I have no idea why this place gets the ratings that it does the service is terrible I would avoid this place they do not care about their customers only about their own agenda. Never go here.

Ok place. Bar food is bar food and winona has plenty of bar food to choose from. Sandwiches and burgers are ok. A bit disappointed to know that the Bub’s brews are just contracts from the cities.

I stopped here for the first time in several years with my fiancé a couple weeks ago. The place was not at all how I remembered it. The Bloody Mary’s were thick enough to chew and served with the world’s narrowest straw. The burgers left a surprisingly large grease pool on my plate considering they had zero flavor. The chips that came with our burger orders were clearly from a bag. To top it all off, one of the off shift bar staff sat drunk lay pontificating about life at 1:00pm on a Saturday afternoon. I threw in a second star because I appreciated that they let us choose our beer chasers.

Great bar food and good drinks as well. The deep fried mushrooms are amazing!!! And who wouldn’t want to go to a place called BUBS (pronounced boobs)?!

Incredible food for an incredibly low price! The employees are kind and helpful. I would highly recommend any burger on the menu. They offer complementary popcorn, so be careful to not fill up on that before your meal comes. I’ve done that a time or two :)

Good beer, good food for good prices. As someone from out of town, I really enjoyed my experience here.
The bartender just informed me that it’s pronounced «boobs».

Not a brewery, just a restaurant that serves a couple of contracted «Bub’s» brews. So disappointed.

Ehhh. Had the tuna steak sandwich. Don’t do that. Nothing special. They have popcorn…

I was there this weekend and loved the place. Madi was our server and she was great. Will definately be going back!!!

A dirty, dusty and likely mold filled joint recommended by College tour guides. Deep fried barely edible food. If this is recommended can’t imagine what else Winona has to offer.

Three bad experiences in a row. All at night. Ordered nachos and got all of the broken chips from the bottom of the tote. Ordered onion rings and received a very small amount. Burgers are always good however.

We used to love to eat in this place… tonight, was 2.00 off burger night and margaritas were priced at 2.50, their Thursday night special. My husband and I both ordered burgers. My husband ordered the «All American», just a cheese burger no lettuce, no tomato and I ordered the patty melt, no lettuce no tomato and we both order for the extra price of 1.50, the onion rings. We absolutely LOVED our waitress… she was the best, but the food was so below what we were expecting, that it was a 2.5 on a scale of 1 — 5… bad. Just blah, the onion rings were way to doughy, no onion taste at al, very bland. My patty melt, NO SWISS CHEESE. It was yellow… cheddar or some other YELLOW cheese. I’m sorry, swiss cheese to me has holes and is kinda white in color and is always the cheese in the patty melt. The cheese on this melt was yellow and in squares, not swiss in flavor either… way to many onions too. Ugh. My husband’s burger was blah also. He wanted to suggest that you offer pepper jack cheese as a choice also. We loved the Bub’s Golden light beer, and our waitress, but the food was, at least today, terrible. Going to be a long time before we eat there again… but the bar area, here we come.

Great food and handled our large group well considering they didn’t know we were coming.

The grilled chicken salad that I got (and all of the salads I saw) were made with the whitest iceberg lettuce possible. I also noticed other little things on the menu that were sort of ways to make things cheaper, i.e. no avocado on the cobb salad.
My boyfriend had the Grande Burger which he was not impressed with. Overall, was not terrible, but fairly bland in general.

Go there for two for Tuesdays!!!
Every Tuesday you can get two meals for the price of one! It’s great for college students on a budget. Good food, nothing fancy, sandwiches, wraps and burgers. They have pretty good bloody Mary’s too.

Two words: Cellar. Mushrooms.
Yes, it’s an appetizer. But they are so delicious. I order them for myself, hoarding every bite as though they should be taken to Mount Doom and destroyed. The dipping sauce might have crack in it, the batter is light and golden, the stuff in the middle is a gooey epic flavor adventure.
As for the burgers? They are good, try the burger with an egg!
Fun beer selection, they have their own brewery, be sure to try some.

I’ve gone there twice in a short span to get a burger and fries there. The atmosphere is fine, kind of bland but still satisfying. There are a good number of tv’s with sports on and was busy both times I went, but the décor was bland and not screaming character or unforgettable. I went vanilla each time with a plain American double cheeseburger and fries. The fries are good, the burger was great but it was the bun that they use that makes it so good. I also had the quesadillas for an appetizer and I would recommend trying something else, they were less than good. And for dessert a cookie with ice cream. If you need something sweet and are not picky it will do, but if you have a sweet tooth this is nowhere near satisfying, you can taste that it has been chilled and they microwave it to warm it up and it is rather small. Perhaps twice as thick and fresh from the oven it would be very good, but it’s not. Both times the service was stellar, well deserving of a 20−25% tip. Final note, the lemonade was very strong, very tart. Definitely would go back and would recommend.

Great service and a darn good burger. Has a cool «Cheers» small local bar feel, but they definitely are used to catering to out-​of-​towners.

Might be the best place to have a burger in good ol Winona, their steak is very good as well.
You absolutely have to try the Cajun burger, i love the fresh sauteed bell peppers that come with the burger, its truly a must try for spicy and/​or Cajun lovers.
The staff and bartenders are very friendly, its a great place to relax and shoot some pool. Plenty of parking options which was never a problem in Winona.
On Tuesdays they have 2 for 1’s!!! so be sure to go on Tuesday, although the wait could be long, also try their humongous roast beef sandwich.
They also host comedy shows and other events downstairs in their banquet hall. Be sure to try Bub’s, and yes it is pronounced BOOOBS, LOL.

You want a reason to ask someone if they like Boobs?
Its pronounced Boobs but spelled Bub’s and I love it. I was here for work and we had our final reception here. It is remiscient of the Billy Goat in Chicago with their own brew in the following kinds:
Light
Red
Dark
all are awesome.
Standard bar food but I need to go back and try more since my trip was just appetizers though the fried mushrooms were injected with cream cheese… soo good!
If anything they get five stars for their name alone. Who doesn’t love Boobs — I mean Bub’s!
