Service was excellent, our servers were very friendly. The ambiance was perfect — we sat outside under the string lights and enjoyed a few beers and sourdough bread and butter while waiting for our food. This place makes an excellent clam chowder, which came with the entrée. Their chicken alfredo is a different story — we all ordered this dish and the best way to describe it is it tasted like it came out of a can. It tasted like warm, thick metallic cream and the chicken had no flavor. No hint of garlic and no hint of parmesan — I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the worst chicken alfredo I’ve ever had in my life. I took it home to see if I could fix it($ 16.95 a dish will do that to you) and I ended up throwing it away. Also, $ 4.95 to split a dish? Kind of steep.

Waiting time is 45′ even seeing no one at the door. Bar area won’t be serving any food either before your waiting time. Suck! No wonder no one was sitting there. We drove 1:30′ and chose this restaurant. But they turned us down by the waiting time. We left and never wanted to come back and try again. They should have posted on Unilocal reservation only so we won’t have to waste our time and gas.

This is our go-to place for a meal. Great atmosphere and service, inside or out on their new patio. Tony’s New York Steak Mushrooms is the best steak in town! The pickled onions on the salad are just divine, and have inspired me to make my own at home so we can always have them around for a garnish. The homemade soups and specials are always something delectable, too many goodies to list. To sum it up, Tomat’s can always be counted on for a great meal from breakfast to dinner, burger to chicken to steak. Family, group, and kid-friendly. The small-town service is wonderful, and feels like you are visiting old friends rather than dining in a restaurant. Highly recommended.

Very impressive! We found this gem on the way to Travis AFB. VERY good salad, lasagna soup, chicken Alfredo, and Cajun chicken. The staff were very friendly and nice. The manager promised a dessert on her if we come back. We will be back for sure if we have the time.

Going to Tomat’s for Sunday brunch or evening dinner is like going home; Tony, Susan and the entire staff make you feel like you’re part of the family. We’ve been going to Tomat’s for years and we’ve never had anything but delicious(large) meals. We highly recommend Tomat’s to our family and friends. When family come in from out of town, they want to go to Tomat’s for Sunday brunch; it’s the best!

I enjoyed my avocado-Swiss burger, as well as having to wait over 50 minutes for it. It also took over 20 minutes for the check to come. It is sad that a restaurant with good food is pulled down by the wait time.

I don’t eat here as much as I should. My wife and I plus the dog had dinner last evening at their outside dining area. The food was excellent and service was constant. They take great care of you here. I had their sample platter of ribs, pork chop and sausage, really too much food. I’ll have leftovers for lunch today. I plan to eat here more often. Our little boutique town of Winters has many great choices and I need to place Tomat’s near the top of my list.

Ok, first of all, been living in winters for over a year and a half now. I called about valentines day dinner reservations and the guy on the phone said it was formal. So, we didn’t end up going. Thought we would give it another try for father’s day brunch. Wasn’t too bad, food was ok, but it was anything but formal. So, me and the wife try to give it a shot for an early dinner. We like appetizers, so we get almost the whole menu. NOTGOOD. I’m assuming most everything is frozen. Quality of food not great. Service was pretty good though. Needs a Gordon Ramsay makeover, with the front of the house, back of the house, and the food.

Wow talk about a diamond in the rough! We were looking for a non-fast food, well lit restaurant for my hungry family to eat breakfast at that wasn’t over run with flies, grease, and décor from the early 90s, so we were pleasantly surprised to find Tomat’s, a five min detour off 505. Greeted by friendly, young staff and seated promptly, was delighted to find a great selection of hot drinks and delicious food that came out quickly. Bloody Mary was perfect and tasted outstanding(had the country omelet) we will be sure to stop by in the future when cruising through.

A restaurant that make you feel like your sitting in moms kitchen. The food is great. Try to order one of the daily specials. But if none of the specials are hitting the spot then I suggest prime rib, a steak or a burger.

My family used to enjoy the Basque restaurant that used to occupy this same space. We recently went back for a birthday to check it out. Very nice place. Great customer service. They even brought out a special dessert and sang happy birthday. Food was excellent. Wish they had a few more options-but quality is better than quantity as far as choices. We will be back!

Food is ok. I had the charbroiled rib eye. Very good but my friend order the same and it was very tough to chew it. Pork shank was very good. Desserts too sweet, ok. Family place. We had fun. Price is ok.

Husband took me here for my birthday and everything was outstanding! His friend Alex was our server and did an excellent job! The owners are also super nice they let my husband drop off balloons and flowers for our table. The food was beyond high quality! I never had pork chops served to me like they did! My husband normally don’t eat lamb but he ordered a BBQ lamb sandwich and it was amazing along with the fries. I’ve been recommending this place to all my clients.

GREAT food, GREAT service! Love this place, wish they were open 7 days/week, but it is a family owned and operated restaurant. I’ve been eating here for years, and love it. Large menu, fun, imaginative specials, something for everyone. Great(not stingy) drinks!

I was here many moons ago, and was not impressed. But boy howdy, how they’ve changed!!! New owners took over awhile back and it’s transformed into a fantastic dining experience. To sum it up in one small paragraph it is the nicest home town experience of a sit down meal you’ll ever have. Trust me, I’ve been to a lot of places lately. And hands down, they are the most friendly AND have the most amazingly delicious food!!! Not a lot of places can say that. I cannot say enough good things about this place, but if you don’t want to hear me go on and on… just take my word for it! They are a wonderful restaurant to visit. :)

I had an awful night and I didn’t even get to try the food! My anniversary is on Valentine’s Day so I always expect a frantic server, a big crowd and some mistakes but this was way more than I could tolerate! We made reservations and waited for a half an hour to be seated while the locals were sat immediately. Everyone one had table cloths but we had been sat at a table with plastic even though some with nice table settings were still open. We bought a bottle of wine and waited patiently for our server to come back. She was lovely and tried very hard to make it special for us but then shift changed. Our new server did not really care. Everything that looked good on the menu had ran out. While waiting for our bread for fifteen minutes and our new server we just decided to go elsewhere.

We were able to get a last minute reservation on Valentine’s Day so having to wait a bit for our table was expected. We had a drink in the bar while waiting — Sue, the bartender, was friendly and was a true professional with dealing with the very busy bar. Our dinner was superb! I had the salmon and my husband had the lamb chops. I usually order salmon when out to dinner and I have to say this was the best I’ve ever had! They had run out of potatoes so they offered a choice if pasta-I had the garlic and olive oil which was delicious! Great food, good service and very reasonable prices make this a new favorite of ours. The only negative is the lighting — it would really help to dim it down a bit as it’s a little bright.

My Wife and I tried Tomat’s tonight for the first time and likely will not go back. The calamari appetizer was cooked well and had a nice batter done. The two dipping sauces were out of a jar and lacked any personality at all. My Wife ordered Chicken Marsala which was cooked fine and had a good flavor but nothing more then you could manage at home. She liked the pickled onions in her salad but the rest of the salad contents were bland and from a can. My barley soup was thin and watery and had a heavy tomato base flavor to it and was lukewarm when served. I ordered the Shrimp and Sausage Sauté and to be honest it was one of the worse things I have had in quite awhile. The shrimp were either very old, freezer burned, over cooked or all of the above and just a step below being rubber. As well the tail shells were left on when in this type of dish should of been removed and from the ones I were served they did not appear to have been cleaned or deveined. A big culinary no-no. As well the dish when served was just above room temp. The sausage bits lacked flavor and were cooked fine. The remainder of the dish with the spinach, mushrooms and onions were just soupy and lacked any real flavor at all. For your information I am a professionally trained chef and baker so my opinion does come from what I know and what I have done. On a side note the wine we ordered was excellent but we had had it before at another location and were confident in its quality . The wait staff was both pleasant and efficient no problems there, The dining area could be improved by having real tables instead of folding ones and by having white linen tables vs. green vinyl truck stop ones. Reviewers that have stated this is better then Putah Creek or Buckhorn must not have eaten at either. Wish I could have been more positive.

Best chicken fried steak ever. This place is family owned & run. They are really off the beaten path in Winters, Ca, but they are absolutely worth the detour. I try to get there whenever I visit my daughters in Davis. Even tho they are excellent at any time, I especially enjoy their Sunday Brunch. This time I took a pic of their chicken fried steak, because it was really the best I have ever had. The prices are also very reasonable(hate to use the word cheap). But the tab for the four of us was UNDER $ 60.00, WITH Champagne & a Bloody Mary, which was also darn good. GIVETHEMYOURBUSINESS… I love this place :-)
