Ask for Reggie! He is the best waiter. I have had several amazing experiences at this Ruth’s Chris location. My first experience was for a corporate dinner where I enjoyed their vegetarian special — vegetable lasagna. It was DIVINE. The cheesecake for the dessert is big enough for about 8 people — and it’s delicious! My second experience was dinner with my mom. We had the small seafood tower which included lobster, crab, shrimp, and oysters. It was fresh, delicious, and a huge portion. For my entrée I had the vegetable special — I got to pick 3 sides. I had the macaroni and cheese, creamed spinach, and asparagus. The portions again were generous and the food delicious. The best part of the meal was the banana pudding… It was like a banana crème brûlée with delicious banana flambé on top. It was one of the best desserts I have EVER tasted. I will definitely return. Remember to call ahead and ask for Reggie! A+ service!

Super expensive but worth the money! We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had a party of 12. On the online reservation we mentioned it was a birthday party and they placed happy birthday confetti on the table which was so sweet and thoughtful. The steaks were delicious and the appetizers were great. You do have to pay separate for sides but they are big enough to share at least 2 – 3 people. The lobster Mac and cheese was huge and good for a whole table to sample. I ordered the Ruth’s classics which comes with either a soup or salad, the entrée, a side, and a dessert. The selection is pretty descent. I ordered the yellow roasted tomato bisque, which was very very tasty; the 12oz ribeye, which was cooked to perfection(I like medium rare and it came out just right); the mashed potatoes, and a dessert, not sure which one but it was but it was very rich in flavor yet delicious. My husband ordered the New York strip and that was such a tender piece of meat and the roasted corn. We also ordered 2 appetizers the calamari which was very tasty and the spicy crispy lobster. The cucumber and red peppers that accompanied the lobster was very refreshing. It wasn’t too spicy but then again I love spice! The 500 degree plates were a little much. You tend to forget within seconds that they just told you the plates are super hot and are 500 degrees when you go to move your plate to adjust to your liking; however, that doesn’t take away from anything. You just have to be careful or you’ll get a little shock of heat on your fingers! Towards the end of the dinner they came out with a special happy birthday dessert for my husband. I thought that was really nice of them to put this all together. I didn’t mention once to anyone there it was a birthday, only in the online reservation in the notes section. I truly appreciate that they took initiative to put this all together for us! Overall, the food was fabulous and the service was so pleasant. Our servers were very attentive and their attitudes made every dime spent worth it! My husband and our party enjoyed this birthday dinner and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again!

Meh… Our steak(we split a rib eye) tasted like it was dredged through a salt flat. I don’t care for the 500 degree plates – far too hot. My side was cold, but at least edible without burning my mouth. The atmosphere is noisy, food isn’t that great for the price($ 100 for a shared steak, 2 sides, and 2 glasses of wine, not including tip), you’re required to wait forever to eat so you don’t burn off all the skin on your tongue. Not the best option for my money, especially when better is right up the road at a long standing Orlando favorite.

Ruth’s Chris has an awesome happy hour! My boyfriend and I got there around 4:45 and by 5:15, their inside bar area was already packed. I chose Shock Top beer to drink along with the steak sandwich and fries. What a great choice! The steak sandwich for $ 8 was yummy and a great deal, but the bread was a little much. I opted to take the top off and eat it open faced. The fries accompanying the sandwich were very good too. Crispy and well seasoned. All in all, I will definitely be returning here for happy hour and hopefully for dinner some time as well.

OK so I really had to think about the review for Ruth’s Chris. I must say the food tasted really good. I started out with a crab cake appetizer, which was very tasty. My main course was the cowboy ribeye which was cooked absolutely perfect. My wife and I shared some brussels sprouts as a side dish. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, but I cannot get over the prices of the items on the menu. My steak was $ 55. I know, I know it’s Ruth’s Chris, it was a great environment. But, and there’s always a but. I have had a steak at Cooper’s Hawk Winery, for half the price, with sides, that in my opinion was just as good. There you have it, that is my true and honest opinion.

My spouse and I celebrated our 15th Anniversary here this past weekend and just when we thought they couldn’t top the 14th Anniversary, wow they sure did. Our server John recognized us from our celebration last year and made every moment of his time special for us both. The Calamari is the best with the Asian flavoring. We enjoy their long Island Iced Tea and the hot sliced bread is always, delicious. We had the crab cakes and 8oz filet. Both were terrific and cooked perfectly. We shared the sweet potato casserole and although it is was very sweet, it was delicious, too. The service is exceptional and everyone makes you feel like you’re the only table in the restaurant. Our camera didn’t work properly and John took a picture and gave us a copy with the complimentary chocolate desserts. This is definitely the place to celebrate something special.

Lackluster Filets During the past two weeks I have been to Ruth’s Chris Steak House twice. Both times the food was not up to par. The first time, I went with a dinner program and after waiting 2 hours and long after the speaker was finished, a rotten Filet came out! Yes, rotten! I ate quite a bit of it as I had waited so long to eat before giving a bite to my wife who said it was the worst steak she has ever had. Not bad as in Outback or Sizzler, but dog food quality. The server was condescending and said that in his 18 years working for the steakhouse he has not had a rotten piece of meat, but did bring a free Swordfish for me to take home(which was great — and the reason there are 2 stars instead of 1). Last night I went with a group of friends and tried the Filet again. This time the Filet was not rotten, but tasted of low quality and not up to the standard I have come to expect of Ruth’s Chris. I truly hope they have not changed suppliers for their 11oz Filet. I did notice that the have a more expensive line of meat including a new bone-in 16oz Filet and 40oz bone-in Ribeye, but I will stick to Fleming’s, Del Frisco’s and Christner’s for the time being.

The first time I had gone to Ruth’s Chris was for Unilocal Elite event and I loved it. When I saw that Ruth’s Chris was on the list of restaurants participating in Magical Dining month, I had to go back. This restaurant is walking distance from everything in Winter Park Village. They also offer complimentary valet parking or you can choose to park your car yourself. My friend and I had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The restaurant itself is very nice, great ambiance and the staff is very friendly. Our server brought us the magical dining menu which is what we wanted. The menu options were good. We had the choice of Steak House salad or White Bean & Chorizo soup for appertizers. Per our server the soup was a customer’s favorite so I went his suggestion and got the White Bean and Chorizo soup. The soup itself was good; it had cannellini beans, chorizo sausage and spinach, but to be honest I was expecting a little more. In my opinion it lacked some flavor, it wasn’t bland but it tasted like something I could probably make myself. You can’t come to a steak house and not order steak so for my entrée I got the 6 oz filet mignon and it was delicious. It came with your choice of garlic mashed potatoes or creamed spinach. We ordered one of each and they were both amazing. My advice, if in doubt, order the garlic mashed potato, it was very good. When it was time for dessert I can honestly say that I was full. We were not given a choice but if you love chocolate you will love this dessert. It was a Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake with a cranberry-pecan chocolate bark. In conclusion, the ambiance was great, the servers went above and beyond, and the food was amazing. I will have to come back even if it’s not magical dining.

Not impressed. I’ve been here a handful of times and aside from location and ambiance there isn’t much else that was appealing to me. I dined here last night with a few guests. Im not one to send food back but the stuffed chicken was as salty as brine and the steak was over what we ordered. We also ordered mashed potatoes which was good but the Mac and cheese tasted processed. Ordered a few desserts which we didn’t care for. felt like we had to always flag down our waiter. Capital Grille, Del Friscos, Eddie Vs etc. are doing it right in terms of quality of food and service. Ruth’s should follow suit

I went to Ruth’s Chris for my first time this weekend and used the Magical Dining menu. I know everyone says it, but this food is amazing. Simply amazing. I chose the salad, filet, mashed potatoes, and added sauteed mushrooms. Everything turned out perfect and after eating fine cuts of steak in other restaurants(Charley’s, Capital Grille, etc), I can honestly say that this was the best steak I have ever had. The ambiance of this restaurant is very nice. The night we went, it was particularly busy(probably due to magical dining), but I felt that our service was slightly below my expectations. This is mainly due to the fact that we didnt see our waiter very much once we got our main course and waited quite a while for our dessert and check. Otherwise, the gentleman that waited on us was very friendly and helpful.

This was my very first experience at a Ruth’s Chris Steak House and I expected to be blown away. Unfortunately — I definitely was not. I’m torn between 2 and 3 stars, so let’s call this a 2.5 rating. A group of 14 of us were celebrating a friend’s birthday. We had reservations for 8pm but our table was not ready for us until 8:30pm. We were a large group so 3 servers were assigned to us. With that being said — I expected service to be fairly quick. The dinner from start to finish lasted about TWOHOURS. Not on account of us chatting or being indecisive, but for down time between courses and getting our checks to pay. The food itself was insanely expensive for what it was. I ordered a special 3 course meal for $ 45. I got an appetizer(chicken/andouille sausage gumbo), an entrée(cheese stuffed chicken) with a side(mashed potatoes), and a dessert(strawberry shortcake with some truffles beside it). I know — shame on me for getting chicken at a steak house. Let me explain. They had an option with a petite filet but it had shrimp on it that they wouldn’t allow me to substitute out. So, chicken it was! The gumbo was pretty good, and a way better choice than the salad. The chicken and potatoes were okay… I’m a big fan of well seasoned food but the chicken was TOO salty and the potatoes weren’t salty enough. I ate about half to save the rest for lunch the next day. The dessert was where I was most disappointed. The shortcake was so dry and the strawberries and whipped cream couldn’t save it. The truffles were decent but nothing to write home about. Even if another special occasion presents itself, I don’t see myself returning to Ruth’s Chris, as I’ve been to way better steak houses that were not nearly as expensive and had much better service!

Really great restaurant with GREAT fillet, and great shortcake! It was amazing! The only thing I didn’t like was how hard it was to pronounce the name of the restaurant! Lol!

First time at Ruth’s And what a great experience. We utilized the magical dining menu which displayed a good lineup of choices. We had the steakhouse salad And the barbeque shrimp which tasted very good. but don’t confuse this course with the actual Barbeque Shrimp meal that gets sampled heavy in New Orleans, Louisiana. Overall great service and will be back.

Had a disappointing lunch at Ruth Chris for Easter. Not up to par this time. Waiter kept making mistakes. Meat was overly done. Recommended medium well. I usually order medium. Steak was dry and well done. Did not want to send it back for third time. Don’t know if I’ll be back after coming here every year. I am going to Ruth Chris on Sandlake Rd. for my birthday. They better treat me well. I will be sure to mention to them that I was disappointed in the Winter Park one. Won’t be going there any time soon.

Being an Orlando native, Ruth’s Chris is the best dining experience I’ve ever had in Central Florida. There is no comparison. I’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times, and each time is so memorable; never a bad experience. Tonight we had Nastasia leading our serving team. Even as a repeat customer, she still surpassed my expectations and raised the bar far above the experience I’ve had there before. She was very well spoken, attentive, courteous, highly professional… and was genuinely interested in us having the best dining experience we could have. I would love to request her in the future if I could. The steaks here need really need no introduction. :-)(Even the value is better than that of local chains: an 11oz filet for less than $ 50?! Yes, please!). I’d highly recommend the bleu cheese on the filet. The spinach au gratin was fantastic, but then again anything au gratin is heaven. ;-) Whether you’re celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, or just want an excellent steak, this is the place to go. Make sure you have no plans afterwards so you can take your time to truly indulge every sip of Cabernet and every bite of Filet. :-)

1st experience at Ruth’s Chris and came for Magical Dining, I want to go back already! Regardless of magical dining or not, I will come back!(if the budget permits. hah) For the first course I ordered the Steak House Salad, which was really light and refreshing. Kinda had to go off with that first since I knew that my main entrée would fill me up quick, which of course I ordered the 6 oz Filet Mignon. The steak was perfectly cooked(medium to my liking) and was very impressed on how amazing it tasted. It seriously melted in my mouth. I ordered it with the side of creamed spinach and I could honestly eat that everyday. It wasn’t too filling and heavy, it was perfect! It also tasted good with french fries since I kept dipping it with the spinach. Don’t judge me, try it: P As for dessert, that cheesecake was the perfect palette cleanser. Very light and the berries added that nice touch of sweet and tartness to it. The overall meal was simply divine! Service was great, restaurant is great, food is great. Yup, Ruth’s Chris is GREAT! ;)

Had our 1st Ruth Chris experience for Orlando’s Magical Dining and Loved the experience & we’ll be back, but if you are going for the Sept $ 33 set menu promotion here’s my take. The Steak House Salad tasty! I went with the 4oz Filet w/fancy shrimp. It was a delicious piece of meat, however, a 4oz med/rare filet is the size of a golf ball. My wife enjoyed a 6oz and she was wowed & fulfilled. The garlic mashed potatoes were nicely whipped and creamy. For dessert the cheese cake with berries was the perfect end to a great dinner! We’ll return to eat off the regular menu and try that Happy Hour menu at the bar.
