Winchester Barber Shop

The staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. There was not a long wait. The one who cut my hair was Karina. She was very knowledgable about what she does. My hair has been thinning for quite a while and I wanted something way out of the park for me that was more appropriate for a balding man who didn’t want to completely shave my head. I went in wanting a buzz cut and when I got there she explained that there were many different kinds of buzz cuts (I had no idea). She made suggestions as to what I should do given my thinning hair while realizing the hesitations I had due to the fact that I’ve worn it the same way since I was practically a child. In the end I trusted her suggestions and just went for it and I loved the result. I was so happy with the hair that when I noticed they did shaves with a straight blade (rare for around here) I decided to get one of those too. The prices were great. All in all I’m very happy with this barber shop. This is where I will go from now on, simple as that, and while I hope to get Karina again I saw the way the other staff interacted with people that I will be happy to try others as well.

They were great! We took our son for his first haircut and they did great with my active one year old.

Loved this place! I was away from home, in Winchester and in desperate need of a haircut before spending all day at Hyperfest… found the Winchester Barber Shop via Unilocal and got a really great haircut at an excellent price! This place has really good barbers and a timeless barber shop feel. Would definitely go again anytime I am in Winchester and in need of a great haircut!

I asked for a medium fade #2 and my neck cleaned up. I got two side burns cut shorter than I keep them, PLUS they were significantly uneven. The fade was none existent, the lady basically gve me a high and tight with a #2 clip. I would rather shave my own head than go back to this place again. The only thing old school about this place is the décor.

Apparently it’s nice, my husband is a fan.

I am in the military and had grown up in the military and always experienced no nonsense barbers. This is a great shop where they get to know you, they seem to care, and they also provide a great hair cut at a great price. They are no nonsense and very professional.

I knew I’d found the right place when I walked in and the barbers were watching «It’s Academic» on a single hanging television set. That high school quiz show has been on the air for 51 years, and a visit to the Winchester Barber Shop felt just as timeless. But don’t go in expecting a styling or a shampoo, because this is strictly a haircut place, maybe with a shave if you need one. Forget about any fancy decorations, either: this is a barber shop. It’s the kind of place where you can tell them how you want your hair cut, but you really don’t have to.
While I was there a father and son came in, and the barber didn’t even wait to be asked before she changed the channel to Saturday morning cartoons. (The kid asked for his hair to be cut «just like Dad’s.») The Winchester Barber Shop seemed like a place where you can take a kid and not have to worry about spotting a dirty magazine or overhearing a curse word, which just felt right to me. I left sporting a great haircut, smelling of talcum powder, and feeling pretty darn proud to be an American.
