The Barber Shoppe

What a GREAT place to have your haircut. Kathy, the proprietor is a very skilled barber and once you describe the style and cut you are looking for, you get it professionally done. You will always look your best when you leave the shop after a haircut. And if you like to chat about family, friends, Winfield happenings or most any subject, you can have a pleasant and interesting conversation with Kathy while your hair is being trimmed. A bonus to a visit at The Barber Shoppe is the interior of the shoppe which contains many interesting and eclectic objects. A very comfortable and friendly place to come for that needed haircut!

Loved everything about this place, and it’s feel. Very home-​y and down to earth. There’s a «no rush» feeling here, which for me is ok, (I’m usually never in a rush). On top of that the price was more than right, and the cut was fantastic. I’ll be telling all my friends to go here!

I’d gone to 5 Corners Barber Shop in Glen Ellyn the past 30 years, until Sue closed the business at the beginning of October. (We lived in GE for 23 years. I never bothered to change shops when we moved west.) What to do now? Who wants to switch barbers? Not me. I tried the King’s Barber Shop in Wheaton. Decent guys. They give an honest haircut. But I really prefer to support a local business and I live closer to Winfield in my present corner of unincorporated Du Page. I noticed the other review here for Kathy’s Barber Shoppe and thought I’d give her a whirl with the clippers. She’s wonderful. She listens and takes her time and engages you while she cuts your hair. Asking questions about what you like done and what you don’t want her to touch on the old noggin. We chatted about her sideline antiques business. A fella named Larry was sitting there. He talked about his muscle car collection. A pleasant experience all the way around. Kathy gives a quality haircut at a reasonable price. I’d say I have a new barber.

Not only will Kathy give you a great haircut she will become your friend! She is a wonderful woman and a very experienced Barber. Her new Barber Shoppe you will feel comfortable and at home and don’t forget the great candy!

Thanks for a great experience! We had quite a challenge for Kathy when we visited. Son #3 didn’t want a haircut and I had to play the Mom card so I could see his eyes. I had visited Kathy at Sportsman Barber Shop when she worked there, so I knew she could do it!
She spent plenty of time asking both of us what we wanted and helping us figure it out. When we left we were both pleased! It made our day.
This is a great place! It’s in a historical building in downtown Winfield, just down the road from St. John’s church. Kathy is still doing some renovations here, so I didn’t have the full picture of how cute it will be when she’s finished. When you walk in the front door, she has a goody bar on the left with some sweet treats (think the Little Popcorn Shop in Wheaton) and some coffee. She has an old fashioned barber chair for her clients to sit in and relax while she does her magic. Parking for here is off of Beecher Road, before the intersection of Church and Beecher.
Stop in for a visit and leave with a great look!
