Great service, amazing food and the best margaritas around! The Sunday buffet was great! Mother’s Day buffet had prime rib, shrimp, bacon wrapped chicken, and several other sides!

I ordered the grill chicken salad. I really enjoyed this salad because I noticed that the romaine lettuce was chopped fresh! Unlike some store bagged romaine lettuce. Yes, I can taste the difference. It was so good, it’s hard to come by a restaurant that will serve fresh chopped romaine lettuce. I also tried the tortilla soup & I enjoyed. This meal was perfect in my eyes.

It would be worth your time to get off the interstate and come eat here. I did. The Mexican buffet here was probably the best I’ve ever seen. Judging from the other photos people have posted the menu items will be just as good. Service was phenomenal. Check out my photos of the buffet. The food was not the absolute best but I would rate it four stars and they had fantail shrimp in the buffet too!

They’ve updated the menu prices as well as the plates. Since I’ve only been once since the changes, but it seems they are going for a bit more upscale and a little bit fresher take on the food. The mojo de ajo plate now comes without beans, but the lettuce garnish with the shrimp over a gourmet spanish rice with grilled squash and such with a some cheese melted over top. It was still delicious and still a plate I’ll get. Interested in seeing what else is updated.

Much better than the rating it has at the moment. The food was really good and so was the service. I will come here again!

This place is much better than the current 3 star indicated average! We stop every time we come thru and haven’t had a single bad experience. If it was only 2 hours from our home in Sacto area, we might make the drive just for dinner. AMAZING food, great fast service, and the casino is now totally non-smoking(a plus in our book). We absolutely recommend wholeheartedly!

The«carnitas» is nothing more than bland unseasoned boiled pork. Undoubtedly the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had.

Enjoyed our time here and the service was nice. Thanks Kelsi! Good tasting salsa and beans served at the top. We tried the Grilled Chicken Avocado Salad. It was good with the Southwest dressing. Frosty glasses and cold beer. The pricing is very reasonable and we will definitely be back!

Still trying to figure out how to word this review in a nice way. THISPLACEISAWFUL. We ordered the special«presidente». OMGWHAT A DISASTER! What a poor excuse for Mexican food. The spices they used were a combination of the Martin Hotel Prairie Dust(garlic powder, pepper and salt) and mexican oregano with diced jalapeños covered on everything. Almost tasted like italian, lol. The steak was so tough we could not eat it. The chile relleno was a soggy mess. I ordered a tamale on the side and I still do not know what it is they brought to the table. It definitely was not a tamale. It was returned to the kitchen. The waitress was very busy and did not seem to care about us. Our drinks were never refilled, nor were the chips. They were too cold and hard to eat anyway. The best thing we ate was the complimentary pinto beans. They were good. But maybe it was just me because the place was packed, lol. Sorry but we won’t be back.

OK food, considering where you are. Really disappointed in the«out of bottle» pre mix Margaritas, with a couple of ice cubes floating on top. Get the large draft beer instead.

Very vegetarian friendly, I see different waiters every time I visit this establishment. Young teen waiters learning customer service skills, Still more room for improvement. Very energetic. Very well prepared entries. Every time I’m routed through here I make a B-line to this establishment.

Eh. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The food mediocre. If I were in the area I would try somewhere else. Enchiladas were like they took tortillas and filled them and just warmed in microwave. Not cooked enchiladas of you know what I mean. We love Mexican food and this was just boring.

I have only ate here a few times. I think everyone of them I have had the chicken chimichanga. I really like the cheese sauce that comes over it, even though Im not the biggest fan of cheese.

Driving from Elko to Reno, this little gem was the perfect halfway point to stop for lunch with two girlfriends. We couldn’t decide between the guacamole and the queso dip, but the waitress was quick to suggest the queso dip. In addition, as it was cold and drizzly outside, all three of us ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The queso dip was good, though lacking some spice for my taste. We mixed in some salsa which added some flavor, but again, not quite spicy enough. Also, because we ordered a warm dip, the waitress should have kept a better eye on our chip basket. Unfortunately, she didn’t come around very often. The chicken tortilla soup was a hit with all three of us. The broth had great flavor, nice large cuts of fresh veggies and giant pieces of avocado. I would definitely recommend it. If you’re making the trek along Highway 80, there aren’t a ton of options for food. I’ll remember this one.

The food here is less than mediocre. For the amount of time we waited on our food, I expected something better. Our meals were barely warmed. Like microwave warmed. Everyone in our family got sick from the insane amount of old grease. We got the nacho plate, queso on the side & chicken taquitos. Also, our waitress had personal issues with my breastfeeding baby & his need to eat in a restraunt. of all places.

Who would have thought that one would find good Mexican food in the middle of a remote Northern Nevada city like Winnemucca? I sure didn’t. I ate here because the restaurant I wanted to go to the first time was closed for dinner on Monday nights( Unilocal forgot to mention this tiny detail, go figure) and it is attached to the Holiday Inn Express where I was staying. I not only ate dinner here, but I ate lunch here the next day too. Both times I had the Chile Verde, and it is one of the best I’ve had. This is something considering I am from Southern California and there are tons of Mexican restaurants here. They could strengthen their Iced Tea a little but most places could. The next time I am in Winnemucca, I will certainly eat here again. I may even try something different.

Been going to Winnemucca a lot in the past 6 months for work. Been trying out most of the places in town as I convince my co-workers to go to each place. Some have been ok, some have been great and honestly some have dropped on my list. So here we are, my first time at Dos Amigos. $ 4.00 margaritas are good. For me, the price point was good enough to have another. Especially with the reasonably priced Enchilada Suprema meal I had. Chicken, beef and ground beef enchiladas all covered in a nice mole. Service was quick and friendly. One thing I should note, is the beans on the table that come with the chips and salsa are GREAT. Awkward to eat, but still really good.
