Rose’s is closing December 19th and that’s a shame. This is tough news for the people of Winston-Salem who have been visiting this place for over 25 years. Maybe I’m feeling a little sentimental, but the last few times that I have been to Rose’s I swear that the food just tastes better. Also, the service has been consistently friendly and fast. I would strongly recommend their philly cheese steaks and their pesto chicken sandwich along with a side of their crispy fries and a sweet tea of course. They have the heaters turned on in their back patio area so the winter cold is no excuse. I’m hoping that Rose’s will open back up in a different location, but, just in case they don’t, I would strongly encourage you to go and check out this tried and true Winston-Salem eatery while you still can.

A small deli at the corner of University Parkway and Bethabara Park Blvd. I have had a few Great deli sandwiches and wraps here in the past. Picking up dinner tonight I learned from the owner David Rose that they are closing for good in December. I hate to hear this about any good business locally. Come by and try some unique sandwiches before they are gone for good!

Two of us went for late lunch. Only people in the restaurant. The cook managed somehow get both orders wrong, and was about as miserable as a guy can be. The food was fine in a sort of «please just give me something to eat now» kind of way. Maybe it was just a bad day. Have had great experiences here in the past.

This place is pretty cool. The pluses: Great customer service the outdoor porch seating area that is heated in colder months $ 4.95 sweet water and blue moon pitchers pretty yummy seasoned fries extensive menu comfy food The cons: The taste is not that superb, nothing special Not in the nicest area but hey it is Winston Salem I guess It’s not that cheap, $ 7.95 for fried mushrooms appetizers? Even though you are ordering fries and burgers and maybe a drink, you can’t walk out of here spending less than $ 10 per person $.35 for just a cup of iced water, yes, they do charge for water.

Went with a groupon. Mom had cheeseburger and fries, I had veggie burger and fries. Both were excellent. Fries were great. Took about fifteen mins to get our food. Total was over twenty bucks, a little pricey for lunch but very tasty. Will go back.

This is a small neighborhood deli that shares a very small strip center with 2 Bothers Citgo. The food is pretty much average — nothing blows you away, nothing sends you away. The prices are reasonable, the service is efficient, if a little remote, and the ambiance is rather spartan. The Cheeseburger Sub is pretty much 2 cheeseburgers on a split sub roll for $ 5.90 — decent value, ordinary taste. The regular Hot Dog was ok — cost $ 1.90, probably worth $ 1.90 — no destination dog here. The Italian Hoagie was really lite on the makings — when the dominate taste is bread, your sandwich may not be a Value Meal. The Fries were seasoned fries — all good fries need is salt, and here ketchup is a good thing — not so on a Hot Dog. This is the kind of place you might go to if you worked nearby, or lived nearby, but you don’t get a group together and name this as the place to meet.

It’s the best sandwich place in Winston. I keep going back to Chris’s Special, which includes grilled chicken and barbecue sauce. I almost always pair this with their fries and a sweet tea, which are both excellent. Everything I’ve tried on their pretty extensive menu has been at least decent. And, it doesn’t hurt that they have a nice patio.

Great sandwiches, great fries. Owners just like you to order quickly. If you’re not ready, stand by the door and look over a paper menu and they won’t bother you. I recommend the Chris’s Special(grilled chicken, provolone cheese, homemade bbq sauce, lettuce) or the Chicken Parm. The cheesesteak is just okay. Not open as much as you’d expect, so be sure to call first.

Pros: — Pretty good sandwiches and burgers. — Huge selection. — Great french fries. — Cheap Yuengling pitchers. — Outdoor seating. Cons: — Kick you out for drinking too much. — Owners can be a little rude. Confessions: — We had a lot to drink. — We might have been scaring away other customers. — Our table was a shameful graveyard of empty beer pitchers and cups. Hedging Confessions: — Although we were drunk, we were not rude. — We meant well. The Other, Other Side of the Story: — We weren’t rude, but we were a little loud. — Again, we may have been scaring away other customers. Moral Issue: — Once, they forced us to leave by cutting the heat off in the middle of the winter. — It got cold very quickly, and there was no beer left. Final conclusion: — Rose’s Deli is still ok in my book because in spite of all this happening several times, they still serve us pitchers. — Great t-shirts(e.g. one that reads«Fill your fat-assed belly at Rose’s Deli»).

DELICIOUS and priced very reasonably. The fries are amazing and the southern style sweet ice tea is equally good. There’s a great deck in the back should you wish to eat outside. The service is quick and friendly. Great for lunch with friends and I hear that they have good drink specials on weekends too!
