinner that you forgot to get at the market. Charlie’s isn’t the place to do grocery shopping in general because they are expensive. But they have what you need in a pinch and they are a nice place to go. They also have really good sandwiches which are abundant in size. It’s always a nice experience going to Charlie’s and your always greeted like a friend not just a customer. You don’t find that much anymore except in small places like this. For the camper or fisherman here for the day it’s a great place to pick up some stuff you might need or a fast food meal made more like homemade food. They have ice, and stuff to grill, even have ice chests and some fishing stuff. A good place to pick up your beer or wine and give your business to.

Stocked full of all the goodies you might have left at home and has super good and super cheap sandwiches if you are ever too lazy to bring food to the lake with you. Really nice guy running the place, cut me out one bar of soap out of a three pack knowing I only wanted one and charged me way less. Ice, beer, food, all the necessity’s when on vacation or hanging by the lake. Prices are not too bad either.
