Don’t waste your time and money. Tried the breakfast buffet, overpriced and bland. $ 30 for 2 people! You would think, it being a resort buffet, there would be a huge variety of food to choose from. Very small buffet. If you want fresh, this is not the place to go. Go to IHOP!

This buffet is not worth the price. Even with a $ 25 credit from Groupon, the bill was still over $ 30 and the food was the quality of Old Country Buffet. I am not sure why but I expected more from a «resort». In addition, the staff had a really difficult time keeping food on the buffet. I waited for 15 minutes for bacon. We will not be back. If you are staying at this«resort», do yourself a favor and go into town to Denny’s for breakfast.

Came in between lunch & Breakfast. I was with my family so it was a total of 7. The food was really good compared to other buffets in the Dells. Everywhere we went they had pizza and pasta as the buffet. Here they had a much BIGGER variety & the fruit buffet was included as well. They had an omelet station! Which was the BEST. We had Anna make them for each one of us she was extremely friendly & had us laughing while we waited. The servers Zhana & Vladmira kept coming by the table to see if we need anything put weren’t pushy at all which I loved, because everywhere else we went they were too pushy or just looked like they hated their jobs. All the food was fresh chicken, fish etc. If you want variety this would be the place to go it is a bit pricey but worth it all in the end !!! I will be going back next I vacation at the Dells.

We loved everything else about Chula Vista but this restaurant. It was marketed as something that it was not. It was similar to Pizza Ranch or StoneFire Grill as far as the buffet goes. We were expecting this amazing buffet, especially for the price. The pictures and advertising for the buffet make it seem as if you are going to get fresh fruits, veggies, seafood and cut beef. You will absolutely not get this! You can get: fried mini tacos, mini corn dogs, stuffed shells, mediocre pizza. Drinks are extra and the dessert bar was an extra $ 4.99. What??? We decided not to get the dessert for our family of 5 but it looked horrible. Yucko!

Buffet is advertised as «Las Vegas style» buffet. Not really. Selection was OK, but not nearly as awesome as the typical LV buffet. It’s in the Chula Vista resort, by the registration desk. Nice looking restaurant, looks good. Server was very attentive, helpful, came back frequently to check on us, answered questions easily(and correctly). Now, the not so good stuff. Way overpriced at $ 21.96 per person, plus 11.99 per pound if you wanted crab legs, which are not included on the buffet. Food was mediocre, some dishes had not been refreshed for a while and were pretty dried out. When fresh pans were brought out, it looked like they were probably sitting under warmers in the kitchen, as they also looked dried out, particularly the BBQ ribs. Pizza, spaghetti were both dry. Cod was moist however, and my wife said it was good. Bottom, for the price, would have expected better.

Like everything else at Chula Vista, this place wasn’t so great I’d race back, but I’ve experienced much, much worse. It was a lot like your first glass of 1% milk. I’d like to take a moment to bitch-slap all the idiots that waste half the crab legs they pile on their plates at buffets. Saaaaaaa-LAP! Now that you’ve ruined it for everybody at yet another venue, it gives me great pleasure to put on a 3 hour show of how to do it right. Pound after pound after $ 12 pound are brought to me all steamy and salty-sweet while you spend your entire meal dodging my succulent shrapnel. You wonder if it will ever end and grimace as I loudly crack each leg segment an extra time or two to really drive my point home before dipping strips of meat you would have sent to the landfill into a final bath of delicious drawn butter… and then my watering mouth. See, up until a couple years ago, I had to watch you and your unappreciative family rip through the meatiest portions, leaving the rest for refuse as you raced to the line to rape the next batch. It would make me sick. Now, I’ll relax and gladly pay the extra price so you don’t feel free to abuse the ocean’s greatest gift. So, in case you haven’t heard… Crab legs are no longer automatically included in the dinner buffet. No worries. I’m sure there’s still other food, but I’m not certain it’s worth $ 20 an adult. Of note, we never ate lunch here because breakfast was so filling, what with all the salted meats and egg-y dishes and waffles and such. It was a pretty decent spread and they even had steel cut oatmeal for good measure. After eating here twice, a couple things became really clear: flies are definitely welcome and they don’t have enough staff to adequately cover all available seating, let alone the seats they actually fill.

Second day of vacation & we had the breakfast buffet included in the package. First day was ok, service was adequate & helpful. My wife was sick & unable to go to the buffet. The hostess fixed it for us to get a to-go container so I could get her some food. Really appreciated that Day 2 was not as good. I ordered coffee for me and orange juice for my wife. A carafe of coffee was delivered to our table while we were getting our food but not a coffee mug. Waitress didn’t show up for 15 minutes before we spotted her & told her about forgetting the coffee mug. Also asked for a refill on the OJ and she said it was extra for the juice and any subsequent refill. What? That was not the case on day 1. Now to the food. Nothing special. The best part are the omelette station & the«do it yourself» waffle station. Everything else was blah. And what’s with the FLIES. eeeew Nasty. I would not come back here.

Our family has frequented the Market Fresh Buffet every visit to Chula Vista which has usually been at least a few times a year for now going on five years. This USED to be our favorite spot in the mid-west for all-you-care-to-eat giant snow crab legs, but no more. To our dismay the crab is now a la carte at 16.99 for 1 lb, 29.99 for 2 lbs. Mind you this is on TOP of $ 21.99 per person that you are paying. I was going to order the snow crab but the rest of the buffet was appalling: potatoes were raw, mussels and calamari were cold, my kids who usually are high class eaters resorted only to Spaghetti-O’s and a slice of pizza that they took half bites and quit. The best was the ‘fresh’ pasta bar, cooked to order. My wife ordered a pesto tortellini which came swimming in literally a full cup of olive oil. It was disgusting. A lady behind her looked at her plate and said«I think I’ve lost my appetite for that… that looks really greasy doesn’t it?» After calling the chef and manager over to our table I demonstrated the copious cupful of oil that I drained off my wife’s plate and pointed out the rest of the disgrace of a meal that they wanted nearly $ 100 for! $ 100 for canned Spaghetti-O’s — certainly I was not wanting to pay for olive oil. We demanded a comp for the meal which was graciously granted by the head manager and she was nice enough to run down our kids’ shoes that we left behind so kudos to her for doing a good job personally, and thanks. But as for the restaurant as a whole? I’m disheartened by the direction it has gone, saddened by the loss of the all-you-can-eat crab legs feature, and predict this spot’s demise soon if things don’t change.

I would not advise anyone eat at this buffet. I had a voucher for a free dinner buffet one time and I was not impressed. Soggy food, desert options were pathetic… Service was horrible… These reviews don’t need to be long to get to the point that the buffet is not worth the money. Dinner is 21.95 for an adult! They don’t even include crab legs anymore. Go to Ho-Chunk, there buffet is actually pretty good and about the same price.

Part of our All Inclusive package so it was pretty good. Decent food, decent selection. Some items better than others. That being said, if I had paid full price for the buffett, I wouldn’t be thrilled. Giving it 3 stars for THAT reason. Basically comes out to $ 50 for breakfeast, lunch, dinner… Better meals to be had for that price…

The buffet meal itself is great. I love eating there any chance I get. The staff at the buffet has been wonderful. I give that aspect 5 stars. However the bar is another issue. We have had bad experiences with the bar tenders a couple times now. The last bar tender was truly awlful in personality and attitude. She gets one star. She did pour a great bloody mary though and they have a decent beer selection. Therefore for a combined rating I give it a 3 star rating. Eat at the buffet, avoid the terrible bar tenders!

Well I guess this is what I would expect from a resort eatery. In saying that, I suggest you keep this in mind as well. Sadly if you are staying at Chula Vista this is probably the only place you are going to get any breakfast. First off we dumbfoundedly stood at the front entrance for longer than expected while three employees stood at the counter. Two payed no attention but looked like they were working on something, okay I understand. The third just stood there staring off into space. I was making it pretty apparent that we intended to eat there but finally had to ask her if we could get seats. Were were solemnly walked to our table by a hostess that appeared to be uninterested in being at work that day. The food is okay and gets the job done. Except I don’t usually eat much for breakfast so a buffet is kind of overkill and hard to get my money’s worth. Thankfully our table server was very nice, cheerful, attentive, and always smiling. Although I think she was the ONLY one there in a positive mind. Everyone else(hostess, other servers, table busers) were all moaping around and appeared to be sulking. Is it really that hard to find good summer workers today or are all high school students this lethargic? People seriously attitude has much to do with it. I highly suggest Chula Vista urges improvement’s here as this also reflects on their image. I would be very unlikely to return to either place.

Obviously these reviews aren’t from the afternoon/evening buffet because we ate here and it was fabulous! All u can eat crab was great. Fresh pasta to your specs and the pizza is hand thrown and cooked in a brick oven. Chef Nick is a great and friendly chef. I highly recommend eating here.

Honestly, I never really expect much from buffets. Having said that, I’d say this place was slightly above average but nothing to rave about. They had a pretty good variety. The fruit was really fresh and I enjoyed a few of their hot items. But it was very hit or miss.

We saw the Market Fresh Buffet add in the Wisconsin Dells vacation guide. We wanted to eat all you can eat and drove to the Chula Vista Resort Hotel to check it out. The restaurant atmosphere is very impressive but the quality of food is okay and the price for the buffet is not worth paying for.

We decided to eat here after a day of swimming. The kids(3&4) were starving and wanted to eat right away so we decided to try the buffet. Kids dinner was $ 5 with drinks so that wasn’t bad. The kids had pizza, chicken, corn dogs and milk. They were satisfied. I started off with the crab legs which weren’t bad. They were not soggy and not small like some of the buffet places that serve crab legs. There was not a lot of selection but enough to get me full. They also have a pasta station but I didn’t try it or the dessert. Convenience is the main reason we ate here and would probably eat here again if we stayed @ Chula Vista.

I can’t salvage this place from the other reviews, but I can say that the food isn’t that horrible… for the Dells. It’s just not worth the money for the meal. There were a lot of fried items. but we just went for the carved beef and the crab legs. Both were a little dry, but after hitting the waterparks. hunger is a big thing and a great motivator to eat. Mostly you are paying for the convenience, so come here for that factor.

The Market Fresh Buffet is inside the Chula Vista Resort hotel just off the main lobby. We dined here because we were visiting the water park and had the all inclusive package, which meant we got to eat at the buffet at no extra charge. The idea sounded really good, but after having dinner there two nights in a row the very thought of even smelling the food in there again made me feel nauseous. They boast that they have«live action» stations where you can have food prepared for you on the spot. The whole term, «live action station» made me think I might see people in lab coats looking at moving amoebas and other bacteria under a microscope. The truth is they are just areas where chefs who looked thoroughly bored and underpaid for such torture, fry up some pasta in a pan and serve it to the fifty people standing in line for it I don’t know what the food at the«live action» stations was like, because I refused to wait in line for an hour at a buffet. But maybe I should have because… The rest of the food was pretty sad. The young kid we had with us loved it because they had school lunch specials there like smiley face potatoes, mini corn dogs, popcorn chicken, and spaghetti-O’s! Yay, happy fun time. Everything really was soggy, mushy, with rice filler, or strange sauces that made you think, «what the hell is this?» Even the pizza was soggy from sitting there for too long under the heat lamps. Since this is a buffet, the idea is that you help yourself. But you still have a waiter who is SUPPOSED to bring your drinks and refills thereafter. However, every time we ate there our waiter stopped by once and then disappeared only to return at the end to give you the form you had to sign as part of the all inclusive deal. On one particular night we stopped our busy waitress as she tried to run by, and asked about dessert. The buffet sucked balls so hard we thought, «hey maybe the dessert will save us.» NOT. The waitress looked appalled that we asked about it. There was no dessert bar or anything like that at the buffet, instead they bring around a tray and you select what you want from the different slices of desserts. My dining companion and the kid chose cheesecake. They were teeny tiny little slices and when I asked how they tasted dining companions didn’t have much to say. So it must have been mushy, flavorless crap just like the rest of the buffet. There was a lot of strangeness here. Despite the soggy, mushy, mess they served, it was awfully stinky for being so flavorless. The only thing that was nice about this place was the décor. I’ve heard they charge 25 dollars per person for the dinner buffet, but in reality I think they should be paying you 25 dollars to stay away so you won’t give them a shitty review like this one.

I don’t expect much from buffets, but once in a while I actually enjoy them. Sweet Tomatoes or a good Chinese buffet is fun once in a blue moon(by that I mean maybe once a year). But this buffet was just not good. It was actually bad. Gross. Revolting. It was so bad I enjoyed myself. The food was lousy. Not just prepared poorly, but poor selection. Spaghetti-O’s? Chicken Stuffed Ostrich? Bean and ham stew? Yuk. Even the normal foods were terrible. The bread was all stale and obviously just defrosted from the freezer. The soup had a layer of skin on the top. The salad was wilted and room temperature. The turkey and ham had been sitting under heat lamps for hours or days and looked dried out. The only thing I actually enjoyed here was the mini corn dogs with mustard. Oh, and the frantic waitress literally running around the restaurant from table to table… that was really fun to watch. I can’t imagine why people line up for this place at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
