Other than being somewhat busy sometimes always get great service here, even for unusual requests. One time there was an error made on one of my new tablets. The agent I cant recall his name(Javier maybe) was super cool about fixing, gave me a follow up call that it was done and when I got the bill it was all good. Thanks again Cellular World and at&t.

These people are jerks and liars. Don’t believe a word they say. Shame on you AT&T.

AT&T JUSTPAIDTHEFCC A RECORD $ 105MFORDECEPTIVEBILLINGPRACTICES. LOOKSLIKETHEYHAVEN’T LEARNEDTHEIRLESSON. Went in to Cellular World yesterday and asked for a quote on the Samsung Note 4. The sales rep told me the subsidized price was $ 299. Walked in today to pick up my phone and he informed me that I had to pay sales tax on the FULLLISTPRICE($ 68), as well as an activation fee of $ 40, even though I already have service with AT&T. My $ 299 phone just went up to $ 407. Feels like bait and switch — these guys are banking on the fact that most customers just want their phone and will tolerate getting nickel’d and dime’d for an extra $ 100. BOTTOMLINE — The rep should have been upfront about the total costs. This is NOT an AT&T store — it is an authorized dealer and they make their money on commissions. ALTERNATIVES — Walmart only charges sales tax on the subsidized price($ 299). Verizon will waive the activation fee to get a customer to transfer from AT&T(and you get better coverage). To be fair, I called AT&T directly and they also BS’d around the sales tax issue, claiming they pay Samsung full retail — not possible, since Walmart only charges for the consumer’s actual cost. It’s galling that a company like AT&T tries to get away with institutionalized cheating. The FCC penalties are just cost of doing business.

This is a great location if you like to spend a lot of time on the phone with AT&T costumer service, trying to undo service problems that even veteran AT&T employees have never seen before. I am on a family plan and my sister went into the store yesterday to get an iPad, the store employee who helped her allowed her to use an upgrade on our account to get a discount on it. Problem is it was the upgrade for my number and although I do not fiercely object to «musical upgrades» on a family plan the employee helping her somehow managed to brick my phone so I can no longer talk, text or use the internet. This wouldn’t be such a horrible problem to fix(or so I thought) but even two separate AT&T employees couldn’t figure out how to fix it even after nearly two hours on the phone. One AT&T representative said too me «I have literally never had a caller with a problem I haven’t been able to solve until now». The only thing that they haven’t tried is replacing the SIM card which I am going to have to do now in order to MAYBE fix my phone and actually allow me to use the cell phone service that is being paid for. Anyway hope you save yourself some time and go to the actual AT&T store in Santa Rosa, even though its a bit of a drive from Windsor you will end up saving time and money by doing so! Be forewarned… Cellular World in Windsor is NOT an AT&T store although the full-surround branding would lead you to believe it is. They are an «authorized dealer», and as such have limited abilities to make changes on accounts or do various other things. We wasted time on two separate trips trying to get an number and phone changed from a standalone account to part of a family«umbrella» plan. Big time sink. Don’t bother with them… as suggested by someone else, if you want an iPhone in particular, go to an Apple store or an AT&T Corporate owned store, otherwise, you risk finding out that whatever you might want to do falls into the vast abyss of stuff they can’t do for one reason or another.

My husband bought an iPhone here for me for my birthday. When we opened the box we soon realized that it was defective as it wouldn’t store photos taken to the phone. 7 days after purchase, my husband went to return the phone. He was told that it was indeed defective and that we could exchange it, but they didn’t have the phone in stock so we would have to come back another day. He went back again 3 days later — still not in stock. They suggested he try another AT&T store to see if they could fix it there. We went to another AT&T store — they told us they couldn’t fix it and couldn’t exchange it because we didn’t buy it at an AT&T store(we thought Cellular world WAS an AT&T store… it’s not). We went to the apple store, who would give us a refurbished phone, not a new one, because again, we didn’t buy it from apple. We went back to Cellular World — they had the phone in stock. We gave them our phone. They told us we had to pay them $ 30 restocking fee in order to get a working phone, and they wouldn’t let us exchange for the same phone — they would only let us get a different color. NEVER buy a phone from this company!!! If it is defective, they will steal $ 30 from you! Buy instead at the apple store or an actual AT&T store as both places told me they would have taken given me a new one no questions asked, no fee, had I bought it there.

Not a pleasant experience here. We were excited to update our phones after two years and came here because it was the main place we could think of to get new AT&T phones. My mom had come before and had talked to a rep who offered to help us out when my brother and I came for our updates. However, when we arrived later on, that particular guy was not available(he was helping another customer), so we were working with another assistant. I knew what phone model I wanted and asked if they had any available. I showed him the paper with the information about that phone, and the first thing he said was that the phone model wasn’t good and that I would be better off getting another phone, which he showed me displayed on the wall. I was very put off by the way he told me that my phone choice was crappy and so was my family — I understood he was giving me a recommendation and trying to help, but even when I told him that I had seen it another store, tried it out, and really like it, he insisted that I should get another phone. Turns out that they just didn’t have that phone in stock… nor the phones that my brother and mom wanted. The guy who had helped my mom before overheard and offered to drive to Santa Rosa to pick them up for us, but we declined, though we thanked him for his help. We ended up going to the Radio Shack in Lakewood Center, Windsor, who had our phones and for cheaper than they were at Cellular World.
