If you like Greek flavored food you’ll probably like this. I do not. Seated by door, noisy and windy every time it opened. Food wasn’t bad, just tasted all the same.

Walking in the restaurant appears cozy and very clean. My husband and I both ordered steak. He got the NY Strip and I got the Jack Daniels Black Angus. We each had a salad to start which was of good size and freshness. Warm white rolls were brought to the table with a tasty home made oil dipping sauce. When our steaks came out we were impressed with the portion size and incredible flavor. His NY Strip was the most flavorful«plain» steak I have tasted. My Jack Daniels steak was so good and truly tasted of Jack Daniels, more than just a faint hint. I had ordered a side of the pasta to try and was pleasantly surprised to find that the sauce was well seasoned and not at all watery. For dessert we split the tiramisu and found that to be moist and delicious. We both left feeling full and happy. There is no doubt we will be returning.

They are new and just starting out and the food is fantastic. My wife had the jack danielle’s steak and I had the New York Strip. They were delicious. I do not really eat pasta but I tried my wife’s spaghetti and it was excellent. Décor is fine. Waitstaff is the restaurant’s family and is warm and friendly. Eat here.

Poor waitress seemed flat out but incredibly cheerful despite her circumstances. Food was very salty and lacked depth of flavour.

Had high expectations due to the reviews on here but was let down by the quality of the food. Service was excellent, but a member of our party was served spoiled milk and the food lacked seasoning and depth of flavour.

Brand new, nice location. Beautiful and classically decorated, this adorable small Greek and Italian restaurant has a warm charm and fantastic service by this father-son-daughter team. I love the idea of a huge window along the front of the restaurant and the tables out front for eating outside. Good is great — huge portions, and all the typical Italian and Greek items. Good options for kids. I highly recommend anything with the red pasta sauce, the chicken wings, or the soup of the day, or any of the monster sized well seasoned wraps. That’s all I’ve had a chance to try yet; I’ll keep you posted as I try others. I was amazed when even the wine at this small hometown restaurant was delicious. Bathroom very clean… I always check because I think it’s a strong indicator of restaurant cleanliness.

Primo is very conveniently located right off Rte. 8. It is a little nicer on the inside than it is out. They have an open kitchen that looks clean. The layout is simple; one main dining room and possibly a back room for private parties/large groups. The service is friendly. They have American offerings in addition to Italian and Greek. I would stick with the ethnic offerings. The prices are decent but portions good; with a groupon this place is worth it.

Stopped to get a Greek salad before work and was pleasantly surprised. The salad was huge and had an amazing homemade Greek dressing and authentic grape leaves. Had enough to take to eat for dinner !

I stopped here to eat with my family just cause it was the first place we saw down the road. When we got here we were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff. We were sat down immediately. I ordered a Hungry Man’s Burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was a huge burger especially for the price it was. Everything was super fresh out of the kitchen which explains why the wait was a little long but it was completely made up with the food. They served a generous a amount which is always good! I left with a food baby and so did the rest of my family. We had to get To-go boxes because we couldn’t finish it. Nonetheless this place has great food and a great staff. Highly recommended!!!

Gyro was great, fries were solid, good coleslaw. Host and server were very friendly, attentive, and everything was prompt. I will definitely add this to my regular stop through Winsted.

I had the seafood fra diavolo, it was on the mild side, could use some more heat. The overall taste and portion size were above average. It was somewhat busy, the waitresses were doing their best, The hostess, and I use that term loosely, seemed otherwise occupied, texting incessantly on her phone while at first seated at the first table as you walk in and then behind the counter. Totally unprofessional even considering the casual atmosphere. I found out she is the owners daughter. Owner /Dad, teach her some manners or find someone who cares.

First time here. I ordered chicken masala and it was very good. The chicken was nice and tender and the masala sauce was excellent. I ordered take out and the woman that helped me was very pleasant and cordial. The prices were also very good. I would definitely go back and try some other items on the menu. Probably one of the best restaurants in Winsted. Worth coming to from surrounding towns as I did.

A breath of fresh air in the CT northwest corner. Casual indoor and out door dining with a bit ofClass in Winsted . For starts, Fresh Crusty rolls w garlic olive oil dip, soup or salad included in the Entre’. Dishes seasoned to perfection enhanced by a welcome staff with personal attention to detail. We felt like family and enjoyed the special; broiled Greek lamb chops, twice stuffed baked potatoes. The Chicken Marsala over linguine was really delicious. Linguine was aldente’ and the pan sauce was scrumptulecent Large portions and a well priced menue. go check it out…

Saw this new place and decided to give it a try. We were greeted right away by a very pleasant man I believe was the owner. The waitress came right away and was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is very comfortable with a nice décor. The menu has everything from Greek specialties to pasta dishes to fish and steak. A pretty good all-around menu with a decent appetizer menu as well. We started with the calamari appetizer and hot buffalo wings. Food came very quickly, calamari was pretty good. The buffalo wings I wasn’t overly impressed with, but I have to say I’m extremely particular when it comes to wings. So take that for what it’s worth. We finished up with the Santori pizza. Which had tomatoes bacon shrimp and garlic with a olive oil based dressing. It was ok, would have been a little bit better was fresh shrimp, but once again not bad. I have to say, I really wanted to give this place 5 stars based on the service, comfort level, feel and overall satisfaction. Unfortunately I cannot do so based on the food, which once again wasn’t terrible wasn’t great, but somewhere in between. Unlike some on Unilocal,I am NOT going to crucify a restaurant that has only been open for one month based on my experience with three choices from the menu. I will definitely be back to give it another try.

I came with my mom, and grandmother for my birthday dinner. It was my mom’s second time here. And my grandmother and I’s first time. And we’ll definitely be coming back again. When we arrived, we were greeted quickly and seated. Soon after, we were asked for our drink order. Our waitress was very attentive, and patient. We hadn’t realized Tuesday was their pasta night. We had the option of linguini or ziti for $ 8.95. I chose linguini, as did my grandmother. We started with an appetizer; we ordered the zucchini fries… A perfect portion as a starter. The fries came breaded and served with marinara sauce or cucumber dip. We ordered both sauces. The cucumber dip was very fresh and delicious. Shortly after, me and my grandmothers salads arrived(complimentary to a pasta dish). We both ordered the house greek dressing. Which was phenomenal! I loved the bits of feta cheese that were marinated in the herb-y vinaigrette dressing. All of our main dishes came out soon after. I was blown away by the portion of my linguini. Me and my grandmother could have split the linguini, it was so large. My mom ordered what she had gotten on her first visit to Primo’s… She liked it that much. She ordered the veggie burger, which looked very appetizing. Her burger came with a generous portion of steak fries. Happy to see a restaurant in Winsted that sets the bar high. Polite service, good food and excellent prices.

Hostess and owner are very nice. Everything else… not so much. Chicken parm came drenched in warm sugar tomato purée. Cannot call it red sauce. Chicken marsala would have benefited from some flavor, any flavor: salt, pepper, seasoning. Souvlaki was also incredibly bland and the«signature sauce» tasted like the sour cream that was supposed to have come with the potato skins. The hungry man burger followed the theme of being flavorless. The rolls were good, the kind that comes pre portioned and just need to be baked. The calamari was not over done but needed seasoning, and unfortunately was served with the warm sugar tomato purée. The owner gave the kids $ 5 off coins to compensate for a really ridiculous wait for the check. They were cute coins, all preprinted on hard cardboard. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make up for the food or for the blasts of cold air every time the door was opened. A vestibule and adding a salt cellar and pepper grinder to the kitchen would really help!

** This is a review for take-out food ** My husband and I had been waiting for Primo to open and were so excited to try it that we decided to not wait for a date night and to just order take out for dinner one night. The person on the phone was very pleasant, and I sent my husband out to pick up they food. It was ready within 20 minutes, and he said the place was super small but very cute inside, and that the owners seemed very nice. I got the Caprice(Menu name) wrap — supposed to be tomatoes, sauteed spinach and fresh mozzarella. Well, silly me, I assumed that there would also be basil, as every Carprese sandwich/salad I’ve had has included basil. In order to jazz it up a bit, I decided to ask for grilled chicken in the wrap.(I was thinking something like Cosi’s Chicken TBM) The food came in a really nice plastic container, and with a side of coleslaw and fries. The steak fries were completely soggy and just frozen fries, and with no seasoning. That was a bit disappointing, since I was hoping that they were hand-cut. I watched for months on Facebook while they renovated the kitchen with the best sorts of appliances, and I guess I was picturing a chef actual making french fries, but alas… Anyway, onto the wrap. It was hot. It was completely soggy on the bottom. Nevertheless, I took a bite and I almost involuntarily threw up. It was the single grossest thing I’d ever put into my mouth. There was a heap of oily, black/brown spinach with literally no seasoning that was the«star». It tasted rotten, so I immediately started pulling the wrap apart. There was a ton of chicken, but it had no salt or discernable flavor and the texture felt like prefrozen tyson grilled chicken. The tomatoes were diced and steamed, the mozzarella was melted like a piece of plastic onto the wrap, and… NOBASIL. It was revolting, there was no flavor except the rotten spinach. I guess my face said it all, because I was so disapointed and sad that my husband stopped his potential bite and said, «Oh, what’s wrong!!!» Let me just say, I’m not a «foodie» or an expert, but I can cook. My kids are better at grilling chicken breasts than this place. I’ve literally never had such a flavorless hunk of meat. I had my son and oldest daughter(both middle-school aged kids) and they both thought it was disgusting, and lacked seasoning. It was like no one even cared, and that’s saying a lot for a place that just opened a month ago. The slaw was also an afterthought, and with a heavy hand on the acid. My husband ordered a burger and fries, and he bit into his obviously frozen pre-formed patty and found it to be completely raw inside. He ordered it medium, so he was pretty upset. It did have a grill flavor, but again — no salt. He ended up microwaving it(two minutes, and it was still pink inside… gross!), and giving me a quarter of it so I didn’t starve. I also choked down some of his fries, which weren’t as soggy. We paid around $ 20. I wasn’t upset at the price, I thought they were super reasonable and I REALLY wanted to like this place, I did. However, we opted to not even call and complain because I knew that the owners would probably offer us a free meal. No disrespect, but I didn’t even want a free meal. It was just gross. Honestly, I feel stupid because I’ve heard such good things but I won’t give them another chance. Any place that calls itself a restaurant should be humiliated to serve what they served to us and actually expect people to pay for it. Maybe their pasta is better? I just won’t be finding out.

My husband and I went to dinner this past weekend at primo. We got greeted at the door and sat quickly. The restaurant is small, and quite noisy, the kitchen is mostly open right next to tables. They are providing complementary wine which was nice. My husband ordered a medium burger and it did come back well done, he was ok with it though. As he ate his burger my meal was«coming», as the waitress informed us, after dropping off his meal. We asked for the check and it took a few minutes but not too long. We do want to try primo again !!!
