Sorry folks, underwhelming burnt food. We always try to support the small local places so I got the yum-O burrito seated upon a shallow smear of pork green chili. First off, the tortilla was hard, burnt and old tasting. Not as much cheese as advertised on the menu and the green chili was old, flavorless mush. It was like it had been sitting around for days with hardly any meat and not an ounce of spiciness was added. The«home fries» are large, thin slices of whole, raw potato thrown on a very hot flat top and burnt but not fully cooked. Theoretically a nice idea, but not well played out. They put a scoop of pico de gallo on the side which wasn’t bad if only way garlicky. I ordered a side of the seasoned black beans which were really decent but could have been better with a dash of cumin. Hubs had the corned beef hash which was like their home fries with scarce chopped up chunks of overcooked corned beef. By overcooked I mean hard, crisp nuggets. It’s like the cooks don’t care about their craft! The eggs for both dishes were very well prepared however. Bonus! The coffee was good as was the organic black tea and the toast with jam was great. Employees in the back were busy chatting and gossiping with each other with a half-empty restaurant. Poor customer service. We won’t be back nor do we recommend.

Must try the corned beef hash!!! Chunks instead of strands of beef strewn in potatoes… Delicious! Really good portion of breakfast to get you energized for riding the slopes!

Super friendly staff, amazing food and great community atmosphere. I tasted the ‘Ain’t’ and the cinnamon roll french toast. Both were very good, but if you’re in a savory mood the«Ain’t» is the way to go. Their whole menu looks incredible and cant wait to try some of the Mexican-ish options.

This place was so great! I’m in wow of the food and service. It is really small but we were lucky enough to get in. If you have a big party you might be waiting for a bit. Everything is quickly and freshly made to order. Our waitress was really helpful and quick. I encourage everyone eating here to order from the specialty menu, you won’t be disappointed.

Luv. It comes in the form of a wrap. A wrap full of bananas, yogurt, granola and peanut butter. It comes in the form of sunbeams, shooting brightly over lush mountain peaks, glistening over the terrain. It comes in the form of a smile and a good conversation, with people who make you feel like home. Luv would be sitting on the patio, day after day, and drenching yourself in all of the above.

This place was the definition of basic brunch meeting cute mountain café. We ordered the Bloody Mary Jane and I easily could have had 12(if I knew my boyfriend wouldn’t have been mad at me for being shwasty for the rest of the day). It was full of spice and still felt the kick of liquor for the rest of the day. Our food was tasty and I felt like I got everything I paid for. I got the classic breakfast sandwich and scarfed it down in minutes. My 6’10″ boyfriend(really– we should start referring to him as my BFG in my posts(big friendly giant)) got the breakfast burrito and even he was full after(don’t tell him I said«even he” — sometimes he gets a little sensitive). Now for the staff– they were cute as buttons! Talk about small town cuteness. They acted like best friends and talked to us with respect and appropriate distance. After we finished, they even helped point me in the direction of where to get my Sorel Boots… See, basic but cute café!

This is a cute little breakfast/brunch place in Winter Park with surprisingly good prices. The best thing here is their hippie chicken: deep-fried chicken breaded with their homemade granola. Their bacon is really good as is their corned beef hash. The reason they get three stars, instead of four, is that they serve breakfast and lunch, but not at the same time, and you never know when they will switch to lunch. Per the server: «sometimes 11, sometimes 12, sometimes later.» We passed up the other breakfast place for here because I really wanted their chicken biscuit, but was told that lunch wouldn’t be served at 11(as it had been every previous visit), but noon. I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast, so I asked if I could get a grilled cheese, but still no-go. So, good place to eat, but don’t bet on getting the menu you want 11 – 1.

My friend says this is the best breakfast in Winter Park. So we thought we gotta try it. I was impressed. I ordered the Ain’t Skairt o’ No Carbs — it’s a pancake with gravy and eggs on tops. The pancake is fluffy and delicious. I ordered this because I’ve never had this creative combination before –it is hearty and perfect on a –10 degree cold morning and gives the carbs to last you a full day of skiing! It was delicious but next time I am going to try those Como Frijoles! The green chili always calls my name and my husband had the breakfast burrito and as I was stealing bites from his plate I loved the flavor. Eggs with green chili is one of my favorite dishes so I can’t wait to come back to the Mountain Rose Café. It’s a small restaurant so you may have to wait. In the summer they have a large patio with more tables.
