I’ll start with the good– I chose this Spa/Salon to have a mani/pedi day with my mother because of their great location and their well laid out website. Their prices were competitive and they offered a $ 10 instant coupon just for giving your email address, which was nice. Liking them on Facebook also gives you a chance to win a $ 10 gift certificate. They were also having a very good special on their products, buy one get one half off. The salon itself was gorgeous. Very relaxing, clean, and comfortable. When I called to make an appointment I was greated with ‘Thanks for calling Athena Salon, who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?’ Upon arrival, we were offered and greatfly appreciated tea and cucumber water. The actual manicures and pedicures were nice– I am fairly new at this experience but I would have appeciated them letting us know what products they were using etc. and also help using the massage chair. My middle-aged mother complained that she didn’t like the music(it was easy listening instead of middle eastern which she finds more relaxing). My complaints are that the nails were already smudged by the time we left the parking lot(not much instruction was given on how to avoid this) and litterally a day later nearly all of my nail polish is chipped or completely gone in the case of some of my toes. For $ 65 I would have hoped they would last a little longer than 24 hours. I also got my eyebrows waxed. It stated on their website that a touch up was 15 and shaping was 25, and I specifically asked for a touch up but was charged 25. I am too much of a non-confrontational push-over to have said anything, so perhaps that is my fault, but I was erked.
