I am leaving this review not to be malicious but simply to give an accurate representation of my experience. This review is long over due, and occurred a couple of months ago. Everyone at the salon was very friendly, and I am thankful for that. Unfortunately, if there is one thing I have learned from my cut and color experience here, is do not get your hair cut or colored in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. I asked for highlights and showed my stylist pictures of the beach blonde hair that I wanted. I paid about 200 $ for my entire service, for horrible highlights. On top of the highlights turning out really really bad, I could tell the stylist had absolutely no idea what she was doing. At one point I was considering getting up and walking out when I heard her say«well I hope this turns out ok.» My highlights were streaky, uneven and golden/orange. Please save your money and your tears. The end result is really not worth it. I paid 200 $ to correct the 200 $ I spent to get it done. Also the salon is too small for them to have a bridal party as well as everyday customers at the same time. The party looked cute, and the bride’s hair looked beautiful! But I will never be returning to this salon again and advise people not to come here for a cut or color.

I gave my experience with The Salon at Winter Park 1 star because the staff was very friendly and they fit me in for a last minute appointment. That being said, I am very disappointed with the services I received. My manicure was overpriced($ 32 before tip!!) and looks like it was done by my three year old. The price for the eyebrow wax and tint was reasonable, however I ended up with horrible blisters and bruising from the waxing job. The tinting she did looks great, it’s too bad I can’t see beyond my painful and terrible looking eye lids. I left this spa $ 80 poorer, blistered and bruised-not the way I want to spend the last few days of my ski vacation. Boo!

A beautiful setting right next to the Fraser river. Been going here since they first opened and have always left happy. Thank you Jen Bach! The new service of laser hair removal is pretty cool too.

Great pedicure with Colleen! Contemporary, friendly and clean salon. Lots of shellac colors to choose from. Nice touch with the beverage service service and didn’t talk around me to each other but actually very engaging. Excellent quality pedi– very clear she’s. Pro. Will definitely return.

I went for a manicure today in WP while taking a day for me. Right when I went to sit down I immediately noticed how dirty the chair and station was where I was to have my manicure. During the process of a manicure all places ask you to wash your hands prior to polish to remove excess dust but here I was never asked and the call just painted over all the nail dust on my hand. The paint job was very sloppy and had to ask repeatedly for the polish to removed on the sides of my fingers and honestly felt as though I was insulting her to do this. The price was high even for a mountain town and especially this dirty salon. This salon should give itself a deep cleaning and not advertise they can do nails. I would never go back and will for sure share with our neighbors here in WP.

This is a decent small town salon but I wouldn’t recommend for wedding services. Everyone was super friendly, but I expected more for a salon that advertised wedding services. Though the don’t charge salon prices, the hair and makeup I had done for my trial was very basic(even though I asked for dramatic) and definitely wouldn’t have help up for the whole wedding day. I was also a little put off by the fact that they had each stylist running their own credit card charges rather than having customers pay the salon. I ended up contracting with a different person for hair/makeup. We did end up getting mani/pedis the day before the wedding and though we were there on time, the appointments all ran over and a few people ended up being late for the rehearsal dinner even though they knew our timeline in advance. They seemed to be easily distracted. It ended up adding unnecessary stress and I wouldn’t recommend them for wedding services. If you just want to go in for regular one-time salon service and weren’t in a hurry, you might actually be fine.

Almost closed, the stylist stayed open a little extra for me, offered myself and a buddy complimentary beverage while I got a great mani-pedi. We had a great conversation, loved the relaxed atmosphere. If your a beautiful lady, or handsome man(like myself, shameless plug… sorry) or anything in between you need to come to The Salon in Winter Park for; Hair, Nails, or Message… The picture of beautiful job I will post… I had accent nail on big toes, and beautiful orange on the rest.(The nail coloring was do to my buddy suggestions since he waited so patiently) and besides my little daughter loved it!

I came into The Salon at Winter Park as a treat from my best friend before her wedding. We attempted to book our pedicures at Bella Vita down the street but they were completely booked. When we walked in, the salon was very nice, but the employees seemed disorganized. I got the impression that the employees were not ready for us, even though we had appointments and the salon was not busy by any stretch of the imagination. We got sat down after about a 10 minute wait and our individual nail techs eventually made it to us. The pedicure itself was lovely, though the scrub they put on your legs is maybe a bit painful. My main beef was the nail polish job the tech did on my nails. The polish was bubbly and uneven, something that is NEVER okay when you’re paying a professional to polish your tootsies… especially for a wedding! I won’t be back in the area anytime soon, especially for a pedicure, but even given the chance I probably wouldn’t come back here. I’d rather book far enough in advance to get into Bella Vita, which is apparently the place to be.

I went to The Salon in July. My nail technician was incredibility inappropriate and unprofessional. I was in the salon for almost an hour– she continued to leave the station, and while she was seated, made inappropriate comments and asked inappropriate questions. She then charged 28 for a gel polish removal/polish change(NOT a manicure). I’ll definitely be visiting Winter Park again, but I will not be visiting this salon.

I would have given four stars, but I thought my service was a bit overpriced. That said, here are all the things I liked about The Salon at Winter Park… — Great location, I loved being able to look out at the river, mountains, and kids at the skate park while I had a manicure/pedicure. The ambiance was nice and bright, clean, and welcoming. — Friendly professional staff. The nail technicians did a great job, I was happy with the shape & color application and was so happy to not cringe through any of it. — Average color selection of OPI and china glaze polish. Oh, and they had a few of the natural polishes they sell at Pharmaca(SpaRituals)! — It was nice to be offered a wide selection of beverages when I arrived and again when I moved from manicure to pedicure. Just a few things that would have made my experience better: — I do enjoy when the pedicure chair has massage, which this did not. Although it was a nice and comfortable chair. — The pedicure was $ 45 and the manicure $ 28. I think $ 35/$ 20 would be more reasonable, but I know lots of people wouldn’t have a problem with this.
