Webster First Federal Credit Union

The only reason I opened an account with WFFCU was because they offered a good interest rate for my car. After that it was easily the worst financial institution I have used for checking and savings. Transferring money and bill pay is riddled with issues. When I finally went to close my account I found I had a negative balance to pay off because my phone request to end all of my auto pay bills was never honored and I was hit with bounced check and overdraft fees for two months without notification. Even though I been told two months earlier that everything was canceled, they would not remove the fees because they «had no record» of a bill pay cancellation. $ 250 dollars in fees later I am so happy have my account closed and never have to deal with them again. Places like this give credit unions a really bad reputation.
Also, last year I paid off that car loan and attempted to sell my car to a private party a couple months afterwords. The buyer called me back pissed because he tried to register the car in his name but the RMV wouldn’t do it because their records showed I still owed money on it to Webster First. I paid the car off and Webster First never sent in the documents to the RMV stating that the car was paid off even though I had title in hand. Was such a nightmare.

I always enjoy my banking experience here. Love the customer service and people are always helpful.

I have been a member of the Credit Union for the past year. I find their banking hours are convenient and branch locations are accessible. I mainly visit the Winthrop location. The Credit Union is also a member of the Co-​op Network. This is a great feature where it allows you to bank at other credit unions that are part of this co-​op. I am very pleased with the services at the Credit Union. The Branch Manager in Winthrop has been very kind and extremely knowledgeable. I plan to continue banking here and also apply for an auto loan in the future. I recommend Webster First.

I received a loan through Webster. The whole process was very painless and the people were very nice.
I did actually try to sign up for online banking with them, but found the process confusing.
I finally decided not to sign up for it, plus I on purpose did not get an ATM card for this account. This is actually perfect for me! I have some money direct deposited into the account every payday, then I just leave it there. I am finally saving money! It’s a great feeling.

I am only a member because it bought out my credit union. Worst service, their on-​line banking is always down. I only stay because of the customer service at my local branch.
