They have good food, but terrible service. Called and waited on hold for the entire drive up to the restaurant. I get there and only one person was in line. I placed my order for a lunch cajun salmon. They come out with a dinner version. Mind you, I came at lunch time. I went to pay and she told me the dinner price. I told her I asked for lunch. She looked at me like I cursed her out. I said whatever, Ill just pay for this and left. Every time I come here, its always lousy service. Well, except once. This place would be great if they ever learned what customer service means or how to take an order properly. Smh at our folks sometimes. Dont think Ill be coming back. Keep your stinky attutude.

My coworkers and I descended onto Island Quizine for an impromptu going away lunch. There were 20 of us and we didn’t call in advance so we were worried it would put too much of a strain on the kitchen since they were clearly doing a lot of carry out orders as well. The chef came out to talk to us and promised a good experience and he and his staff really delivered. The staff pushed tables together in the dining room, took everyone’s orders and got our drinks to us quickly then started bringing out plate after plate of delicious food. Many of us ordered the Jerk BBQ chicken, which was sweet but had a nice delayed fire to it. We also tried the oxtails(very flavorful), the shrimp roti and pretty much everything else on the menu, all of which was very good. All the meals were served with rice and beans, sauteed cabbage, and fried plantains so while other posters have commented on the prices, we all felt we got a lot of food for what we paid. Honestly, it was a wonderful meal from start to finish — great food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Now that I know this place is here(very close to my office) I will definitely be back and will be happy to recommend it to anyone.

Food was cold and less than impressive. I would give this place a second attempt but the customer service was too bad.

One of my favorite Jamaican restaurants, the owner really takes pride in the appearance and hospitality in all of his locations. The restaurants are always clean. stocked and organized. If you know anything about our beautiful Jamaican brothers and sisters, you know they have some hard to suppress attitude and rudeness issues. The owner makes sure he puts all the crap to rest, he really appreciates your business and strives to stay in business. Sometimes he’ll come out the kitchen with samples of new menu item, I love to sample food filled with love. I love the porridge, the snapper and the tilapia, all yummy and delicious.

Love the tropical tilapia, however at $ 15 you should get more than 1 piece of fish… the prices here are way too high… a piece of tilapia in the market is about $ 3. Even the lunch portions are high and the drink that they give you could only satisfy a child. Went to the location on reisterstown rd and the food tasted different… this location tasted better. The shrimp pasta is delicious, but once again, the prices are a bit much

Island Quizine(IQ) is the best Caribbean restaurant in the Baltimore/DC area. And yes I include DC in the pool of competition. The signature dish of Jamaica is Ackee and Salt Fish. IQ does it better than anyone else and they are reliably open for breakfast every weekend. I simply love this place!

Had an excellent lunch today. The red bean soup was delicious and Yanique hooked us up with the first-timer sampler. Try the jam jam shrimp cooked to perfection! Loved that Donovan came by the table to welcome us. Definitely going back!

I have dined at this restaurant and it is always the same. Slow. If you want to eat now then order ahead of time if they tell you it will be read in 15 minutes get there in 25. The food is authentic and very goid. But what I like the most is that there is diversity in the menu. Yes, they have ox tail and stew chicken. But they also offer the most delicious Salmon dinner ever. If my waist line wasn’t going to suffer I would eat there everyday.

First time here and was very impressed. Not just with the food but with the customer service. One of the young ladies noticed I was looking at the menu and asked if it was my first time there. I said yes and she asked me to sit down at one of the five tables that were provided for dining in. Next thing I know she brings out a sampler tray with three different entrée items. Jerk chicken, Cajun salmon, and Curry chicken were all sampled, but the Cajun salmon was ridiculous… the Cajun sauce was amazing. It’s worth checking this place out just for that. The only caveat is that some of the items including the salmon were a little pricey but you pay for quality. I definitely will be back!

Ordered food 30 min ago over the phone. She said it would be 10 min. Get in, and yell here I’m here to pick up my order and give her my name. She goes to the back. Comes out a minute later and starts talking to the next customer right behind me. Another person comes out with an order for a different customer. I tell her I’m waiting for an order. The first lady tells her its not ready yet. –____– and you couldn’t tell me that because? Food here gets 5⁄5 but customer service gets a 1⁄5 so its a deal breaker… Years ago the people working here were great, lately its terrible.

I ordered something but changed my mind mid meal, their staff were courteous and understanding and offered me a stew chicken meal to my most grateful surprise! I ended up purchasing a delicious carrot cake as well. Thumbs up to having good customer service plus an accommodating staff!

I’m would say that I was a bit disappointed in my meal. The oxtail was flavorful but a bit on the tougher side. The rice and peas was ok. I stumbled upon a kidney bean that was hard as a rock, glad I didn’t chip a tooth! The cabbage was on the bland side. Overall their menu is quite diverse and I will definitely return to try more menu items. I have heard great reviews about their curry chicken. This could have been just an off night! Give them a try!

My friends and I recently dined in the«hidden» dining room of Island Quizine after leaving the Baltimore Carnival … and let me tell you … the food was beyond amazing! Although the the staff was very friendly and pleasant, the only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars is because the service in the dining room was VERY slow. This is the ONLY Jamaican restaurant I’ll eat at in Baltimore. Their menu is vast with multiple entrée options and daily specials. You won’t be disappointed.

IQ catered my daughter’s high school graduation party in May. As a rookie to event planning, I appreciated the guidance and information that the owner provided in discussing the event setup, menu and amount of food ordered. My estimations for the amount of food needed were double what was needed and the owner was very clear that he wanted my business, but did not want to take advantage of me. We discussed complimentary foods and my «vision» for the event. This helped quite a bit because I still shopped around with other caterers after getting my initial quote from IQ. At the event, the personable yet professional staff arrived earlier than our agreed time to set up, provided a very nice presentation, and the food was delicious– my guests loved it especially the salmon. The mac and cheese could use some work, but everything else was so tasty it overshadowed this item. The pricing was not the cheapest quote I had received, but it was comparable and because of the service added, reasonable. I feel like I paid for the expertise, value and the convenience that come with them being a full service caterer.

(Food 4 stars)…Service TBD I have been to this location many, many, many times and the food is undeniably delicious… however just this past Friday night a friend and I decided to meet there for dinner and the lack of customer service and professionalism exhibited was inexcusable. First of all, some of the staff(server and manager) could use a(re)education on appropriately addressing customer concerns aka customer service… to start, many but not all of their menus have prices that have been written in by hand causing a question when it was time to pay the check… the Oxtail entrée was listed as 12.95 and scratched out(in some of the menus but not all) to say 15.95…this may have been acceptable if the other parties menu did not have the old price and the dish was not ordered based upon this price. When asked about this upon reciving the check, the server said that that price had been in effect for months… Question: if that is the case, why would an establishment that prepares $ 20+ entrees not be able to properly and professionally reprint a menu that reflects current pricing to avoid confusion… beyond that, when the servers answer was not satisfactory, the«manager» was summoned and she immediately took the defense(as if we couldn’t see or read) stating that that was the price of a small order and there were only large orders. Again, this may have been acceptable had there been 2 sizes for the dish, there was not. Instead of admitting an error and simply honoring the price shown, she walked away in huff with no apology and papered to be irritated with that fact that this was bought ro her attention. To make matters worse, their credit card machine was not working and their request to use their in house ATM(with fees) or drive down the street to get cash again came with no concern or apologies either. As a small business in an area that has seen many restaurants come and go, I would hope that they would do a better job at not taking their patrons for granted… this was some of the worst customer service that I have recieved in a long time and truly unexpected from this establishment. With that said… I was able to overlook this isolated incident and returned for lunch the very next day hoping that they would redeem themselves… and they did. However they were still out of sorrel(the 3rd issue of the night) as they were the night before on a Friday night(what???) As I said their food is absolutely delicious and I have never had a bad meal there and I have eatten there over a dozen times… and I will continue to support them as long as these incidents do not become repeat occurrences.

Island quizine catered our children’s birthday celebration. We usually frequent their restaurant and are always met with great customer service, So I’m pleased that their catering service was no different. They arrived and set up for the event, and helped throughout the party, ensuring that our plates were cleared, food was warm and drinks were flowing. They use their own utensils(metal and chinaware, no paper plates) and cleaned as the party progressed. By the time the party was winding down, they were also ready, and there was little clean up left to do. The food was per usual and stayed warm throughout. They even helped with packing To-Go boxes and cutting of the cake. I have used their catering services before but hiring their staff in addition, was definitely the way to go! Will do business again!

Breakfast Menu Tropical chicken and waffles the menu had me sold the two fluffy Belgian waffles and two crispy fried chicken. I wish I got three hard nugget like small waffles so sweet you go into a sugar coma I got a hard salty old leg quarter that had been sitting under a heat lamp not crispy at all no white meat for the chicken it was nasty. I added a picture don’t get fooled by description. The service the little girl who took my order she was so busy trying to flirt or wait on the man behind me she could not give me the tropical punch I asked for twice. I love the fresh juice from there. Now I’ve gotten lunch and dinner from this location it’s ok. The service and the food dinner and lunch is better at the pikesville location. I know I will never do breakfast again. I will probably never get food from this location again liberty road is not that good and breakfast is nasty look at my chicken and waffle pick I posted

This is the new default jamaican spot on liberty road since Rio Corbe closed its doors. This place is fine. Nothing bad nothing great sticks out. The prices are a little steep im not a fan of that. The foos was ok not as flavorful as im used to for island food. The stee chicken I had was decent the rice a little on the dry side the boo had jerk chicken he ate it because he was hungry it wasn’t as spicy as he would like. The beef patty wasnt flaky like you’d expect but it wasn’t horrible They have a lot of options and there is a dining room on one side so you have the carryout option as well. The ladies at the counter were nice and helpful Bottom line this place isnt a stand out and because od the high price point on most of the menu items I really only need to come back if everything else on liberty road was closed but in a pinch I guess it works

We were passing by and decided to stop by for a little Jamaican food. Ordered Jerk and Curry Chicken with rice and peas, and fried sweet bananas. Both are good but it is spicy to my taste.
