The only thing this«Park district» building has going for it is the gym. The workout room is pathetic, like a hotel one only more crowded.

WIN fit? More Like LOSE fit! Park District Staff and Fitness Supervisor lack knowledge of fitness/health. Uneducated in field of exercise science and lack of proper use of health equipment makes Winfit Supervisor and NON Fitness Looking is caught between a rock and a hard place. As a ex member, I witnessed countless times of misinformation Fitness Supervisor and Staff forwarded to clients, guests of park district in exercise management. I myself was treated unfairly by fellow patrons and forced to cancel my membership. Winfit facility has everything such as cardio equipment, exercise machines, dumbells, and studio floor space to create the ultimate hardbody.

My son played soccer this fall through Winfield Park District and it was a very positive experience. First of all I didn’t have to drive all over for the games which is soooo nice! Another bonus was a great coach who realized that this team had little kids on it and they weren’t going to play in the Olympics. There was no yelling or that«we’ve gotta win no matter what» mentality. We did have a situation with another coach behaving inappropriately at a game. By that I mean he was yelling at the ref who was a 13 year old girl. Apparently this wasn’t the first time this guy had done it and a park district representative was there and talked to him about it. Soccer aside, you can register for programs here online which is a big timesaver. They also don’t charge you an arm and a leg if you aren’t a Winfield resident which is a big bonus!

Your body is a temple and you should definitely take care of it. This is one of the first places I went to in the Chicago Area. I was a habitual runner and all around work out person, so I tried to find a gym and it so happened it was right around the corner. I can say be sure you are a resident or not because that does make a price difference. I am not but it is still inexpensive. Not many people are in the gym so if you go from 2 to 26…27… when the girl in spandex comes around, you are wasting your time. I like that it is small and empty most times, because I get my workout and can even do circuits without having to wait on machines. Basketball court… where people play in the winter. Also, Volleyball on Mondays is quite fun! If you work out for yourself and don’t use heavy weights this place is for you. Minor downside is there is a daycare there and little kids are running around the hallways sometimes if you go mid-day.
