I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. Today I went with three coworkers. It was nice they have outdoor seating with shade! I got the spicy turkey on ficoccia(sp) bread. The sandwich was perfect size. It filled me right up! The sauce on the sand which was awesome and it had spicy but not too spicy! I would go back and recommend this place!

This place was super friendly and fast. They were nice and easy-going which was helpful since it was my first time there. I had a tuna salad sandwich and it was pretty fulfilling. Although the bag of chips I had was super salty, but cancelled out with the help of the delicious sandwich. I would recommend this place for quick gatherings. They have a nice patio right outside to enjoy the weather and your sandwich. There is seating inside enough for groups of 2 – 6.

I am a regular here and the secret to finding that perfect sandwich for me was to add their brown mustard to it. The bread is great, the staff is friendly, and the sandwiches are good, but a little bland without a little extra spread on there. Recommended

Got the cilician sandwich which has salami, pepperoni, ham, and provolone cheese. It wasn’t anything special and I paid about $ 7.50 for it. Will be going back to try some of their other sandwiches to see if there is any variation in quality

Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Whenever I go out to eat it is hard to choose anywhere else but here the general taso chicken is amazing and the crab ragoons are amazing. Prices are perfect and the portion sizes are very large, especially during dinner.

Great food. fresh breads. I suggest the roast beef and cheddar on pumpernickel rye. Really delicious soups too. Friendly staff.

Gigantic sandwiches for ridiculously cheap prices. Very fresh ingredients and lots of different choices. A great value and probably a huge hit with the college crew.

It’s good, around $ 6.50 for about an 8 inch sandwich and $ 1.60 more for a bag of chips and fountain drink. The first time I went there I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and it was very good. I would totally recommend someone that wanted a quick, warm buffalo chicken sandwich to come here. The bread and ingredients as well as the chicken breasts they use were good. There doesn’t seem to be much circulation so it seems that everything is sitting which may bother some people(normally me too) but it tastes good so perhaps there’s more circulation than is apparent. The second time I got the chicken Parmesan and I would not recommend this. It was just a plain chicken breast with marinara and Parmesan sprinkled on top, it was boring. It was okay, not bad enough to complain and lower the rating but not good enough to recommend or get again like the buffalo chicken sandwich. The actual building has lots of room to eat in, but is pretty dumpy/dirty. Nothing special at all about the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a sandwich and not sure where to go, this is a relatively inexpensive option for something worth trying. I’ll be going back again.

If you need some lunch within walking distance of WSU it’s a fine alternative to the gas station. If you’re driving go to Acoustic Café. Winona Sandwich Company is pretty comparable to Erberts and Gerberts. I was born and raised in Winona and this place has never impressed me, but it’s food and it’s convenient. Not terrible but nothing special.

Yummy sandwiches! I’d recommend this place for a quick lunch on the go. They have a nice variety of cold and hot sandwiches, I had a hard time deciding what to order. I got the Thai Chicken. The peanut sauce was delicious, though they could have put more on it. My hubby got the Sicilian. Pretty classic but a delicious sandwich. The bread is really good!

Nice place to go for a quick bite. Awesome location for the college kids. Has a lot of options for any hungry palate. But it sucks when it takes over 10 minutes to get one sandwich done and another food option goes cold. I mean really… C’mon. There was like 5 people working.

The service sucked, but the food was okay.(I had to ask three times for my soup.) I don’t see the hype with the bread, but the ingredients seem to be good quality.

Incredible. Ordered the Thai Chicken on focaccia bread and it was wonderful. The bread alone made it worth while to come into this place. They offer a child’s portion as well on most sandwiches which is really nice not to pay the full adult price for something they won’t eat all of! Excellent food. The service was fine.

If you are in Winona. Forget Jimmy Johns and Erbs and Gerbs(unless your drunk and already downtown). This place has awesome sandwiches and soups. Support a local place and get a great meal for a decent price. Winona staple.

So close but not quite. Oh Winona Sandwich Company I really wanted to fall madly in love with you. They said that once I tried you, my heart(and stomach) would never be the same. They were wrong. First the good. Easy to find, quick service(2 mins to make a hot sandwich) and friendly staff. Different menu options and unusual varieties. I simply couldn’t choose they all looked good. I ordered the Tai chicken sandwich and paid roughly $ 6.50 for a 6? 8? Ft sub. Average price and bread was delicious. Their were other bread selections such as focaccia and some type of garlic I think but I just tried the white. Now the bad. Although I think that the sauce on the chicken was very delicious it simply wasn’t enough. By sauce I don’t mean it was covered in any, I’m referring to how they marinated the chicken. The chicken itself wasn’t messy or saucy. It was dry with very little seasoning. When I did get a bit of sauce it was a bit like heaven but mostly I just ate a dry chicken sandwich on great bread. Another thing I didn’t like was the cupcake prices. $ 2.99 for a single small cupcake??? Maybe because they are small time they charge that but it seems excessive. $ 2.25 would have been fair but they did look delicious and apparently they have 50 varieties but only a handful of the flavors on each day. Tempting but on principle I didn’t try one. Oh well. I will say that I would return and try another selection if I’m ever in the area again. Or same sandwich and ask for a side of sauce with it. So until then it’s no second date but I wouldn’t turn it down if I had no where better to go. Very promising place, hope you have better luck of you try it.

I’d Like this rating to go up soon. I read a review how someone like the cheesesteak. So, when I dug in, it tasted nothing like a cheesesteak. It should be called what it is. A pot roast sandwich. As a pot roast sandwich, it was moist and delicious. Full of great flavor. But, not a cheesesteak. You’d be charged with fraudulent food if you served it in Philadelphia. I do look forward to trying another sandwich on the menu soon.

I tried this place because of the previous reviews. Went past it twice and finally found it. It was worth the effort. The staff was friendly and I got to see the regulars coming in, The Staff new what they wanted before they ordered. I ordered the Beer cheese soup, cheese steak with a medium soda and it all came to $ 10.02. Definitely worth a visit and they deliver to local places of work including the colleges

Good little sandwich shop in Winona. Nice standard selection of sandwiches, soup and burritos served up by the local college staff. Reminds me of my youth… getting old :( I had one of the servers top sellers, the Melt: ham, pepperoni, and provolone. It was a little more greasy than I should have had but was tasty.

I recommend the Reuben and beer cheese soup. So delicious. Best straight up sandwich and soup place in Winona. Yes, better than Erberts and Gerberts. They are usually pretty fast with the order as well. One thing I would not do is eat there, its rather small and people have to walk right through the seating to get to the counter to order. I would just go, order and leave with the food.

Being an alumni of Winona State, this sandwich shop was a regular staple of my diet for many years(sometimes Easy-Mac and Ramen noodles just won’t cut it). In this shop you will find a friendly staff and a fairly large menu of different sandwiches and soups. They have great lunch specials. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, you can eat for shy over 4 bucks if you get the special. The specially usually is a ham, turkey, or chicken salad sandwich paired with a soda. Not the most interesting of choices, but you can’t really beat the 4 bucks for lunch. Personally, I would recommend the Buffalo chicken sub, as it is delicious, albeit quite messy. While you are in the area, take your sandwich to go and sit down by the river or around the lakes for a picnic.
