We were traveling this part of the country and stumbled into Hammerheads.
Your first impression may not be the best, it’s a little rough on the edges. However the staff (Mitch, Neicy) and others were so friendly.
The food?, fantastic. Get the chowder, it has won a chowder contest! I had the Hammerhead’s club, it was HUGE! And it was great.
I recommend stopping here

I love Hammerhead’s Oyster Bar. I have eaten lunch, dinner and planned private parties at Hammerhead’s. First, lunch, custom Deli sandwiches (like hot ham and hoop cheese on a pretzel pun with garlic salt) soups, and the only salad bar in the area, all are great. For dinner I have had both the Steam Pot, which was fabulous and the steam scallops and shrimp, and several of their appetizers. For the private parties I been in charge of, the steaks are awesome, the shrimp and grits delish and the scallops with bacon jam on top were to die for. Chef Mitchell also sells the bacon jam by the jar. The only thing I could possibly complain about is that it’s not open every night. Come ealy on the nights they are open. There’s always a line.
