I never usually write reviews, but I had to write this one. If you know your sushi and want a delicious meal, don’t go here!!! When we were on vacation with my wife in January 2016, this place was close to our hotel and we decided to stop by. We were very disappointed! We were seated right away, it was sunday evening, and the restaurant was half empty, but the wait for the sushi was almost 45 min, which is ridiculous! We have been to many sushi places in different countries, but this was the worst sushi-if you can call it that, we have ever eaten! The only reason this place got one star is because the waitress was very good and attentive, but the food is another story. I do want to say that we did like the sake, but that’s all. We ordered 2 miso soups, one regular and the other spiked, and 3 rolls that were recommended to us: volcano, almost better than sex and Mary Jane. we could not finish 3 rolls for 2 people.(usually we order 4 – 5 rolls). They were that horrible! Both Miso soups were disgusting! The people that make the rolls were of American decent. I’m not racist, but I’ve never seen American’s making sushi. There was not a single Japanese person that made the rolls. I would not mention this, but the result shows in the food. The price we paid was also very expensive for sushi that was not even mediocre. We were very disappointed.

Great atmosphere, great service and best of all… really amazing sushi! Try the Big Kahuna(shrimp and pineapple roll) or the Mary Jane roll-yum! Highly recommended :)

I was super excited for sushi last night. We waited 45 min to be seated. Kinda a good sign since the place was packed. The gin and tonic I ordered was flat. The meso soup was horrible. The sushi was average. I woke up at 4am and felt like I had a brick in my stomach. Bottom line… something didn’t set well with me and I’ve been visiting the porcelain throne all day:(I’m still giving them 2 stars because it means get not have been the sushi and the place had a good vibe. It’s the kind of place you would hope to have great sushi.

The sushi rolls are excellent with many fun choices. We loved the super rainbow, cannonball and volcano rolls. The yellowfin tuna and salmon sashimi were amazing. The service was attentive, fast and very helpful. We can’t wait to go back!

We just had an excellent dinner and date night. The food was so good and the service was great too. We continue to go back because it is consistently good. Thank you for giving us good Sushi in Winter Park!

It’s our go-to happy hour and sushi joint. I love the house salad and their salmon skin rolls. My son likes edamame, miso soup, the Cali roll and always likes Moschi. He’s starting to eat my spicy roll orders too. :P Servers are so personable, the chef and kitchen staff make it a nice chatty place too. Thanks guys. You are great.

Service was phenomenal with a fun atmosphere. The sushi takes amazing and very filling. Only suggestion/complaint is not having a huge selection of sushi. Overall great experience though!

Rice was poorly prepared. Fish ok. Miso soup was not very good. Way overpriced for meal quality.

Service was absolutely terrible. No kids choices either. I ordered sashimi at it took over an hour to come out. Kids meal took forever. Food was OK. Decent sushi for the mountains but just took too long for everything.

Bleck. The rice on all our sushi rolls was very undercooked which just made everything rather inedible. Maybe this was a fluke but I wouldn’t give this place a second chance. A sushi restaurant that doesn’t know how to cook rice is a bad sign in my book. Apart from the food being gross the atmosphere is pretty in your face with red walls and red light bulbs. If you’re in a clubbing mood it might be good but for me it was a little overkill and made me a little anxious.

The fish was fresh, the portions were large, and the price was right. Very beautifully decorated as well. I had salmon sashimi my wife had the sixty nine roll. The soup was flavorful and the seaweed salad was large.

Good: Our server was excellent. The Salmon sashimi was quite good. Bad: I really almost never dislike a restaurant. The staff were kind of strange(not mean or really rude, just very odd). The place is so dark, there was not a single Japanese employee, and all of this on top of being a place in the middle of the Rockies where you are going to consume raw fish. As for the food, I had the Seaweed Salad and Salmon Sashimi. The Salmon was quite good. The Salad made me violently ill(details not included). My friends ALL disliked their miso soup. I also did not care for my Saketini, but that could be a personal preference. I can’t recommend going here, but others seem to love it, so maybe we just were not feeling it that night.

Me and my girlfriend were waiting at the door when they opened Saturday night. There was also 3 other couples or families waiting with us. We placed our order by 5:10 and did not receive our food until 6:00. Although the food was amazing the wait time was unacceptable. Food — 5 stars | Delicious food!!! Service — 1.5 stars | For refilling our water once

We visited here early December, before the season really started. There were maybe 3 tables occupied. We ordered ONE roll. After 35 minutes of waiting, I asked if we could just pay for the drinks and go. The server said he was working on it right now, did we want it to go? We waited another 15 minutes and got it boxed. Waited over 45 minutes for one roll and on our way out the door the server says, «sorry we couldn’t make that for you faster.» Really?

Ordered take out from here on my first visit and was very impressed. Sashimi combo was fresh and delicious, Volcano & Mary Jane rolls were great, 69 roll was perfect for kids(except the name I suppose), and Miso was great on a cold November evening. I know that sushi in the mountains sounds like a bad idea, but my expectations were definitely exceeded here.

Don’t bother. Not worth the time or money. Staff wasn’t particularly nice. Ambiance was fine and actually cool, but there are very few tables. The miso was literally Undrinkable. The excuse was to make it vegetarian, but I’ve made paper bag mixes that were better. Didn’t get to the sushi as we decided another restaurant would be a smarter choice. I don’t think they have to try at all, as they are the only sushi game in town. Id say, hold your craving and go Mexican or Pizza until you move to the next location. Too bad.

A great happy hour makes this place a good spot for some high country sushi. I hear they pull all of the fish straight out of an ocean or stream or something, then cart it hundreds of miles before serving. Still, it’s not bad for a mountain town sushi joint. Only note is that I ordered spicy salmon rolls and it was served with cooked salmon. Huh.

Happy hour was recommended by a local, the specials are nothing special to say the least, food or drink. Also, my rolls arrived with a long dark hair suspended between the two, gross. Do not recommend this place. Stick to sushi near a place that fish actually live.

My family and I eat here every time we come up to our mountain home. They have been at 3 different locations in the last 3 years. We always get sushi for four. We enjoy the low lighting and ambiance. Our servers have always been pleasant. It’s a bit pricey but it’s sushi in the mountains. We love the rolls and their flair on a modern Japanese fusion. Sometimes it’s really busy but off season we usually don’t have a hard time getting in. We’ve met one of the owners who is always pleasant. The sakatinis are great @ the happy hour Buddha beer is my hubby’s favorite.
