Oh my god I would never have thought to stuff an empanada with macaroni and cheese but they did and it was the best comfort food ever. At 3 for $ 9 their empanadas are a pretty good deal! The menu seems to rotate, with different baked and fried selections but it seems like there are always a couple of solid vegetarian choices(like the mac and cheese, or sweet potato and goat cheese) as well as savory meaty choices(I had a Cuban style one I really liked) and dessert empanadas(mmm, dark chocolate and sea salt). The schedule rotates just like the menu but you can usually find them outside Guesthouse on Thursdays, Will’s on Fridays and sporadically at other events around Mills50, Winter Park and Audubon Park.

The truck it was not there! I don’t think that the place is open anymore. I drove 30 minutes for nothing!

I was just driving through winter park in search of something tasty and quick when I stumbled upon this food truck. I ordered three empanadas, one beef, one chicken and one sweet potato. They were awesome!!!

Awesome empanadas. The crust is perfection. So far I have tried the picadillo and the dark chocolate with sea salt. Very yummy. I can’t wait to try some more.

Thursday lunches in WP or chase the truck wherever it goes — it’s worth it. Solid solid food. Very clean truck, which is a very cool thing for food from a truck.

Good empanadas and their dough is perfectly crisp & tasty. Our favorite is their chocolate with sea salt, great way to end a meal!

Tasty empanandas! Try the beef and salted chocolate dessert empanada! Great seasoning and not overly greasy like many empanadas are. The staff is quite friendly, and the empanadas are made fresh to order!

Seeing as I just discovered what Empanadas were a few months ago, when I was at Tasty Tuesday I just HAD to try one of these. I tried the spinach and feta empanada, and I wish I could have just had them all. I’m definitely going to go back again soon!

La Empanada is one of my favorite food trucks! ALL of the empanadas are delicious and they change their offerings practically every day… but my favorites are the French Onion, Sweet Potato & Goat Cheese, and Dark Chocolate Sea Salt. When they offer their Kale Apple Salad, it’s always very fresh… crunchy and tasty!

I had a couple empanadas when the food truck was in front of Imperial Beer and Wine. Three in total. The most memorable one had sweet potato and goat cheese in it… delicious! The other ones that I had were good as well, but I don’t remember them because the sweet potato and goat cheese made me just desire more of it! I was hungry and had three empanadas. I was still hungry. So you may want to order more if you’re starving. The lady who worked at the truck was pretty nice. Good stuff!

Pockets full of pleasure… that’s what I renamed the empanadas from La Empanada! They are made fresh so there was a bit of a wait but totally worth it. Also, they are hot when you get ‘em so be careful. Everything is under $ 4 from here, awesome, know what that means? You can try one of everything — their flavors are rotating so check their menu online or when you roll up… or they roll up, cause well, they are a food truck. My favs are the: BBQ Chicken & Gouda — Shredded BBQ chicken with smoky gouda cheese, red onion and cilantro. Tomato-Basil Caprese — Fresh mozzarella with tomato and basil pesto. Drizzled with balsamic reduction. I was a little hesitant to try the Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt cause it just isn’t an empanada you normally see but it was delicious and a smaller version which, like Lisa W said, is perfect for dessert.

La Empanada is a Winter Park Farmer’s Market regular although it isn’t at the Farmer’s Market. It is near the corner of W New England Ave and S Virginia Ave, and the lady in the truck window said they are there till 2PM. I had the BBQ Chicken and Gouda empanada, and it was very good. Fresh, tasty blend of ingredients in the inside of a light crunchy shell — yum. You can eat it with your hand and wipe off what little oil your hands pick up with one napkin swipe. The day I was there, they had a kale-apple salad for $ 2, so you could make a lunch out that and an empanada($ 3.50/piece) or two. I would suggest picking up a 3-pack of empanadas(for $ 9) whenever you see the truck!

I have come to realize empanadas are one of my favorite foods. And this truck offers some of my most beloved ones. Their chicken pesto empanada is amazing and the dark chocolate and sea salt one is an excellent end to any meal! They are perfectly crisp and provide amazing flavors!

Enjoyed La Empanada at Tasty Tuesday’s in the Milk District, snagged a few of the mini dessert empandas in Chocolate and sea salt. I shared my order and our group decided they were perfection. Great balance of chocolate and salt, nice amount of filling and a light and flaky pastry. Love the mini size, perfect for dessert and sharing. Friends picked up the Bacon Gouda and raved at the flavors. Nice that the truck always offers the meat free option, last night was Greek and I would have ordered it had I not picked up dinner at another truck. I’ll be back!

Heard nothing but good tidings about B.B.D. Still need to make it in… but in the meantime their La Empanada truck is the tits! They’re slinging big fatty’s just waiting to be devoured. I was at a dog rescue/adoption event and saw their truck posted up. I walked buy, bought one, and continued down the path. It was $ 3.50 for the delicious pasty, or you could get a trio for $ 9 even. The Pesto Chicken empanada was berzerk in my mouth. So good. Throw in a dollop of Siracha on the side for dipping and it’s off to the loony bin your taste buds go. I want more. I want lots more – should’ve wound my way back, but never did. What a pity. Can’t wait for an encore!

I picked up a black bean & plantain empanada and two small eggnog empanadas from the truck this past Saturday. This is among the best decisions I’ve made in recent memory. I don’t think I’d previously seen the former available at the truck, so it must be relatively new. I quickly devoured it. Delicious. The eggnog empanadas also were heavenly. They may be seasonal, so I’m not sure for how much longer they’ll be offered beyond the holidays. I may need some more, and fast. I would’ve ordered 4 of ‘em had I known how good they’d be. As always, the people who operate the truck are as nice as can be. Gabi or Gaby(short for Gabrielle) is the best. I wish I could eat a few empanadas from this truck every day. I love it. I’m going to have to go and see the truck again this coming Saturday — that’s when the breakfast empanadas are offered just down the street and when the truck is parked just down the street from the Winter Park Farmers Market. CANNOTWAIT.

$ 9 will get you three empanadas. One with cheese, one with BBQ chicken, and the other with beef, potato and carrot. Very yummy! Three of them had some kind of sauce on top — not spicy. It filled me up thoroughly and I left happy. :-) My food was ready in an instant, yet it still hot, fresh and crispy. I don’t share the complaint of some of the others that the food tastes as if it’s left out all day long.

This is an awesome food truck! I’ve tried the ham egg and cheese, the mexican bbq chicken, ropa veija, and the list can probably go on. If you like Black Bean Deli, you’d be sure to like this food truck too since its owned by them! So if you’re in the mood for a food truck, be sure to find this one!

We were greeted with a big smile by two pretty ladies; I am assuming were Gabrielle & Janelle. Initially we chose Mexican BBQ Chicken and Creamy Corn/Bacon Empanadas, unique combination to say the very least. The crust on both the Empanadas was super light and not greasy at all; a pleasant welcome from most empanadas. The Mexican BBQ Chicken Empanada had a nice size filling of flavorful chicken and radicchio, and it was topped with a tangy herb sauce. The Corn and Bacon Empanada was ultra creamy and light. They were able to maintain the crispness of the Empanada despite the corn filling. La Empanada stands true to their motto engraved in front of their truck«Goodness Inside and Out». I savored each of my Empanadas and before ending the night we brought home some of their mini pies too. I look forward to tasting some of their other hand made creations soon.
