Sometimes it’s really hard to spend money! My husband and i needed a couple of movers or day laborers to help unload a van-​full of furniture in Fraser. I found D&D Services via Craigslist. Their website advertises various types of handyman and construction jobs, as well as moving, day laborers and misc. small jobs … all throughout Grand County (including Fraser and WP). So i called to see if we could hire them. The man who answered the phone was very unprofessional. He told me that he was in Grand Lake, and he asked me what i’d be willing to pay to make it worth his while to come «all the way down to Fraser». I said i was surprised, given that his website advertised services in Fraser. I asked him how much he would charge for the job. He hemmed and hawed, refused to give me a price, and then hung up on me while muttering about small jobs. Given the high unemployment in Fraser, it’s nice to know that at least one business out there is so busy that they can rudely throw away new customers. Don’t do them the honor of calling them or giving them your money.
