Winchester Pub & Grill

Rose and I first took notice of this place when some musician friends of our’s were playing there on New Years Eve. We weren’t able to make that performance, but we heard it was a good time.
A few days ago we saw a promotion special they posted on Facebook… a shrimp plate, it was, and since we both enjoy seafood, we decided to go there for a Saturday lunch.
The place is a typical small town pub, pretty easy to find in Winchester. These places are «like a box of chocolates: You never know what you’re gonna get». (Sorry, Forrest).
We were greeted at the door by a friendly and very busy waitress who took us to a table in a space around behind the bar. Here I should say that the place has a sort of unusual layout. You go in the front and there’s a room with some tables; you go around the bar and through a door and there’s another room with some more tables. The bar area is sort of an island that divides the interior in half. Off of the second room where we were seated, there were two more rooms; one with pool tables and such, another with video poker and the like. I’m not sure just how this layout worked with a band and dancing, but it evidently did.
Turned out that the shrimp basket was only available the day of the promotion, so Rose ordered the Fish & Chips. I got the «Winchester Burger» which I thought was sort of their flagship burger.
The food was good, and as expected. Reasonably priced. The service was fast and friendly. The place itself is a cozy, dimly lit roadhouse-​pub-​bar. The clientele were hard-​working local types, and the waitress seemed to know every one of them by name. We felt comfortable, with good comfort food.

I don’t know why my other review was deleted but I’ll try this again.
The bartender served me raw chicken and after I decided I wasn’t going to pay for it she cursed at me and told me she expected me to go ahead and pay for the beer I was having. Horrible customer service and who can’t cook chicken strips correctly?
Completely incompetent and avoid at all costs if you are just passing through. There are plenty of other options that will satisfy you.

If you like fresh cooked sanwiches but not a busy area id stop by this deli its good food, but kinda slow service and not large varity
