One of the nicer shops in Winchester. Family owned and they make an effort to find out how your day is going. Good coffee and pastries. Nice couches and tables. I love to sit outside in the summer with a coconut latte.

I’ve been a few times. Location is convenient to my house and the ambiance is very pleasant, but the coffee is one-dimensional. The espresso seems a bit thin/watery. I’ve gotten a few specialty drinks, and they were both too sweet. In one case, I wanted extra foam, and their foam game was sorely lacking.

Went there once cuz my daughter attends daycare right next door. Environment: cozy, clean and extremely comfortable Food: has a muffin which was delicious Coffee: vanilla latte was overwhelming sweet with vanilla syrup. Didn’t take more than a few sips cuz it was WAY too much. Prices: cheaper than Starbucks more than 7⁄11. Nice middle of the line prices. Overall I think it would be a great place if you got a different drink but I went in for coffee and it was not appealing enough to return.

We love this coffeehouse, and drive over from Martinsburg specifically to go here. The owners and staff are gracious and welcoming, the coffee is always hot, prompt and delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. We usually enjoy a sandwich with our coffee, and have fallen in love with peanut butter, banana, honey and granola just like when we were kids… five decades ago! We love to support small businesses who are doing great things, and what we see in this Daily Grind is unique. A blessing in every visit! ;)

Can’t say enough good things about DG! Great service, great wi-fi, and seriously quality food. The staff is always welcoming and don’t seem to mind me taking up a table for a few hours of work. Weekdays/Saturdays they are generally open from 6 – 8. Sundays from like 8 – 4. But that’s off the top of my head, so it could be wrong!

Full disclosure: I’ve worked in food service and several coffee houses before. I generally don’t care what coffee tastes like so much how a store is ran. So if I ever review a coffee place I’m looking at it from the past experiences I had. I think we can all agree that most coffee drinks are pretty consistent no matter where you get them. It’s the staff, presentation, cleanliness, and recipe creativity that matters. The coffee is bland and pretty much what you’ll get anywhere. Which again, is okay. What did bother me though was the iced coffee is diluted because they brew it first, then add ice. Ugh. The staff is very friendly, but seemed overwhelmed by the number of people on the slow morning. Maybe someone was on their break? I had a few other things that impacted MY impression of The Daily Grind, but I recognize that sharing them might not mean much, or anything, to others. For example, the syrup and syrup pumps. Many didn’t look like they had been cleaned while in use(just a simple wipe down to prevent build up). Another concern was that they were all very low and the sheer number of flavors made me wonder what their shelf life was. When I see a bottle getting low and I can’t find an obvious expiration date I avoid it. Is that proof that Daily Grind is guilty of bad food or uncleanl? NO, but these were small things that lowered my impression of the place. The cost is actually about on par with Starbucks and most of the drinks are similar. Which is okay, that’s what customers want. Clearly this location is loved, and maybe there’s a magic here that I missed. But I don’t feel inclined to return.

As a Northwestern’er from Portland, Oregon I’m always delighted to find a coffee bar that knows how to make a cappuccino. This is the place you can find a great one. Though, today while sitting in my favorite chair here, someone who had just ordered a chocolate cappuccino started complaining that the cup wasn’t filled up with enough milk and it was too strong… My goodness people… That IS a cappuccino. She should have ordered a latte’! If you’re looking for the ultimate Cap. come here, otherwise order a latte’! :)

Very inviting setting and I loved the conference room. Perfect for casual meetings and the coffee is on point.

OK, first thing to note — not all Daily Grinds are the same. There are 3 coffee shops in Winchester alone named«Daily Grind»; I’ve been to each a number of times, and they all offer varying experiences since they’re owned by different people. This Daily Grind is the furthest out west, but is worth the extra few minutes’ drive. First, let’s talk about atmosphere. This shop is fairly large, offering plenty of seating — there’s a couch, a few high tables, a couple comfy overstuffed chairs, and plenty of regular tables to dine at(both inside and outside). They also have a conference available, if you’re in the mood to throw parties or hold meetings, and I think they offer it up for free — not something you typically see in a coffee shop. The staff are always friendly and happy, and are willing to strike up a conversation most of the time when they aren’t busy. I like that — especially when they’re offering helpful suggestions for drinks when I’m looking to try something new.(I work remotely from the shop about once or twice per week, so I’ve tried most of their drinks.) Now, on to the drinks… I’m one of those folks who likes a big drink when I order a large, so their«mega» size lattes and frozen drinks are perfect. I think they’re a little bigger than a Starbucks Venti size, and actually cost a little less when you consider Daily Grind’s loyalty card program(buy 10 drinks, get 1 free). While I’ve had one or two lattes that seemed a bit strong, this is something that can easily be overlooked with the number of times I’ve visited this place.(I’ll also note that they offered to remake the drink immediately, with no hassles whatsoever, when that happened.) I’d say that when ordering hot drinks, they’ve probably gotten everything right 95%+ of the time. While they have an extensive list of syrup combinations with different drink names(«nutty buddy», «pink lady», etc.) my taste for hot drinks runs rather simple. I’ve got three favorites: their maple syrup latte(this is my favorite and staple hot drink), mocha latte with coconut and peppermint syrups, and their caramel latte. I’ve enjoyed a number of their cold drinks, too. Their cookies & cream frozen drink is consistently good(they put little chocolate chips in it if you ask), but not as good as their coffee toffee frozen drink.(They put little toffee chunks on top of it along with the whipped cream, which makes for something different.) My favorite isn’t anywhere on their menu, but you can normally get them to do it if you ask — a frozen mocha base, with a real banana and real peanut butter added to it. It will cost you a little more, but is something you won’t find in other places around Winchester and is definitely worth it. Daily Grind also offers fruit smoothies. I’ve tried these once or twice, but usually find them to be a bit too sweet for my preferences. It’s not that they necessarily taste bad — just that I’d prefer something that tasted a little less sweet. Their menu also includes sandwiches and pastries. I’ve tried most of the sandwiches on the menu, and if there for lunch usually opt for whatever their special is.(I prefer the wheatberry bread to the thinner style pita-like bread they use on their other sandwich offerings.) The chocolate coffee cake is pretty good, too.

I am greeted by friendly staff every time I visit. The food and coffee are good. The Internet is free.
