Happy Belly Deli and Grill

The chicken poutine wrap is my favorite thing on the menu! Poutine done right, plus great service from smiling staff who know how to treat people like family. Looking forward to coming regularly during my time as a CCV Winooski student!

New Review: I’m a non-​bias regular shopper at Happy Belly. I’ve been going through the menu, one item at a time, and ordered an New England Salad today. The container not only had a perfect concoction of great ingredients but it was also so full that the top was barely staying closed, and I ordered a small! The salad was excellent! I strongly recommend giving it a try.
I also made an impulse purchase of mozzarella sticks. Now in my experience this item isn’t just a drop, cook, and run item, it takes a lot of consideration, and I’m not just referring to the preparation of the food. You have to be smart when choosing a brand, type, recipe, etc. There are a lot of BAD mozzarella sticks out there. I’ve always had a favorite, the beer batter mozz, I’m basically reduced to a child cheering for ice cream or candy when I find beer batter on the menu. Now Happy Belly’s aren’t beer batter but they are the best cooked perfect breaded sticks in the area.
OH! and I almost forgot. In response to my previous statement about this establishment’s speed; they’ve definitely sped up the process somewhat. I ordered the mozz sticks when I arrived and saw it on the menu (impulse purchase it may be) and it was ready in 4 minutes!
I’d recommend the sticks, poutine, and New England salad at this point; but as I said before, I’ll keep working my way through the menu and make more updates in the future.

I pop in here for a snack and coffee on days when I have class at CCV. I only gave two stars because 2 out 3 times I have been in recently, the women working was too busy on her Facebook to ring me up and one of the times I found eggshells in my breakfast wrap.

I avoided going into this place for the first few months I lived in Winooski. The outside makes it seem like just an overpriced convenience store. However, after going in for coffee one day, I found a really cute, local business. It’s reasonably priced and the sandwiches are great!

What a pleasant surprise to have in the neighborhood! I ordered lunch to go with a friend for the first time the other day. I got the Cuban Sandwich (and the Falls Wrap for dinner later – also good), my friend got the Southwest Turkey (and liked it), and shared a large order of poutine. The deli has seating and convenient store items as well. I’m a stickler for Cuban Sandwiches and this was a good take on it. The poutine was good, but needed some salt and pepper added. Overall a great place for lunch and I will definitely eat here again!

If I were reviewing the store itself, it would get a solid 4.5 stars. Great corner market with a nice selection of products, many of which are local. The counter service is usually friendly, but the deli is painfully slow. I understand waiting if I order something complicated, or if there is a long line, but Saturday I waited OVER 15 minutes for toast with peanut butter. When it finally arrived it was so lightly toasted I had to double check that it was at all. There was one order ahead of mine.

I’m a fan of the Winooski Falls Market & Deli. Everyday they would have something different on the menu board, so it’s kind of nice to have options. I usually get their sausage breakfast sandwich, or grilled chicken sandwich if i’m there around lunchtime. The sandwiches were delicious and the price wasn’t bad at all. In addition, they also have coffee, sodas, chips, and pretty much anything you can find at a convenient store in addition to good food. The staff members are very polite, and helpful. I would recommend checking out the Winooski Falls Market & Deli if you are in the area looking for something quick to eat!

This is one of my regular lunch stops… the menu is varied and the food very tasty. Great outdoor seating in the warm months. Despite having to dine in a convenience store (I don’t they sell anything on the shelves), the food makes it worth it.

Cute place near the waterfront in Winooski. Homemade sandwiches are very good. Was a pleasant surprise and we will be back.

Had a Living Social coupon to use and am so glad I bought it and tried their fine sandwiches. Really good stuff and would highly recommend!

I live upstairs and often come down for snacks/​sandwiches/​something to do when i’m bored. Their falls wrap is AMAZING and they don’t skimp on the bacon. Also my mom really appreciates that they offer gluten free bread. She gets so excited when she comes to visit.

Had a late lunch so decided to stop at this place. I went for the special «cuban sandwich.» Because who could turn down a Cuban. It was Tastey and jam packed with meat… just how I like it!

A little convenience market with a better than average selection, and a great deli menu.
They have poutine! I am always on the look out for authentic quebec style poutine, south-​of-​the-​border, if you will. As of today, this is the best I’ve had outside of Canada. The fries were right on, brown and crispy on the edges while tender on the inside. The gravy was a simple, flavorful, dark gravy (as it should be). A good ratio of fries: cheese:gravy. The cheese curds were not as squeaky as I like them to be, but they tasted great. My only complaint is that the portion was small for the price. The large ($ 9) was equivalent to a standard Montréal small.
I also had a burger, which was delicious, and huge ($ 6).

My wife and I stop there all the time for breakfast sandwiches and reubins.

I have gotten several sandwiches from this place and have never been let down. The soup is delicious also and how can you go wrong with Island Ice Cream. The owners are nice and seem to love what they do, so I feel great supporting them.

The Winooski Falls Market & Deli is a great, friendly and open space that feels welcoming and personable. I frequent the Market often and always walk away feeling great! Laurie is one of the sweetest business owners I’ve known!
