These guys are great! Our first fatbike rental and we had fun. They took the time to answer all of our questions and get us squared away. The equipment was very high quality and very new. The conditions were soft in places so we were pretty tired after nearly three hours on the snow so we took the bikes back early and they gave us a refund on half the day. They did not need to do that. That is the kind of customer service that builds loyalty.

Love this place! Went to head out on a bike ride and kid #1 had broken brakes and kid #2 had a tire that wouldn’t inflate. Quick drop in and $ 20 later both kids are on the road. THANKYOU!!!

Helped me out of a jam on a busy holiday week-end with a quick dérailleur fix. Much appreciated and highly recommend these guys.

This place is awesome. We came in to talk MTB trails and they spent a lot of time helping us understand what would be best for our first weekend in Winthrop. Then of course we started talking bikes and I mentioned that my outer ring got bent yesterday. They offered to fix it right on the spot. This may be one of the best bicycle shop experiences I have ever had. They are knowledgeable, friendly and cool. Definitely going back next time in town.

This is one of the best bike shops I’ve been to in a long time, and I go to a lot of bike shops. My buddy and I went to Winthrop for a MTB event. Going over the pass caused my buddy’s disc brakes to lock up on his bike. We took it in to the shop and they fixed it for us and gave the bike a good once over. But what was most impressive, was the mechanic(Joe, also part owner) called my buddy back and showed him how to do the repair him self the next time it happens. He showed us the tool we would need, and gave us a tutorial on how to bleed a brake. I’ve never had a mechanic do that before. I hope to get over to Winthrop to ride more in the future, and when I do, I know I can stop in and get good advice from the folks in this shop. No attitude, no hype, just solid people doing what they like.

I have been to this shop several times a year for the past 5 years, and I am always impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable and personable owners, Joe and Julie. They somehow remember my face and always ask how I am and how work is going over on «the other side» i.e. Seattle. Inevitably, I find what I need there– whether a water bottle, a ski hat, a map or some advice about trail conditions and am happily on my way. I’m in the market for a new bike, and although Seattle has some rad shops, I’m going to wait and get a bike from these folks.

I’ve visited this shop a couple times on visits to Winthrop and every time I’ve left with an awesome experience. I’ve never made any major purchases, but everyone working has always gone above and beyond in helping me discover what the Methow Valley has to offer. Need a rental or parts, sure, this is your place. However, take a pop in while you’re in town and get some recommendations from some folks who are really dedicated to building recreation in the area.

These guys were super friendly and helpful in renting us fat bikes to play around in the snow. They recommended an awesome trail and gave us great directions to get there. They made out last day of a long weekend in the valley a perfect one!

This shop would be a gem anywhere. Having it in Winthrop makes it, to steal a quote from OSB: a destination shop. Joe and Julie are both terrific people people, as is Dave, the main three folks I’ve dealt with. After I completed the axel Merckx gran fondo in penticton July 13th in 106 F temps and thought my left foot was going to explode, Joe said he’d experienced similar and to get custom insoles in my fancy pearl Izumi carbon shoes. The rigid platform is hell on them little meta tarsal bones. So, I relaxed while they heated up the shimano boot warmer device. A little trimming of the soles, a few well placed foam supports later I tried them back on. Beautiful. Good for another ten thousand miles. Methow cycle has a full selection of road and mountain bikes, and you gotta try the fat bikes in the winter, even if like me you are a diehard Nordic and tele skier. Heck, rent a fat bike to access some backcountry trails why don’t cha.

We visited the Methow Valley for a first time winter vacation last weekend. All three members of our family were new to XC skiing and snow shoe hiking. This shop did a great job setting us up with gear, basic use and where to go. I highly recommend them for newbies.

Prior to coming out to Winthrop this summer I looked up Methow Cycle & Sport. I knew I would want to do some cycling while visiting. The service was great and the prices were super reasonable. The folks at Methow Cycle & Sport outfitted me with a nice hard tail mountain bike and a local trail map. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to ride all the way up to the trails. I only rode the hilly roads that lead to the trails seemed like 10 miles. Nonetheless, I had a great workout, and I enjoyed the wonderful scenery. Oh yeah, and my speedy descent back into town was good fun too! Upon returning the bike, I picked up one of the shops cool souvenir shirts and orange water bottle. I like souvenirs from cool shops :)

Joe’s bike shop in Winthrop carries all your biking needs, and more! By far one o’ the coolest bike shops, bar none! Joe’s unerring patience at customizing & fixing my aerodynamic seat post clamp yesterday totally made my day. Definitely top notch customer service and the bike mechanics are super knowledgeable at their trade. Joe and his staff were super helpful at recommending bike routes as well. Definitely stop by Methow Cycle & Sport. You won’t be disappointed! Doug Funk

Joe made sure we were able to try out this new(to the Methow) sport. He juggled around times and even made a personal bike available to us so we could go. If you haven’t tried this yet, I highly recommend! You get an amazing aerobic workout to be sure, and the bike doesn’t tear up the groomers– you just float on top of the trail. The brakes are awesome too, cable disc. Check out the looks you get as you pass a skate skier!(I also recommend giving wide berth to all skiers) The Methow Cycle will also have a loaner helmet for you to use. A great place to rent equipement from.

Located off the main drag on the 20 in Winthrop, we wondered into this great lil bike/ski rental shop for the infamous Snow Bike Rental. The staff was great about finding us a few hours slot on a booked up Snow Bike weekend. Great staff, clothes, gear for sale and for rent. They even had a changing room which worked well for us to change out of our ski/bike clothes before our drive home to Seattle. I would reccommend a stop in this shop if in the area. Come by and take a look at the fat tire snow bikes!

We came in for a nice weekend of adventuring around the Methow Valley. I was able to make reservations on a nice Kona Kahuna for the missus to ride for the day. The lady who helped us, who I suspect is a co-owner, got us into a well fitting a bike, provided a couple of free maps of the area and recommended two separate routes that were both great. Pricing was in line with what I’ve paid elsewhere, the shop had quality brands, lots of inventory and were easy to find in town. We even came back and renewed our Northwest Access parking pass the next day enroute to a climb.
