Awful !! My buddy and I ordered fish & chips which was their specialty. Fish was raw and half cooked. We should’ve taken the hint because the parking lot was empty. We won’t come back to this joint.

Don’t think twice about passing by sids. A true American diner, where deciding on what you want to eat takes longer than getting your food My club sandwich was on the table in less than two minutes… How a diner should be… I am a connoisseur of the club sandwich and down to the perfect bacon crisp, to the perfect golden toast it came on. Oh yeah and the ice tea is the mad notes. 10⁄10 would eat again

Just stopped here on our way home from California to Illinois… All of us ordered the patty melts, which were good. The fries were hand cut and good. The service was great and fast. We also had mushrooms and zucchini appetizers. They were also tasty.

Great service, great food. My favorite breakfast stop when coming through Nevada. Try the ground chuck omelet. Fabulous!

Poor food. Meatloaf tasted like it was made last week, hope I don’t get sick from it. Plain salad. Mashed potatoes were OK.

Finally had breakfast at Sid’s! Surprisingly really good, even the coffee was good too! We enjoyed our meals especially the chicken fried steak with cream gravy. It was perfect and so soft I could cut it with a fork. Don’t know why all the bad reviews. This is just a family diner with home food. That’s it. We’ll be back soon!

If there could be a worse restaurant for breakfast I can’t imagine. Talk about super overpriced and just horrible food. My mom, aunt, and I all came here for breakfast a few days ago… HUGEMISTAKE!!! The food is so over-priced that our three meals after tip were $ 40! My aunt’s omelette had VELVEETA in it… or some other fake crap cheese. My mom’s sausage patties were just horrible. I don’t know what they’re serving, it’s not your typical breakfast sausage… it had the worst after taste and even got me sick to the point of almost not wanting to finish my craptastic meal. So they changed out the patties with the weird weird aftertaste of herbs or sage or trash… the links they brought back looked like dog poop wrapped in plastic and then overcooked… I cannot describe my horror and didn’t even want to take a pic of them because they’ll haunt me for life… they apparently tasted even worse than the trash patties. My order, was a simple bacon, eggs and pancakes. The bacon looked as though it had been cooked the night before, was cold, no oil or grease to indicate just-cooked-ness, and tasted ok. The eggs seemed like a mix or liquid, not real. The pancakes were the best of the meal BUT the syrup was so weird!!! Like, it was slime, and even when I poured it it took a while to come out, rolled off my pancakes and pooled into a weird slimy mess of sugary grossness. I don’t think I would ever eat here again, or recommend it. Maybe they’re going to be on Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible soon… if not they should be. I think I would eat here again if offered $ 1 million in cash… yeah…maybe.

«Mediocre» best describes the service, ambience, and food. The fries are a bright point: about perfect! Burgers are kinda dry… spaghetti tasted a lot like it came out of a can. The Santa Fe Chicken sandwich sounded yummy: sliced beef and bacon bits… it’s was filling. If the roll had ANY texture at all, it would have been another star. Why did we go? Well, the menu IS totally huge! Something for everyone, it’s what we required. Overall, I’d have rather opted for fast food. Didn’t try them, but the pecan pie looked totally enticing. We cut our losses, and beat a hasty retreat.

Sid’s… used to be a Jerry’s, and also my first job at the tender age of 15 ¾. When Sid’s moved in they painted(a couple times) and re-upholstered the booths, otherwise it is largely the same, and makes me nostalgic when I go in. Sid’s also was started by a cook who left the Griddle, I believe once upon a time, the food had some of the Griddle’s signature dishes, now-a-days, its typical greasy spoon diner food. Dinner has a splash of Mexican influences as well. On this particular visit, I went for breakfast, I was able to substitute out toast for 3 silver dollar pancakes, a total win and for no extra charge. It was the perfect amount of pancake and sweetness I was craving to go with my ham and eggs, they don’t have a large ham steak here, just a half sized one, but it still had that restaurant griddle flavor you can only find in a diner. Prices are great and service was just right. They don’t have a computer system in so they still are old fashioned and writing and totaling up the orders by hand.(Just like I did at Jerry’s)

The food is average diner fare, nothing special but good enough for me. The thing that really set it apart from other restaurants in town for me is the service. Very friendly, and very quick.

Ok, so this place has way too high of an overall rating. Everything in Winnemucca is pretty much crap which includes this place. Somehow they were able to get my 7-UP to taste like mix between a casino floor and old coins. I’m pretty sure they use old dishes they were able to get cheap from one of the casinos that went out of business. They probably got the entire décor the same way. If you want to fee like you went back in time to 1985 and were stuck in some horrible movie seated next to John Candy, then go here. Except he is dead and he left behind his smell and it is his strongest legacy. I can’t believe they weren’t even able to make the fries taste good. All you had to do was look at them and you’d know they didn’t taste good.

Went here for dinner while working out of town. I had the fried meatloaf sandwich and they let me substitute green salad for the usual sides of home made potato salad or pasta salad. I opted for the viagrette… didn’t realize it was raspberry. It was fine. My buddy liked his tuna melt, and my sandwich was good. Nothing amazing but really what should anyone expect out of a diner in Winnemucca. Good sturdy food. That’s what I got. The atmosphere is cleaned up «updated» Sambos. It’s got a great retro feel. Service was again what you would expect. Friendly ladies working hard. Hmmmm. Maybe Ill have a chance to try breakfast. Wonder how that is.

Friendly, good service, diverse menu well cooked. I understand the owner/chef is a former cook from The Griddle. Winnemucca is a mining town. There’s a mining boom. Expect to pay mining boom prices. Also, the staples that build our food have had high prices for several years. Wheat and corn farmers are doing well, cattle and hog prices are up, this year’s crops in the midwest are burned up. We consumers expect low prices, in this lowest priced food in the world nation. Sooner or later, rising prices get passed on. A little family place like this is also competing with casinos, subsidizing their meals so the gamblers stay put. Prices are really not that much higher than in Phoenix, my home town of millions of souls.

On a recent road trip from the Bay Area to Wyoming, we used our wonderful app WAZE to help us find good places to eat along the way. We found Sid’s in Winnemucca and were happy we did! It’s a family restaurant, not glamorous, but just genuinely good! The service was friendly, the menu had tons of variety and our meal was just plain good! I had the taco salad — nothing fancy, but fresh and tasty. The prices were reasonable, the portions were really generous and it was such a better choice than any fast food place. I will definitely go there again when I’m on my way through Winnemucca!

We stop here on our way to & from southern Idaho. Been here about 12 times now & that number will NOT go up. Stopped on the way back home on 12÷17÷11. The service was SLOW, there was 3 waitresses &4 tables to serve, so it was not that busy. The food was good as usual, but then my 3 year old needed to use the restroom. The whole back half of the building smelled like someone pooped on the floor. A lot. My son smelled it first & started gagging. Then it hit me & I even started to gag. It was awful & disgusting! Sad to say, but I will not be stopping @ Sid’s anymore.

I just went to Sid’s for the first time since moving to Winnemucca a year ago. For many months I didn’t even know Sid’s existed. Its very basic outside décor is easily overrun by the BBQ joint next door or the Casino across the street. The bland décor continues to the inside, but I can’t complain. As soon as you walk into Sid’s you know you are in a real, no frills diner. I only got to look at the breakfast menu, but it was fairly extensive. In addition to the standard diner fare(eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc), they had quite a list of different omelettes from which to choose. I went with the taco ommelette, which I don’t recall ever having seen this offered elsewhere. It was very good as were the diced potatoes I got with it. The portion was large enough for me to leave very full and bring home some of the omelette and toast to snack on later. This may not be the home run restaurant in town, but I’ll definitely be making my way back.

I’m a bit behind the roadtrip reviews, so here is one from a few weeks back. What I continue to find is that at least ONE person has been to every little place I visited on this road trip!!! Sids Restaurant is a diner… in a small town in Nevada… sure you could stop there, but there is a bit more. Located off of I-80 in Winnemucca, Nevada, Sids is a family diner with nice, friendly staff and plenty of diner type food. Having driven all of the morning, it was time for lunch. The thing about driving through Utah and Nevada, is that there are just a few places that have more than one option to eat, so when one gets to a town like Winnemucca, then it is a good time to stop, rest, eat, before continuing the road warrior cross country trip my friend and I were on. I had a BLT and a few buds(my driving shift was over and I planned to sleep for a while). We found out from the friendly wait staff that Newmont mining was the key employer in the area… actually the worlds largest gold mining company. Plenty of shops, car dealerships… not the kind of place impacted by the issues with the finanical markets. Business was good at the mines and in Winnemucca… good for them. Food was hot, tasty, and cheap. We ate, said our goodbyes and head out of Winnemucca.
