Eggs served raw, stale biscuits and cold gravy… The place is charming, but breakfast just wasn’t good. The wait staff was super friendly, but the food just wasn’t good. A shame.

Great breakfast and great service(table service) for a low price. I love their bacon. Tasty eggs and grits and biscuits. Close to UNCSA. Neat dining space. They take visa/mc, but not amex.

Good, cheap breakfast. Don’t expect to be blown away, but do expect tasty for cheap. Hot coffee, and friendly people. Solid spot.

Small town basic breakfast and lunch joint. Good sandwiches and fair breakfast. Nothing special but down home goodness and hospitality.

Such awesome, down home cooking! But more than that however, is the friendly owner Erin Lambert! Always greeted with a smile and some great food! Whether its burgers, meatloaf, ribs, or whatever else is on the menu, the Acadia grill always satisfies. Great Food, even better owner!

Definitely one of those little mom & pop neighborohood grills you gotta be looking for to find, tucked away off Silas Creek, at the corner of Broad & Acadia. The restaurant is small, 8 or 10 tables, a little on the worn side, but bright and clean. There is a small amount of parking on the left side of the building(Broad Street side). There are old pictures of different Winston locations on the walls — kind of cool. The folks are friendly(they welcome you when you come in, and thank you for your business when you leave), the service is quick. They serve breakfast(usual suspects on the menu) until 10:30AM, will offer several daily specials(today was Meatloaf & sides for $ 6.50 or so), and 8 or 10 plate selections from the menu — CS Steak, Pork Chops, Hamburger Steak, Flounder, & Shrimp. The menu also includes several sandwich selections, including homemade Chicken, Tuna, Egg Salad, as well as Pimento Cheese. But we came for the Hot Dog($ 2.10) and Cheeseburger($ 3.25), and that was our order — filled quickly, and we were on our way. The hot dog was very good, just short of being great — the weiner is good, the bun is nicely toasted, and the chili is solid if not spectacular — but there is an underlying bit of sweetness that throws the true Southern chili dog taste off. Strangely enough that bit of sweetness seems based in the mustard used, not the chili. The Cheeseburger was quite nice — well sized for the price, and with good flavor. Next time in, I’ll take a shot and some of their homemade salads — on a sandwich, of course.

We just had lunch there today, and it was excellent. It was late — nearly 3pm — on a Saturday afternoon, and the only person there when we got there was the owner/chef, who welcomed us in in a very friendly way. We had the special, which was barbecued chicken, which he said he’d decided to cook because it was what he wanted to eat. I always think that’s a good sign, because it shows that the person who is cooking for you is someone who likes and appreciates food. And it was very good barbecued chicken. This is straight-forward, well made Southern cooking. It’s not fancy, but it’s very well done. I had potato salad and corn with my chicken, and my husband had pinto beans and slaw with his. All the sides were excellent. The only thing that didn’t measure up were the grocery store rolls, and they weren’t bad, just not very interesting. The portions were large — more than I could eat — and it was good value for the cost. And we had a fun conversation with the owner. We’ll definitely go back.

Solid 3 ½ stars. I haven’t been here since it was the«old» Acadia Grill. Stopped by today, and ordered their lunch special of the day, Hamburger Steak. For the sides, I got mashed potatoes and pintos(roll included). A drink was included, and the total was $ 6.95(before tax). Hamburger steak was not a frozen patty, but sort of odd shaped, which told me it was«hand patted». It was juicy, with a light brown gravy. The pintos were homemade, and they tasted good. The mashed potatoes were instant(not my favorite!). The portions for each item was not that big, so I ordered a hot dog(ATW!), and it had a toasted bun, along with homemade chili and slaw. And I have to say, it was very good. Not Pulliam’s or P.B.‘s good, but very good. No doubt, I would order it again. Service was friendly, and the owner asked me a couple of times if everything was good. The owner said he also makes his own pimento cheese, chicken salad and potato salad. On Wednesdays, he has homemade meat loaf. So that will be my next day to visit.

We ate breakfast here and it was not very good. Burnt pancakes, scrambled eggs swimming in that buttery oil substance that comes in vats, and hash browns drenched in the same. I love supporting local businesses but unless they take a cue from the other home grown restaurants in the area and use healthier/fresher options(I will take real butter any day over that butter flavored oil), use a little salt and pepper to season food, and maybe someone who can actually cook, I do not see this place surviving its latest incarnation.

This place is the new haunt of my colleagues and I. Good simple home cooking. Tasty sweet tea, Homemade cole slaw, chili, all beef hot dogs, and good beef burgers. Really liked the fried chicken special. We went for breakfast this week– incredibly well priced and without a doubt the best pancakes in Winston Salem. Seriously, everyone at the table agreed. Everyone should check out this gem of a restaurant. Convenient parking too. They have great daily specials that include the drink too, and some of these have turned out to be our favorites(this week we loved the meatloaf and the pulled pork sandwich specials, a few weeks back I enjoyed their fried chicken dinner)
