Today was my first visit to Cobblestone Farmers Market and I was definitely impressed. Parking was easy but we arrived right before 9. I would imagine as the day went on it would be a little more difficult to find parking close to the market. There is a lot across the street where you could park as well. There were quite a few people there early but it wasn’t so crowded that you couldn’t easily browse the booths. They had live music going on and seating in the shade located near the Camino’s booth. Speaking of Camino’s they had an excellent selection of baked goods, as well as coffee. The selection of vegetables was awesome, although I didn’t recall seeing any fruit. I was hoping to pick up some fruit but the variety of vegetables I was able to find certainly made up for it. Several booths were selling handcrafted cheeses and even offering samples. Towards the back there was a cold pressed juices vendor. And another selling half and whole chickens. Overall, I was impressed by my experience at Cobblestone. The prices were good and the selection of items available was great.

We are frequent farmers market visitors and it was our first time at the cobblestone one… Wasn’t very crowded which I loved — my only suggestion would be to have some food trucks around as well! We ended up getting bread and a phenomenal pastries from atelier bakery and we were more than pleasantly surprised! Overall it was a great place and we will be coming back over and over!

My favorite farmers market in the area! Go early at the start of the season for the best variety. Always a good selection of LOCAL fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs and baked goods. The farmers are friendly and welcome questions about the food and their farms.

I had like ridiculously high hopes for this farmers mark, since I feel like everyone talks about it! It was a great market, but I guess I was expecting a few more vendors. I will say they had a decent variety. However in late June I was expecting to see some tomatoes and peaches. Maybe it is too early? I’m not sure! I am a sucker for small batch almond milk so I was happy to see Village Juice here. They did not disappoint, yum! However they don’t sample their milks and I wish they did. I was able to pick up some fresh eggs, sample some tasty goat cheese, buy some chorizo, as well as bring home some black raspberries(which I had never had before). I bought a cucumber but unfortunately it was so bitter I couldn’t eat it. Atelier on Trade makes the most kick-ass croissants so if you are at the market be sure to grab one of those and grab an iced tea from Chad at the stall next door. Quite a few of the vendors, I would say about 90% accepted credit cards which is a plus if you forgot to grab cash before you went. It was super easy to find parking in Old Salem which isn’t always the case with some other local markets. So that is a big plus in my book. I am curious to try out their Wednesday market at Mary’s to see how it compares.

Although this farmers market was only founded in 2009 it is the best in the area. They truly make sure all of the vendors and products are local. They offer so much more than fresh produce. Krankies coffee is there with several options. I love to get the pour-over coffee for 2.50. It is a great deal and fun to watch. There are several local bakeries to buy breads and pastries. Every time I have been there was live music. The farmers are really friendly and love to answer questions about their products. You can buy several types of fresh meat and eggs. I love the fact it is in Old Salem. The prices are fair considering the freshness and quality of the products. I wish they were open all year long.
