Godfathers Pizza

Service was ok. Pizza buffet was poor. Not a real good variety and pizza was dried out.

Stopped for supper, took a bit for someone to acknowledge that we were at the counter. They had a buffet going (til 7:30pm) for $ 7.89 which we opted for since this was out first time.
At first the buffet had items that were missing or had been on for a bit but after a bit pizzas stars coming out of the kitchen. Nice to be able to try the various tops and find out which crusts we liked and how their pizza is.
Would come back again.

Yes, the inside of the place could use some work and the employee’s are often young college kids, but it’s a restaurant in a small town (My sister-​in-​law calls it Winowhere for a reason) and we think it deserves more credit.
We’ve loved Godfathers in Winona and have been eating here for about ten years. When we lived abroad and visited our parents, we always made sure to stop by for pick-​up or to eat in. We even had our engagement party here. As everyone says, the view of the Mississippi is breathtaking.
Over the years, the pizza has, admittedly, gone downhill. Either we’ve become spoiled with better pies or they’ve changed their recipe. We think that they’ve changed the recipe, because the crust just doesn’t seem to be as good as it once was.
The best thing on the menu is their Taco Pizza. All their other Special pizzas are ok. Their single-​topping pizzas are not as impressive as their specialty pies, so we tend to not order them. Make sure to watch their coupons, because you can get some amazing deals. Otherwise, their special pizzas can be be very expensive.
We want to give the place four stars for nostalgia, but feel that, right now in it’s current state, it deserves three.

we were there on st patties day this past year. when we arrived the buffet was just ending for the day, but still had all the food set up and available. so I had the family sit and went to ask if it was still available. the employee I talked to was in management, the only response I got from him was nope! so I said ok… could you tell me about the new pizza offered? he said, its a square pizza! that’s it! so I said ok! and how many topping? 1 to 3! that’s it!!! so I asked (gritting my teeth) how much does this cost? 8 bucks! that’s it!!! ok I will check with my family, and we turned and left the business with no plans ever to go there again. went to their competitor and great time and pizza. they sent an apology letter and free buffet for family but we haven’t gone back and wont.

great view of the river. The place needs a good cleaning. windows and maybe vacumm the carpet. seems odd to have carpet… pizza was at Little Ceasars quality. very friendly service. The place can seem like an abandoned office building if you go when its empty.

I thought it was great pizza. Lots of cheese &toppings. The view of the Mississippi River is great too.

Great view of the Mississippi. Pizza buffets on Monday and Thursdays.
However, just about everything else about this place damn near blows.
Bad service, bad pizza and the salad bar is truly horrendous. All the wilted iceberg lettuce you can stomach.
