Piedmont Craftsmen

I always loving coming to this gallery on Hop nights. They have very beautiful art and crafts. My favorites are the puppets and jewelry. The prices vary but you can find some very affordable items.

We visited this gallery today and it sells the work of more than 350 southeast artisans. The quality of the items is very high, although the store is much smaller than what we’d expected for the number of participating artisans and nothing was really exceptional.

This is one of only two juried guild galleries in North Carolina, and the only one open to artists from any geographical location. Conveniently located in the heart of Winston-Salem’s Art District, this gallery offers a refreshing contrast to the run of the mill galleries where art on display is selected according to the whims of management.
In order to be juried into the Piedmont Craftsmen, an artist must submit images of their work for evaluation by a jury of their peers. If the artist passes the image jury, they are invited to set up a display of their work at the Piedmont Craftsmen’s Fair, held each year on the third weekend in November. The work is juried again and evaluated for quality of presentation as well as quality of work.
Only then may an artist exhibit their work in the Piedmont Craftsmen Gallery. Here a patron may acquire some of the most outstanding examples of fine art and fine craft.

This is NOT the ordinary Gallery! This organization offers exhibits and education. Clay, Fiber, Photography, Wood, Glass, Metal, and Mixed Media. Exhibits are rotated monthly! This is a Beautiful, Brightly lit place!
