Dropped by for a 1 night stay here on a road trip through town. Needless to say I got what I paid for when staying here. It was only a 2 bed 1 bathroom 1 shower room with 1 t.v.(CRT), which looked to be like an old 1983RCA t.v. I didn’t expect too much from this hotel. Thankfully I only was staying the 1 night anything more then that I would have thought to get another hotel as the only thing looked to be cleaned was the mirrors. The toilet was stained and the counters had light damage. Future road trips, I’ll make sure to avoid coming back here. This was definitely a 1 — star stay I gave it an extra star because their customer service was OK.

Stopped by while driving from SF to Texas to get couple of hours of rest. Called in around at 2:00AM and got a room, how ever it was smoking room. As I was too tired from 14 hrs of driving, took the room… once i switched on the AC the smell was intolerable… could barely get some sleep and light started to come into the room… the curtains were too small. The towels had dead mosquitoes… so never used them and the restroom was not the cleanest.(luckily I was alone and not with my family) Once +ve about this place the guy at the desk… was very helpful.

This EconoLodge was in Winslow, AZ – the absolute middle of nowhere. Next door is what used to be a restaurant, now it’s just an empty building with no sign. There are two mom-and-pop restaurants, and a Shell station nearby. That’s it. You can order food to have it delivered from a pizza place or Chinese place – but both are overpriced, especially if you’re traveling alone. The room itself is fine – it’s always nice not to have regular bedding, as opposed to the stain-concealing pattern. The room has a really old tv with grainy reception that gets basic cable. There’s a mini fridge and microwave, which as particularly appreciated because dinner that night consisted of a frozen burrito I bought from the aforementioned Shell station – and a table with one chair. The pamphlet that contained the tv channels, takeout menus, and other information was clearly from whoever owned the hotel before it became an Econolodge – the«Econolodge» was on a sticker and was placed where the old name used to be. In addition, there’s a note that informs you of prices should you choose to «purchase» any items in your hotel. Towels, ice bucket, pen… wait, pen?! You’re going to charge me $.50 for an Econolodge pen? Whatever. Allegedly, there is wifi, and you have to call down to the desk to get the password. Which would be fine… if the wifi worked. It didn’t. The fan in the bathroom made the most hideous sound. like there was a cat caught in the rotators. The bed itself is comfortable, but the bedding is not. Breakfast is pretty good – self-serve waffles are always good. I thought the sausage was good too. There is also bread for toast, cheap donut holes, two kinds of cereal, coffee, milk, and juice. All in all, not a bad spread for a complimentary breakfast. Service was perfectly fine, and the woman I saw both at check in and check out was very cordial. I wouldn’t set foot in Winslow again by choice, but if I had to go, then I guess the EconoLodge would be as good a place as any to stop for the night.

Now called Twin Oak Inn. No longer an Econolodge. Nice staff. Clean room. Good bed. Great price. Include one Grand Slam at Denny’s per guest. Recommended.
