The wait staff was incredibly rude. We only ordered An appetizer which was not bad but I would say was lackluster. The margarita one of our group ordered was nearly complete ice(it was ordered on the rocks). We were ignored for over a half an hour after the lackluster appetizer and screwed up drink order and once we did finally get the attention of the waitress she turned around and walked away, and then sent the bartender to our table who was also extremely rude. She told one of us to go outside and smoke(none of us smoke) and«shushed» another one multiple times when we were simply asking for our bill. Our experience was extremely poor and we will never be back. There are plenty of awesome places in the Dells, don’t waste your time or money here!

Decided to try this bar/restaurant which has a beautiful view of the lake. Tried cheese curds and wings. Disappointed that in the dells, the curds basically came out of a box like I went to the grocery store into the fryer. The wings were nothing special here either. Was hoping for some homemade items instead of just frozen items dropped in a fryer. Very nice staff though

Had a good gyro, but they changed the menu last month so this is the last gyro I’ll be able to get.

No more 32oz steak! New owners changed the menu, and much of the reviewed food is no longer on the menu. We came here specifically for the 32oz steak we read about on reviews. Not only is it no longer on the menu, there is no steak on the menu at all. It was a big disappointment. The food was decent bar food, the outdoor seating was great, and the staff was OK. If I was reviewing a bar I just stopped at, I would give it 3 stars. But since I came here for the food I read on reviews, and by looking at their menu online(same day), I only gave it 2.

If you are looking for the old place with the 32oz steak and crab and shrimp this is no longer it. The place felt dirty and was full of drunks. They have a 10oz steak that’s not on the menu but they were overlooked and dry. The Philly cheesesteak was pretty good. This is just bar food. We miss the old place.

The 16 oz steak was tasteless, cold, and pink(I had ordered medium well and had to send it back). Worst steak ever, and the mashed potatoes were not better either. The salad bar was poor, no mushrooms or olives, things you expect, right? But it did have the things that you don’t expect: a fly flying over the lettuces. Won’t go back there.

No more Steak !! Totally no reason to come back. We came here for the famous 32oz steak. We had come here 3 years ago and it was delicious. I had in the past gotten the butterfly shrimp and those were also good. No update to the website and now they no longer serve steak and no shrimp, just sandwiches and bar food. I understand new ownership means new things, but just increase the prices don’t take away all the main food. My husband got a burger which was ok. And I got the nachos. No more steak, no more fish on the menu except for the fish fry on weekends. Giving it 3 stars because it was decent bar food.

Went here tonight for dinner with 2 adults and 4 kids. Food was your typical for the dells lots of fried food. I thought it was pricey at 60 bucks plus tax and tip with no alcoholic drinks. I prefer culver for price

After seeing the reviews on Unilocal(especially for the 32 oz. steak) my husband, 10 year old twins, I, and my parents stopped here for dinner while staying in the Dells. It was about 7:00 and we chose to sit out on the deck overlooking Lake Delton because it was a beautiful evening and the sun was just starting to set beyond the trees. My husband and 10 year old daughter ordered their Dinner for 2 — a «World Famous» 32 oz. steak smothered in fried mushrooms & onions, including salad bar, each a choice of potato, and they also ordered the 6 crab legs. My mom and I both had the 8 fantail shrimp with choice of potato and salad bar, my dad had their Sunday special of babyback ribs with choice of potato and salad bar, and my 10 year old son had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. First off, I can say that my husband and daughter are pretty particular when it comes to steak, and they both could not get enough of the 32 ouncer! It was made to perfection(ordered medium), and the crab legs were absolutely to die for! The shrimp was just as delicious, along with the babybacks and bacon cheeseburger. Everything was amazing. One of the waitstaff even offered to take a family picture of us(as I was taking a pic of the rest of my family) with the beautiful lake in the background… Thank you! It was so much food we had leftovers for the next day. I also want to add that our bill, with drinks, was only $ 3 more than our previous night’s dinner at Moosejaw, where we had ordered a 14 oz. steak, 3 sandwiches, and drinks(which was only about half the amount of food that we received at Port Vista). We will definitely be back to Port Vista on our next visit to the Dells!

My wife and I have been going to the Dells with our respective families for the past 30 years since we were kids. Now we have our own kids. We have never eaten at Port Vista until this year. We went for four days/three nights and ate here twice. We absolutely love this place. Very kid friendly with a great deck view. Kids had Spaghetti O’s! Who offers those on the menu! I had the chicken cordon blue and my wife had the Kitchen Sink Burger. This place is a must try. It does not look like much on the outside, but trust me, it is worth it. Price wise and service wise. And owner Monika is a riot!

I would never recommend this restaurant slash dive bar. We waited almost 2 hours for 2 cheese burgers and a hot dog. The sad thing was that they weren’t even busy. Don’t waste your time.

My family had fish fry and popcorn shrimp. My wife had the baked cod and I had the fried cod, both were great. The salad bar was fresh and very tasty. My kids had popcorn shrimp with fries and they loved it.

This will be my first and last time to Port Vista while visiting the Dells area. Because I’ve seen clip joints before but this one really stings! The advertisements read«World Famous» 32oz. steak $ 21.95. Who could pass that up right? Well, to make it even more tantalizing the Tuesday special is a 32oz. steak with 6 Fantail Shrimp for only $ 24.95. Alright now I’m really game. They’ve set the hook, that’s for sure. Hook, line and sinker more like. O. K. I get to Port Vista on Tuesday for the special. You got it, first of all the menu has been revised to the«new» prices. Once there it cost $ 29.95; false advertising. But I was persistant, didn’t back off and ordered steak medium rare with baked potatoe and sour cream for an additional charge of $ 1.75. Oh, you want sauted’ mushrooms & onions with your steak? Add another $ 3.25! After over an hour wait for my meal which was an excercise in extreme patience and anticipation I couldn’t wait to eat. But, this was one of the biggest let downs I’ve ever experienced. They had no baked potatoes and it came with French frys. How classy is that? The steak was way over cooked to medium well to well doneness. It was just horrible. What does this cook do — wait until it’s medium rare then go outside and smoke a cigarette for 10 minutes while the food is ruined on the grill? What a total failure for a chef. The meat was totally bland, dryed out and marinaded in some tenderizer that ruined the meat. It was like eating tasteless cardboard with some onion powder on it. Unfit for a dog. I could not eat more than a few bites. Then, when I received the check it still included the upcharge for baked potato and sour cream when they were out. After correcting the bill with one draft beer to help choke down a terribly crappy steak dinner the bill was $ 37.47. Think what this could buy at a really decent reputable resturant for the money. The possibilities are endless! And there are very good resturants in the Dells. However, this isn’t one of them. If you haven’t heard yet, «Don’t waste your money. Order a pizza and buy a six-pack.»

I always try to support local business but I felt like we weren’t wanted here. The entire restaurant was empty but they would not let us move tables(we were literally the only people in the restaurant) even though our table was right over the floor heating vent. The waitress told us there was no soup even though I saw her take it out of a giant pot in the kitchen and bring some to the person at the bar. The food was just okay. I had the chicken tenders and they tasted like they were Costco. Dressing is not homemade. They bring out little sealed containers. On the bright side, the fries were good.

I try to avoid chain restaurants and touristy restaurants when on vacations, so this cozy little place showed promise, especially after I read the Unilocal reviews. Gotta start by saying, I don’t understand the hype. If you’re looking for a 32oz steak, yeah, they’ve got it and for only about $ 22. I ordered mine medium and it was a bit underdone and bloody. Good thing, too, because this was a tough and chewy sirloin. But for $ 22, it’s hard to complain too much. My wife had the Buffalo Wing Basket, and it was not good. Very, very vinegary sauce. Either they need to learn how to make their own sauce or they need to try out another bottled sauce. Could barely even taste the chicken. Did I mention that the sauce was way too vinegary? Came with six wings, fries, blue cheese dressing, and cole slaw. She was only able to finish 4 wings. Fries were crinkle cut and okay. The blue cheese dressing was one of the blandest dressings, I’ve ever had. Not just one of the blandest blue cheese dressings, but one of the blandest dressings, period. Not sure what it was. The slaw came out lukewarm and flavorless so after the initial first bite(which she spit out), done. I’m not sure why I’m giving this place 2 stars, maybe because the steak was such a good deal, although not a great steak. I don’t know. Oh yeah the waitress was very nice and provided good service, plus there was a little girl about 10 or 11 years old who sat us down and brought water and menus to our table who was very sweet. I had high hopes after reading the reviews, and I really wanted to like the place. Too bad.

Charming restaurant, off-the-tourist-track, and well worth the small detour. The hostess and waitress were super friendly and welcoming, even when we looked a little apprehensive when we walked in. Steaks are the thing here, and they will melt in your mouth. And the almost unbelieveably low prices too! Oh– and don’t be cheap– when you place your steak order, upgrade the standard french fries to the onion rings, they are excellent. We will definitely be back next time we get to the Dells. One other tip: Mind the deer on your way. They are almost errily numerous.

Went here after I saw reviews on Unilocal about a 32oz steak, and they did not disappoint! Had the family with me, and they offer the same steak for two with the option to add crab legs. My wife and 9 y/o had that, a burger for my 13 y/o, a hot dog for my 5y/o, and the 32oz steak for myself. No A1 needed, the mushrooms, onions and seasoning was flavorful enough. And they cooked it just like I like it, medium well. The cole slaw and baked potato were excellent sides. Had a Long Island to wash it all down. Everyone was full and satisfied. Nice little local spot, I’ll definitely be back!
