Great pulled pork sandwich — wonderful smokey luscious-ness on a homemade bun. Excellent, truly southern, light coleslaw. Great find. Will definitely stop here again.

Attended a wedding this past weekend, 19 Apr 15, that was catered by Country Boys BBQ. This was the worst BBQ I have ever had. The ribs were cold; the chicken was under cooked, even though we were delayed in starting dinner service due to it not being done and it seems they rushed it. Very dangerous to be serving undercooked chicken. They should have had better planning. The pulled pork was edible but sub-par. The sides that were served were a tasteless mac and cheese, a pickly tasting potato salad and an over vinagery cole slaw. The green beans were passable but overall I thought the meal was horrible. Heaven only knows what they charged for this so called BBQ meal. STEERCLEAROFTHEM!

I think that LOVE is an understatement that I have for this place. I come here once a weekend to get my pulled pork sandwich with slaw. My mouth waters every time I think about it! I just moved to windsor and I love the area. This restaurant is so adorable inside too! I want my house to have all the antique décor this place has. The boys behind the counter are always so polite and they really care about their customers!

Based on the great reviews here, I drove 30 miles and took my hubby here for dinner. First of all, I wouldn’t call this a restaurant per se. You order your food at a counter. You sign for your credit card on a computer tablet, at which point it asks for a tip. My hubby and one of my sons got the ribs. My son wouldn’t eat them and hubby didn’t finish his. They were very tough and chewy. There was no extra bbq sauce available on the side. I tried them and didn’t like them either. My youngest son was very disappointed they didn’t have mac n cheese today. He asked for cheese fries with the pulled pork on the side. His order came out with the pork on the fries. He cried.(He’s little.) I got a pulled pork sandwich. It was pretty dry. Our meal was $ 50. Overall we were very disappointed and won’t be back. I really don’t understand all the good reviews… that’s why I took the time to write this review. I wish I wouldn’t have wasted a special day on this place. Only positive thing was the friendly staff.

If I could rate the place 10 stars I really would! The service is always excellent. A few weeks ago I came in probably 15 minutes to closing(3pm, I had just began working overnights and lost sense of time) and it completely skipped my mind that they closed soon! I felt awful about asking to eat in. She did inform me they closed soon but said I could definitely eat in the dining area while they did their cleaning duties(none of which interfered with my dining) The food is always excellent, I haven’t had a bad experience yet. The pulled pork sandwich is something everyone should try. She hand makes the bread, they are firm yet soft, buttery and there’s salt sprinkled on the top. It soaked in the juices of the BBQ absolutely perfectly. GETTHEFRIES! They are truly crisp, hot, fresh and delicious. The business does not skimp on portion size what so ever. Everything is served in heaping amounts! The beer bread and corn bread… I really can’t choose between the two! Every time I come here I want to pick everything off the menu because it’s all very good and has distinct flavor. I’ve also had the chicken wings which tend to sell out very quickly. The brisket bites are very good, as well. I am anxiously awaiting the Burgoo? Stew. The baked beans were not my style but I haven’t found anyone who makes them like I do, I may be a bit biased. They have a vinegar taste to them. The mac and cheese is very creamy and my fiancé enjoyed it. I used to drive from Chesapeake to eat here once a week! Then I moved to Smithfield and now I am in Windsor just minutes away from the restaurant. The owner is truly someone to admire for her hard work and dedication to excellent food, excellent service and excellent business. I recommend this place to any and everyone I talk to about BBQ. The prices may seem ‘high’ but for the quality of the food(including homemade pickles) and the fact that you are not buying into a chain business makes it worth it.

I would have to say this is my first review. But this place was great! First the décor reminded me of restoration hardware. The staff was nice and helpful. As the for the BBQ. Wow … Just wow. The pork was pulled perfectly. The bun was perfect to give a nice pork to bun ratio. If I ever take 460 again I will stop by again!

When traveling I look for dive restaurants, mom and pops, etc. this place is both. Excellent food, great atmosphere, will be back. Try it all!

Wonderful, friendly service and some of the best barbeque I’ve ever had. The cole slaw is top-notch and the fresh-made buns are perfection. I like that this establishment also helps other local businesses by selling their products as well. Check out the dessert case and the lovely canned jams and spreads(and occasionally honey!).

I’m working in Windsor for a week and I pass by Country Boys every morning from Suffolk to work. From the outside, it looks a bit rough and I’ll admit it was a reason I didn’t stop in earlier during this business trip. Thankfully, my hunger got the best of me and I stopped in today for lunch. The interior is decorated with a lot of antiques, rustic tools… very Pinterest-esque. I know a lot of girls who would«pin» the decoration ideas from here. Now lets talk about the food! There are different options and the best way to order seems to be the dollar options: $ 6/$ 8/$ 10. With all three options you choose a meat and a side with the only difference being a drink with the $ 8 and a drink + dessert with the $ 10. I went with the $ 8 option with a pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw side, and sweet tea. My food arrived with a big mound of pork on top of a sturdy bun that held together amazing well considering all the juices from the pulled pork, cole slaw and the vinegary bbq sauce. The cole slaw has a lot of black pepper which I loved though I’m sure some would prefer less or none at all. It was fresh and crisp. And lets talk about the pickle slices. Just the perfect bread n butter pickle! I’ll be stopping by again and again. Don’t let looks fool you!

I never eat cole slaw unless I’m at Country Boys; love the homemade sides and BBQ. Why would you eat at a fast food chain when such good food is available here.

Awesome! Great stop when heading to or from OBX if you are going 460. Nothing to look at on outside but inside is great. Hand cut fries are to die for. Chicken wings smoky goodness. Ribs — perfect. BBQ sandwich, by far, one of the best I have had. Even the bun was stellar. Homemade desserts absolutely tasted homemade. Apple pie & lemon chess the best. I asked if they had any greens. Response: haven’t brought it up from the fields yet. Everything was totally fresh. If you like smoky BBQ, this is the place. If they had a Country Boys in Richmond, would blow all the other BBQ restaurants away.
