Dick’s Sporting Goods

Nice store. They have pretty much every type of sporting goods equipment. Lacking some variety in certain sports. It is two levels, a superstore, and they have a points discount card available.

Time for new running shoes so I gave them a chance. Nice organized presentation (as expect from a big box store). Took a moment to be acknowledged but when the guy did come by he was very helpful and informative. He was great at multi tasking and willing to help with a smile. They even let us use a coupon twice on one transaction rather than making us split our order.

Took the kids I babysit here to pick out their Christmas gifts. They wanted ski masks so we set out for an adventure. Thankfully we escaped the holiday crowd and had an easy time getting in and out of the mall scene. Dicks is conveniently located across from Hanes mall and near a lighted exit that can take you right to I-​40 and Stratford rd.
If you haven’t been to dicks keep in mind it’s HUGE and very bright. At the same time it’s very organized with clear signage as to what’s where.
In dicks golf area they have a putting green. I imagine it’s for serious golfers to find their favorite putter. However, when we went by there was no one using it so the kids played a little game of putt putt. There was an employee nearby and he would put the balls back on the green if they rolled off, but other than that he let us do our thing. Eventually a serious buyer came over so we moved along.
We got our items and made our way to the register. I couldn’t believe we didn’t have to wait! And the very nice and smiling cashier gave us a coupon that saved us $ 4 :). Yay, I love saving money.
Parking lot was easy to get in and out. Whew.

After a horrible customer service experience at Gander Mtn. I drove over here to Dicks. Its close to Christmas and they were very busy but as I stood at the gun counter an associate asked me if I needed help. I was shocked. (See Gander Mtn review) I explained the make and model of what I was looking for and the sales associate immediately went in the back to retrieve the rifle I wanted. He brought it out and I purchased it. Although I find I am more apt to post a flaming review when I get crappy customer service. I decided to post a good one for this store. It may have just been this salesperson or the fact that I was wary from a previous experience but this particular store did it right in my opinion.

The customer service we received at this store is the worse we have ever experienced. Still waiting on delivery on a treadmill we purchased almost a month
ago. No excuse for this lack service after multiple phone call to various managers and yes even the store manager had no sense of urgency to deliver on their promises

I’m not a fan of these big box stores to begin with, but I badly needed to pick up some swimwear for my son today as I forgot to bring it for camp. First of all, it took twenty minutes before I was able to find someone to help me, despite the store being almost empty of customers. When I finally did find someone, they couldn’t help me because they were not carrying kids swimwear. At all. Not a single pair of swimming trunks for a six year old. During the Olympic swimming events when swimming popularity is at a 4 year high, not to mention IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER! Epic fail, Dick’s. I won’t be back.

I think Dick’s is over-​hyped and overpriced.

Not a big fan of Dick’s or Sports Unlimited or any other oversized sports outfitter. I’d rather spend my money at a local Golf USA or pro shop but I was pleasantly surprised last weekend. I found a pair of ORANGE Saucony running shoes ten years ago at my local sports store. Best pair of shoes ever. And I’m convinced it was because they were orange. Ive searched since (yes Zappos) and nada. Well Dicks has a pair, not the same style, but ORANGE. 129.99. NOPE. This week they were on sale for 69.99. On my feet now, at work, on the bike, in bed. And they feel awesome because they are orange. GO GIANTS!!!
