I was staying one night nearby at the Fairfield by Marriott and wanted something other than the usual chains. This place was a great find. The server was lovely and I enjoyed the meal — but it was way too much food for petite me! If you’re staying in this area and want something special, this is a good place to try.

Family portions make it difficult for tasting variety if that is in fact what you are looking for. With that being said, the Italian music puts you in the mood to tuck the napkin into the top of your shirt and dig in to your Italian delight. Ordered the eggplant parm and«create your own pasta». We avoid meat so an extra veg in the create your own pasta met our expectations. First fork full tickled the tastebuds as I screamed out«Hey Mambo, mambo Italiano!» The last fork…“ECCELLENTE!” Yes there was left overs. Wrapped up the rest for another tastebud extravaganza. Ended with a chocolate chip cannoli and black coffee. Expresso machine was«on the fritz.» Lizzie did a great job working us through the menu. Great service and appreciate your smiling attitude. Thank you.

When you call in a to go order at 6:45, they tell you it will be ready in 15 minutes, you go there at 7:05, and at 7:31 you still don’t have your food.

My girlfriend and I went in about an hour before our movie started to get appetizers and cocktails. Service was super slow, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. We sat at the bar alone. It took over 15 minutes for the bartender to take our drink orders. Then another 10ish minutes to make 2 martinis. The Tiramisu Martinis were just ok. My girlfriend asked for a different drink because she didn’t like it at all. The bartender gave her a bit of an attitude and then another server came over and poured her some sangria instead. By this point, it was about 20 minutes before our movie and we were told that we were too late to order appetizers and they probably wouldn’t be out in time for us to make our movie. Next time, we’ll find another place to go with quicker service. This completely discourages me and I’ll probably never go in for a proper meal.

We like this chain of restaurants and we had a chance to try this one while in the area. This one, just like the other locations we have tried, has really good food and service. If we are in the Winchester area, we would definitely eat here again. Excellent location, right off the interstate, if you are passing through the area and want to have a nice«cooked-to-order» Italian meal. Buca di Beppo — HINT — It would be really nice if you would put one of these in Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, VA or Spotsylvania Town Center in Fredericksburg, VA.

We have been to different locations of Buca and we really can’t go on eating in this restaurant. The décor gives me a creep; they are bad taste and chaotic to look at. The ambience and the food is not good compare to other Italian restaurants. This would be our last and we will never come back to any locations of Buca. It’s time to move on and find a better Italian restaurant.

I chose this restaurant purely for it’s family style service for a special event. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation for 19 people. The person I spoke to worked with me to plan a fixed menu that fit within my strict budget. She arranged for a very nice variety of dishes including dessert. When we arrived we had more people than expected and the staff accommodated us quickly. We were seated in a separate room in a u shaped arrangement that allowed everyone to socialize easily. The food was abundant and delicious! The staff was friendly and very accommodating, even though we ended up requesting several gluten free plates at the very last minute. My favorite dish was the spaghetti with meat sauce. There were hearty chunks of seasoned ground meat in the sauce, and the tomatoes tasted like they came straight from the garden. I’m so glad I gave this restaurant a try despite a few mixed reviews I had seen. This place is warm and inviting and has amazing food. I don’t know what more anyone could ask for.

My husband and I came in tonight for the first time. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a friendly smile and given a tour around the restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and quick. The food was delicious! At the end of the night we splurged on the colossal brownie sundae(which our one year old REALLY enjoyed!).

We had a perfectly fine time here. Our waitress was kind and attentive and the food was okay. But nothing to write home about. Before tip our food came to $ 42. We got a spicy chicken dish and a pasta alfredo side. It fed my husband, myself, and our daughter. Taking our daughter out of the equation because she is only 3 and eats like a bird, it really only fed the two of us. If you had split the dish in 2 and served it as such as normal restaurants would do, I would not have paid $ 21 for this meal. It was only okay, and as they charge«family style» for sides too, we did not purchase a vegetable(would have been ten bucks!) and went with out. Fine for a one-time experience, but we will not be going back. The price just isn’t worth the quality. If I’m going to pay 20+ dollars a person, I’m heading to ruth chris or somewhere much nicer.

I decided to give this place a second chance, because the big guy from Florida sent a nice coupon in the mail, and I decided to take my two good friends out to lunch and use it. The lunch prices are exceptional and not so expensive, so that’s a plus if you don’t want to spend too much around dinner time. Our waiter was promptful and helpful and though a minor language barrier she was really great, sunshining personality. I made sure I wrote on my receipt to let her know she did a phenomenal job since the last time I was in there. Our food was out fast, but then again the place was really dead. Just happy this time, I was taken care of. Thanks to corporate management for following up and taking care of my bad experience and making it a rather pleasant one.

I came in for lunch on «Ravioli Day». March 20 I had a Facebook coupon for ½ price off. I was seated immediately and served very well by Aysa, my server. The ravioli parmeoli was good. I ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs to take home for dinner. My husband said the meatballs were tasty. And I couldn’t resist the tiramisu for dessert; it was very good.

I’m not giving Buca two stars because I disliked it, but I’m not sure how so many reviewers are raving about this place. While the restaurant is elaborately decorated and a treat to look at(or overwhelmingly kitsch, depending upon your tastes), we came in for a late lunch about about 2pm, were immediately seated, and despite the place being virtually empty we had incredibly slow service. The food was good, but ridiculously overpriced for a lunch menu. And when I say the food was good, I mean it, but it wasn’t as good as Roma’s. Next time we’re more apt to go to Roma’s or even to Olive Garden; either we want authenticity or cost effective consistency, but Buca offers neither — and slow service, to boot.

Came here with friends after watching a movie. I really liked the place. Environment: The décor was unique and artsy in my opinion although I’ll admit I initially thought the pieces on the walls were random and out of place but it grew on me. Other than that the place was pretty cozy. Food: was absolutely delicious with large portions!!! Shared a rectangular pizza with my friends and had pasta. Sooo soooo very delish! Service: was great! The server was attentive and the manager came out to talk to us as well. They kept checking up on us to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. I liked how they never rushed us and seemed to anticipate our needs before we voiced them.

I’ve been here twice for lunch(April and June) and received great service during both visits. I had the chicken cannelloni and the chicken parmigiana. Both were satisfying and tasted good, nothing special, but good. On one occasion, we tried the tiramisu, which was served in individual bowls. The portion size was quite large and the textures and flavors were very good with a distinctive presence of rum. I am sensitive to alcohol and got a buzz after eating half of my dessert. :)

My wife and I planned a family meal out to Buca di Beppo with our 2-year-old daughter. Having never been to the restaurant, we were expecting to be in for a treat. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, and we waited for a few minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, the waitress was great at explaining the overall concept of the restaurant. After giving us a brief overview of the menu, we made our drink orders and also ordered a spaghetti & meatball kid’s meal for our daughter. We watched as the table next to us ordered and received the elegant desert platter that looked absolutely fabulous. Even they were surprised«how much» food was on the platter. A few moments later, our drinks came out and we made our choices on the order. A simple appetizer sampler tray, and the prosciutto stuffed chicken. This order(even per the words of the waitress) went in at 5:51PM. About 5 minutes later, my daughter’s spaghetti came out. Even for a kid’s meal, I was impressed«how much» food came out for her. Moments later, the waitress brought us fresh hot bread and oil/vinegar for dipping. That’s when things started to go down hill. 10 minutes went by. 20 minutes went by. the waitress stopped by to apologize to say that they had a new kitchen employee that was slowing things down in the kitchen. At this point, I asked for a refill on my drink. About 5 minutes later, she came out with a refill, and I asked«Is there any update on our food?». She said«Nope, not yet.» and walked away. We watched around us as waitresses were coming around to the tables around us to apologize and to say their food would be out shortly. At 6:35PM, the appetizer was brought us to us by our waitress — who informed us that our food was ready as well. At this point, it’s been over 30 minutes since my daughter ate her food — and as toddler’s go, she was ready to go. Needless, we weren’t really happy, as we had now been waiting over 40 minutes for an appetizer. She brought over the manager, who was very apologetic and told us the appetizer was ‘on the house’ for our wait — we said, we understood there was a new person working the kitchen, which the manager was quite upset about saying that the waitress should not be providing details about their kitchen that we didn’t need to know about — I noted to him that we weren’t blaming the waitress, as she’s been doing a good job, and the delay in the kitchen wasn’t hers to blame — when we noted that we’d be dealing with cold food if we ate the appetizer, he said he’d get another one put in right away, but it would take some time … eh, we didn’t think that was going to fly, because we have a 2-year old going nuts at this point. Against better judgement, we agreed to take the appetizer plate which was placed down in front of us. My daughter asked for a piece of the fried mozzarella, which I told her she could have, but she needed to wait because it was hot. or so I thought. I went to touch it, and it was cold. The calamari? Cold. The mushrooms? Cold… This means our latent appetizer had to have been sitting for some time in the back., At this point, we opted to explain to the manager that we’d gladly pay for my daughter’s meal and our drinks, but we were ready to leave. When asked why, we noted that after everything, the appetizer came out cold. This is when the waitress showed her true colors. In front of everyone, and her manager, she demanded that there was no way the food could be cold, because she supposedly watched it come out and be placed on the platter. I looked right at her and said«If you want to play this game, feel free to go and touch the plate yourself. Nothing is even warm.» She started losing it in front of everyone in the restaurant. The manager insisted that she go back into the back and off the floor, but she kept refusing. The manager became extremely apologetic again and asked to make things right. We again explained we’d be happy to pay for my daughter’s meal, and our drinks, but we were especially ready to walk now. He insisted that the drinks and my daughter’s meal would be comped, but asked us not to leave just yet, as he wanted to make things right & asked us for ‘5 more minutes’ of time. The whole time, the waitress is still losing it on the floor. Even after we previously told her manager that she was a great waitress, and that we knew it wasn’t her fault, she completely turned on a dime and attacked me and my family. She demanded that she put the order in at exactly 5:51PM and that there was no way we waited as long as we did. My wife asked her manager what the policy was on food — he said«20 minutes in our policy». so clearly, we were way over the timeline. He provided us a $ 50 gift card for us to try the restaurant again, but I think the damage was already done. To make matters worse, the waitress demanded to know why the manager was giving us a gift card. *sigh*

I love this place. Although it’s a chain it captures everything I enjoying an Italian Restaurant. Colored lights, red and white checkered table clothes and mob hits playing over head. The marinara sauce isn’t like grandma used to make but I feel it’s more traditional then the other chains. The family style helpings are enormous at a more than reasonable price. Don’t miss giving this place a try.

Buce di Beppo pleases. We went for lunch. Prices are fair considering even«lunch» portions will do you for two meals. I had the Penne San Remo and side salad. The salad dressing is strong tasting Italian. The Penne San Remo came with medium temperature, not steaming hot, but it was OK. There is a chicken breast sliced and present throughout the dish. The white sauce was light and tasty. Wife ordered Shrimp Fra Diavolo. She thought it was too spicy so we swapped plates. It had a hotter temperature and hotter spice. I enjoyed the dish. Shrimp were small but plentiful. The dinner portions are huge, so bring at least four people to share. The prices are rather high as well, compared to other chain restaurants. This location is the smallest Buca di Beppo I have ever been in. I don’t think that they can accommodate a very large group, so figure OK for a dozen or less. Call ahead. The Pope room seats eight, and NO Pope head on the table. There is no «kitchen table,» which is featured at all other locations I have been to… they usually take you through the kitchen when they seat you, but not here. Reliable and good. We will keep this on our list of options for a return visit.

Decorations are off the charts. Feels more like a movie set than a restaurant. Good service. I’ve only had a salad, soup and bread at this point. So, I can say that what I had was fresh and tasty, but I’ll come back soon and order a full dinner and re-review. Looks like a great place though. I like the idea of eating family style.

My wife and I were excited when it was announced that Buca di Beppo was coming to Winchester. Tonight, we actually went and enjoyed some of the best Italian food in Winchester area(or any area for that matter). Buca di Beppo serves family style, which means LARGEPORTIONS that are meant for sharing. I guarantee you will not leave hungry. We ordered the Lasagna, the Sausage and Peppers, and the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken. First, the Lasagna simply melts in your mouth, with just the right ratio of cheese, sauce, and noodle. Two words, simply amazing. Next, the Sausage and Peppers were excellent. I am sure my wife would agree, some of the best Sausage and Peppers we have had since leaving the Philadelphia area a few years ago. Finally, the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken was AMAZING! If you have a chance to try one dish here, make it the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken! Almost as important to good food is good services, and you will not be disappointed here. The manager Tyler was more than gracious, and the Waitress Holly was simply outstanding. If you have never had the chance to experience Buca di Beppo, GO! Experience it! You will not be disappointed. Winchester is very lucky to finally have a Buca in Town.
